lighter and stronger rims = easton haven carbon, proper UST rim (unlike edge's) and same width as crossmax. Supposed to be <1500g so about 280g less than current crossmax sx in exchange for about £2000 ($2400).
Easton also do an identical alloy set available now at $800 which is slightly lighter than crossmax – not sure on uk retail prices though.

ive been using 2009 sx's for about a year, very happy with them.
Still have king hubs on flow rims and TBH, the king hubs are better but the flow rims are no where near as good as the sx rims. UST just rocks when used with UST tyres.
On balance the benefit of the rims outweighs the downsides of using the maxxis hubs.

Can't say it was night and day but think it feels bit stiffer. Too much hassle to go back to qr to chech tbh.
Mounting wheel is more painful as it doesn't hold in place while you push through 10mm axle.

These forks rock when dialled in.

Upgraded my spicy from fox air can to cane creek double barrel with titanium spring, given the weight increase isn't massive the increased performance is significant. Very plush and controlled and doesn't blow through mid stroke anymore which was my biggest complaint. I'm 230lbs btw

so what I do know for a fact is that when I bought my 2010 ones, I took the hoses off and put them on my 2009 Ones which I then sold. The goodridge hoses from the 09 ones fitted the 2010 ones without issue.
If R1 and 2010 Ones are identical then perhaps it might work….Id pull one of my hoses but the bikes are packed for me relocation to germany tomorrow so it will be a few days before I get chance to faff with bikes.

dont the goodridge "one" hoses work – they look identical I recall from memory……the fact the HEL kit is for all three formula brakes would seem to in indicate there a good chance they work work?

I had one on my motolite for 6 months – no problems with it and seemed quite resistant to crud. Not sure it span any more freely than the XTR one it replaced though. Regreasing is easy due to the cool little tool you can get for it too.

stuck a pair in Frnt & rear of my Ones today, dropped in easier than Formulas pads and seem to work well too (sintered)

they've price matched some really crap on line retailers who messed me around. CRC price matched and delivered next day too! They were big price match drops too, forks from £800 to £600, helmet from £380 to £280.
    Very happy with CRC 🙂

Dasnut – Your Zesty is a excellent platform for adding on a high end shock like a CCDB due to its inherent stability and resistance to pedal induced bob. Even though its "only" 140mm, you'll get far more control when using a shock which can track the ground as excellently as something like a CCDB. I was shocked just how much more traction was afforded by the swap….Id love to see what a Ohlins developed fork could do too….

OOC, what "substance" do you want exactly?

Its a do it all bike so it basically does everything from trail centres through to DH. Its doing the Megavalanche later this year as I move towards more enduro type stuff.

I was actually thinking of sending the discarded Rp2 to tftuned to see how it performs with their mod's given all the positive press I read about them.

One click makes a noticeable difference thats for sure, not sure its enough to totally bugger it up but one click can takes things beyond optimal.
I was pretty surprised at the range of the CCDB TBH – its incredibly versatile.
I also found the instructions pretty helpful and fettled understanding what changes I was making and able to sense the changes. having said that – it aint dialed in totally yet! 🙂

I just put a CCDB on my Spicy which is used for aggressive trail riding and it decimates the Fox air can that was on there originally…the extra few hundred grammes are insignificant compared to the benefit of improved traction and damping. Im running a Lyrik Coil DH fork too. I dont think Ill be going back to air unless the weight weenie bug catches me again….

Ride it til it breaks…….its only a fork

    or

Practice on smaller drops (curbs will do) until your technique is down right and them migrate to larger drops.

Have fun which ever way you go!

Frames sell for between 600-800 on ebay – so with your shock maybe 850.
I think you'd be doing well over 900 TBH.
OOC, What would you be selling it for?

I just put a Cane Creek Double Barrel on mine and its unbelievably good!

Good to hear someone else has had a great experience on one of his days.
I've been building on what Tony taught me last month and found myself yesterday in a friendly competition with some lads seeing who could jump the furthest from a 6ft+ drop.
Pre Jedi days I would have taken the side route and rode round it and yet here was me yesterday seeing how much higher I could actually spring of it. I was spending so much time in the air I was getting bored waiting for the ground to arrive….time to start looking into some spins and whips to pass the time next I think. 🙂

Every now and again whilst I'm riding along good old Tony appears Obi-Wan Kenobi style and delivers one of his famous coaching phrases….pretty useful really, especially as he doesn't charge for this follow up coaching advice!

Got 950 sat on my shelf but haven't fitted it yet. Shame remote kit is months away…..might try and cobble together a diy job with my old reba lock out lever?

When I pop them back out they spin perfectly freely, put them back in and they start being notchy.
Pretty certain races aren't buggered, sounds like they aren't going in square then?

I had the same issue with my US based boss, hes a total plank but unfortunately no one else would speak up so I did. Long story short, he "sacked" me during my annual appraisal which technically he cant do but why should he bother learning the local laws that cover his staff. I raised it to HR who reviewed everything and basically gave me a big fat cheque to shove off quietly and not cause any more noise. He's still there causing grief and still no one speaks up.

are there any issues with hiring vans / people carriers and going to Europe with them from the major Uk hirers? Thinking Alps in July….any ideas of costs for something to transport 2 people and 3 bikes

I personally rate them, others hate them.
Transition to edge is sketchy but I quite like getting the bike over and drifting it around. Fast rolling, clear mud well and fairly light.
Rumour is (L)UST ones are on the way…..

crimp it – put a screwdriver across the back of the spade conenctor and whack it in a vice. Will make a solid connection. Witht hat much metal Im not sure you could even solder it – weld it perhaps!?

I signed up for c2w last year with my employer, on December 1st.
They made me redundant on the 11th….buggers
My 2cw voucher arrived mid Jan for £1k….
Its sat here winking at me….

Im thinking about buying a £100 bike to use and then splashing out on accessories like new Troy Lee D3 helmet & some POC body armour for the megavalanche.
Surely they wouldnt want used clothes & helmet back would they!?

    hmmmm…….

its not the half pound diff that will be the main difference, its the slacker HA that I think will have a greater impact from the non-HD(67 vs 69)….depends what you want out of it. I wouldnt use the HD as a predominantly XC bike.

bought a titanium one about 18 months ago….awesome bikes but you should consider it a long travel XC machine and not a short travel AM machine if that makes any sense. Only even run it in 5" mode with a 120mm Reba team fork up front. Definitely benefitted from a short stem (I use a 50mm Thomson) and wider bars (711mm Monkeylite DHs). Think its perfect setup like that TBH.
