Cluuber, if you don’t need the smaller of the jawbone nose pieces I’d be interested in them as i lost one of mine as the large are too big for my honk!

    Thx!

I got them for my Formula R1s and they were poor.

The connectors being the biggest issue. No bleed valve in the calliper nut made bleeding a nightmare. Wrong thread on the MC nut so had to reuse originals. Poorer quality barb thingy with no o-ring.
Not worth the hassle IMHO, might as well use Goodridge and do the job right.
Ive been meaning to email Superstar about their shoddy product.
Oh yeah, the standard calliper screw with brass washers osnt long enough to engage fully…..
    The hose was ok.
If goodridge is a 9/10, these are a 3 at best.

Loved it……don’t do resorts, go off piste but watch for dodgy areas of which there are a few.

A big +1 for jedi from me too, but there are negatives!

What tony taught me was not so much technique but a state of mind, confidence & commitment are key. Half arsed or tense approaches nearly always end in pain.
Problem is that as you grow, attempt and master bigger drops and jumps you eventually run out of two things, one terrain, local riding spots become tame and non challenging and then you have to start looking further afield for the next adrenalin kick. The other thing is bike, you realise before long that your previous 100/120/140/160mm of travel isn’t enough and you want to step up to something capable of taking bigger hits so you can search out the next big hit….
Im not sure what ends the cycle but my guess is plaster and an ambulance.

Tony is like a can of red bull, seemingly expensive for what you superficially get – but he really does give you wings!

    Highly recommended.

    Ps @ Tony: Demo8 inbound 😉

for £1k Id go and pick it up from the US – flights can be had dirt cheap and you can get some riding done whilst out there….

get a quote to ship first – it could wipe out that saving easily. I had quote of anywhere for $250 to $600 for a carbon frame. Its the size that kills it, not the weight. I got round it by having my buddy remove the rear triangle to get the size down….

just a quick update for anybody interested,

I’m still stuck between Commerzbank who say they havent got the funds as the account was closed and Winstanleys who says they were sent and wouldnt have been accepted if the account was closed.

End of the day I’m out of pocket which seems unfair.

Who can I escalate this to to resolve?

My z rims threw me a right cropper after a huge landing back in the day. Those things could have done with a rebound damper for sure!

The ndee was reduced a month or so ago to something around 800eur as well but it’s gone back up, pricing error or deliberate not sure.
After roger offered me his best price of 950ukp i ordered from bos directly to avoid missing out.
The fact bos didn’t inform their distributors of this price change for about 4-6 weeks is why previous distributors will no linger deal with bos. Getting parts, service etc has traditionally been a nightmare from everything i understand from previous owners.
Imm hoping roger at r53 will service these in time but as grey imports he would be in his right to tell those who imported to sling their hooks…whether he will or not i don’t know. From everything I read the damping is superb, but whether it makes up for weeks waiting on spare parts when needed is yet to be decided.

For anyone thinking of getting a pair, give roger a ring, sure he will sort you out and you can be assured of his attention in future if needed. He’s a god guy and always willing to talk and help customers.

Heard from roger at r53 UK price now £750.
Still cheaper to import directly I think, just….

I spoke to Roger the Uk importer at R53 the other day and he was adamant BOS werent selling these cheap and it was a pricing error – so I thought sod it, order a pair and see what happens. I have a feeling he’s not going to be happy when he hears BOS are shipping them out at 700quid a pair. 😕

    great info guys, thank you.
I’ll take a pop down to the local BS in Dorking who stock them and see whats what.
I’ve been very happy knocking around on an ‘old’ Lapierre Spicy but feel peeved at having to buy a full bike to just transplant all my bits on to it, in Lapierres wisdom they wont sell just a frameset hence looking at options now.
    thanks all

dont think they sold (m)any thus the price drop….they are cheaper than 36’s now though which makes them attractive.
Some comments I found compared them positively to the 36’s but with a touch more flex which the rider felt was a benefit (ref. boxxers vs 40’s)
Im thinking about picking a pair of to test out…..still on the fence as my lyrik coil DHs are pretty good.

You’ll go through 5 of the ebay ones in the same time as you would one of the official one. I did with my think pad one anyway.
Could be a good or bad thing depending if you have the 150quid lying around…..you could look at the bay ones as a way of paying in installments 🙂
More hassle than they are worth if you ask me……I’m not sure how safe they are either, with all the recent events of Sony etc having trouble with batteries bursting into flames i don’t think anyone is completely safe but the Chinese ones probably care less.

2010 ones and 09 r1s here both awesome.
Don't need constant bleeding and so long as pads bedded in I don't notice short pad life.

2009 ones were more hit and miss especially regards lever feel and engagement points.
