As above, just check the terms of the finance carefully.
Eg IME BMW can be very generous with discount if using their finance, and can be paid off early (with only minimal ‘admin’ fee)

Buy with finance and pay off immediately.

    This

Just check no dodgy clauses on closing the finance out early (tho IIRC, don’t think they are allowed to do that any more..?)

You can argue all day about spending £200 on a 3 year old’s bike but it does not cost 60 quid to send a childs bike to belfast. Fair enough if you want to pay for the ‘premium’ kiddies bike but why should companies be making a profit on postage? Is it premium postage? Or parcelforce 48hr? I wonder.

My ’99 Zaskar. It still rides good without the rose tinted memory that affects many bikes from years gone by!

Some yummy Konas guys – defo would be keeping them.

    Thanks…

I have had a good look under the boards & joists. All seem to be fairly sound, no rot or anything like that.

Just not sitting firmly on the the supports. An eyeball investigation suggests that the supporting wall has dropped a wee bit.

It only affects the end support row, all others are sound.

But i want a floor that doesnt move so much.

Yuk. I have them too this year, never before – assume its just the good weather! Bleach / boiling water to clean bin til it’s sparkling but pesky maggots back after a week or so. Yes money saving council only collect every 2 weeks, so I don’t feel too bad that bin men are confronted by an army of wriggling rice!

BMW 3 series’ are fine if you don’t value your spine and hearing. They are the noisiest cars I’ve ever driven in terms of wind noise at motorway speeds and road noise (fair enough that could be down to run flat tyres) and the the suspension is intolerably firm

    Firm – yes.

Noisier than a Mondeo – don’t be silly

My Sky BB was notoriously slow. Hated the phone with Sky as you had to pay for caller ID and kept getting pestered by Sky sales people.

I am on the hunt for a Freesat PVR – is Humax really the only option?

    Anyone used any other ?

sky have become b*astards, put it up again by £1.50 they dont care if you go these days

    +1

I have always been able to get a 6 month ‘special deal’ but the best they could do this time was 25pct off the sports bundle.

    So i finally cancelled! :-)

TBH unless you can hunt down the fault i would disconnect it or pull the fuse on the circuit until someone who knows what they are doing can take a look at it.

Esecially if it’s not particularly modern wiring and you have no idea where it’s failing…

Lighting is usually radial (wired in a line rather than loop) so it’s quite possible that anything before the loose wire will still work ok.

If upstairs, pop into the loft and try to follow the wiring path.

Disclaimer – turn off power before fiddling too much

    Loose connection+1

Wiggling the cable feeding the switch you moved has probably pulled out a loose connection down the line, most likely in junction box which the switch cable may have originated.

Can you get to the floor above and have a snoop around under the boards?

Keep all the little bits in DIY organiser boxes (B&Q own brand are quite reasonable) Or if you want to keep certain sets together, try the Really Useful boxes or tupperware!

Any big ol tub will do for the bigger bricks (unless you like to keep sorted by colour / size etc!)

Yep, its hard to see in your pic but i think it is just a gap for a fire strip. Would have thought they would supply something to fill this in the frame kit? (either a fire strip or blank wood strip).

But looks like you dont need to recess the hinges. The wood strip should go flush with the hinge and the edge of the grooves.

Don’t bother with police, thought I would hand one in once. Took nearly an hour to get out of the place. Best just pop in the post to network ( on sim) and write freepost in big lettters on envelope 8)

Cheers dd – have noted your comments re fitting ply. I dunno, just something about the glue makes me wary but I will look into it a bit more….

    Thanks

    Vern0n

Cheers all. I am pretty confident the 18mm ply will be enough. Taking the boards up as they are pretty battered (and bit woodwormy!) and I want a nice flat base. I have fitted solid wood before (across existing boards) But not on ply…also don’t like the idea of glue fit!

It’s possible to add noggings to brace the joists but thinking this may be overkill?! It’s 5m x 2m so fairly small area…

Do you recall any impact / stress that would have caused the pain or has it gradually developed over time?

Either way i would go see a doc & specialist. Better to know what the prob is for sure so you can get it fixed or worst case, change your sports to suit (drastic i know!)

In the meantime consider a daily stretching routine…

I survived the hip jigging below but still have occasional pain & accept it will never be perfect!

Er, what do you want to teach him?

Mini-Vern loves his big sis’s baby pushchair! And the Hoover ™, and anything with a cable (extension leads, hair dryers…) Stacking cups and shape sorters are great, megablocks, little tykes quad bike all good for 16/18 mo’s.
But he really loves smashing offcuts of wood into walls / doors and putting toothbrushes down the loo!
