Could see the Lib Dems pick up a fair few seats from remainer Tories I think. And votes (possibly not seats) from anti-independence scots too.

ok, thanks for all the advice. I’m well up for a bit of a challenge and if the ‘training’ helps me push my riding in technical ability ways that’s all good too. But maybe tweedlove is a better shout, didn’t realise there was one on later in the year. Basically thought of the SES as it’s local and far enough in the future for me to build my schedule around.

Thanks for the feedback. I live in Edinburgh so I’ve ridden the Tweed a bit, though I’ve never done the golf course side of Innerleithen. Pretty comfortable on the Glentress black downhill bits if that’s any guide. I’m sure I will end up off the bike a bit!

140mm on a road bike (mine anyway) is actually one less adapter. I don’t think you need the power of a 160 on the back, seems odd that most new bikes are coming with them now. I’m after some of those hope discs too.

They were grateful you didn’t claim for injuries. Not surprising they made a quick small offer

yeah this did occur to me.

    new bike thread coming!

the cheque is good because the quoted replacement bike is full whack and I got mine for 25% off 18 months ago. Bike shop said once all the damaged bits were replaced I might as well be buying a new bike. Plus I had aftermarket wheels on so I claimed for them too – front wheel was well bent.

thanks all, much appreciated. I have an incident number now, pic of the car & my bike, a witness, the evans I got my bike from is in the same complex as my office so I will wheel the damage in there at lunch. The police are coming to visit me at work at some point today. And I’ll read that LFGSS link now. cheers all.

yes I have a witness, a colleague of mine happened to be 20m behind me when it happened. No legal cover but another colleague has sent me the BC link.

I have a pair of them and no complaints at all. They replaced the disappointing stock Fulcrum wheels on my CAAD 10. Bit noisier than what I’m used to but i quite like the freewheel buzz now. Would recommend.

yes! Day 11 here too. Pretty straightforward so far but being massively ill for the first week made it easier. My birthday on Sunday though – what do I do?

can’t wait to see all these ageing Brexit baby boomers taking to the streets… before stopping in somewhere for a glass of wine.

it does actually look pretty good. Also I heard via a family connection in the Scottish film & TV biz that it’s up to scratch too. looking forward to it.

How can a man in his forties attend a yoga class without everyone in the room automatically assuming he is some kind of lecherous sex perv?

This is a real barrier to entry as far as I am concerned.

I went to my first yoga class last night. 41, I was the only bloke. it was a *bit* weird at the start but luckily another woman turned up who knows me and crucially that I have a wife. Just got to tough it out. Definitely going back so they will get used to me.

Is pedals still there? I walked past the other day and it looked like they had closed or moved.

I thought JB was boring as ****! though that was when I used to go to the cinema baked out of my tree, so maybe it’s worth a re-watch.

I loved it but the book is quite different in many ways. Much gorier too.

I never got to take it either, I had a US-import Huffy (American dad) with a coaster brake an no front. ‘The Man’ didn’t like that, even though I could jump down the most steps at the primary school.

Not quite hills, but East Neuk, wee walk along the beach (basking in the predicted temperatures!) then an hours wait for fish and chips in Anstruther?

and then spend the afternoon in the nuclear bunker. Bliss!

could be better than Winter Soldier… definitely as good as.

I think a super-intrigue-y black widow solo movie would be pretty cool.

don’t know about tears of joy but it’s pretty good. junior winos (9 and 11) loved it too. The airport scene is great.

Baker Street? I reckon they’re wanting the last train that goes past Neasden. Is that *really* Canary Wharf?

yep… but we had a long chat in the car later about the immovability of trees and what happens when you hit one at 40mph!

how about watching your boy when you’ve just given him your phone to strava his run and he’s pinning it down a red run (“in control” he told me later, but really not), in order to break his top-to-bottom record. He hit 44mph, a day before his 11th birthday! Definite mixture of pride and fear…

Flying to Turin tomorrow and thence to Briancon on Saturday. I was only going to take a park-y board but does that forecast warrant anything more powder-related?? Hope it’s not rain anyway.

we went once before it closed and again more recently. They definitely seem to be a lot more ‘on it’ now. mostly kids just bouncing up and down, it’s pretty harmless unless you are really going for it and/or clueless.

I wish (now) I had been able to keep the front left panel of my last car. Handprints all over it from my son and his cousin in the summer of 2006 when they were both not much more than a year old. Never could get rid of the damn things… now I wish I had them!

    Now, what is it?
i was wondering that. Does it have a brake?

I cancelled my order after I realised it wouldn’t take mudguards and a rack.
