I’ve got a pair of the Hunt  XC Race and they’ve been really good (apart from a tape job that looks like a pissed hamster did it)

Agree on the sizing   I’m 172cm and ride mediums now.  Smalls feel tiny.  I have a 2023 Canyon Neuron in med and it’s probably closer to what you want

Thanks.  Yes, shame about the Ebike only

How technical are the stages?  Would it be fun for someone who’s a bit of a bimbler?

So are we!  Sans kids though and first time there so no advice to give.  Excited though.

Speaking of short cranks, does nyone know if you can use the Shimano Ebike crank arms on a standard manual XT drivechain?

Just got back, thought it was shit! (For all the reasons mentioned)

The lower blue / red trails are much better built and more fun.  A real missed opportunity imo.

Mine is on the edge, standover-wise.  I’ve got just over 30 inch inside leg.

I can standover the top tube but only just

I’ve got a 2023 womens medium and I’m 170cm.  It fits like a glove.  Personally  I wouldn’t want the small, it would be too small.

Canyon size guide is weird.   Also consider smalls are 27.5 so if she wants 29er she’d need a medium.

5’7 30.5 inside leg and just bought a new Canyon Neuron medium 29er and it’s really comfy.  I can ride it with a 170mm dropper and I love the big wheels.

As mentioned above, the new canyon neuron 2023 ticks your boxes and is excellent value. Brilliant all rounder, check out the mbr review.

In contrast, I prefer the aluminum frame to look at. In fact I liked the look of the aluminum women’s 7 so much I bought one!

Interesting. I’m similar but I run a 180mm one up dropper on my medium Aeris (405mm st) and a 150mm on my medium Trance (430mm st)

As you say seat tube kinks (or lack of) make a difference also.

It’s mind boggling to me that people would still want the faff of tubes these days. And the “oh look see you still got a puncture lmao tubeless sux I knew it I’m so much cleverer” stuff is hilarious. Yes I got a puncture what about the 50 I didn’t get in the last year.

Not super helpful but isn’t the lust more similar to the anthem? (I have one but have never changed the bearings)

I’ve got a 2.6 butcher tubeless on a stans arch mk3 no bother. Probably comes up a bit narrow, which makes me wonder if it’s worth it over a 2.3 but its not caused me any issues at all.

There’s a limit, surely? They’ve gone up so much in the last years. I don’t see how it can carry on really but it seems to be.

I also love nukeproof plastic ones and have them on all my bikes now. Purple for the win!

    1) posting that so confidently and not signposting that it’s only 3 months is pretty poor (or didn’t you notice, bikeforfreedom?)

    2) I’m in my forties, I had covid, I’m not dead. My lungs are **** though, and my heart races sometimes and I’m knackered all the time. I would have killed for a vaccine last March. Have your vaccines.

Yeah I think those grips add like 1.5cm to the bar width (or at least mine do).

Negative test result this morning (24 hours) but nausea, chest / rib / stomach pain and tight chest very similar to April so just acting as if I do have it as we didn’t get the test until 8 days after first feeling ill. Staying in and isolating.

Anyone caught it twice yet? I’ve got similar symptoms to March (was not tested then) and am off for a test tomorrow morning.

Get well soon. As others have said beware of false dawns, in some ways that was the worst part for me, thinking I was better then crashing again. Rest and don’t push yourself too soon is my advice. Hopefully you’ll shake it off soon, I know a bunch of people at my work did

As for time I reckon mine was 6 weeks initially, then ongoing recovery since

17 miles on the sussex roads and climbed up onto the downs today. Nice and gentle on the ebike. Maybe a walk tomorrow, definitely some stretching and core.

Yes I’m in, wi be good to have some extra motivation and I need to start getting back my lost fitness from this year. Gently though.. does an ebike count??
