you buy a race bike and discover it handles like a race bike…. did you not read the specs before you bought the bike?

If you want a play bike DON’T buy a race bike…

To be honest i was the clueless consumer..The fact that the bike’s model had race in the title meant nothing to me..I thought the clue was in ‘mountain’ as it was sold as a mountain bike but found that it wasn’t actually much good at riding up and down mountains until i changed a few things on it.It’s still far from perfect but i get by on it.The rockhopper i tried last week was much better..It was also much faster than the cube so if i had a choice of the two bikes to use in a race i would choose the one, that according to the it’s model name,is only designed for hopping over rocks,,the word ‘Race’ nowhere to be seen

OK,,here’s a cracker.if you start at waterpark SE bank of Coniston, road south to Nibthwaite grange, turn left(east)tarmac climb to bridleway to Ickenthwaite(great fun)Road to church at Rusland..bridleway to Force mills,,road to satterthwaite..Bridleway(breasty haw and great wood)east towaards out dubs tarn(south of esthwaite)Road north then east at south end of esthwaite water towards Near sawrey..Bridleway north past moss eccles tarn to long height..bridleway west to Colthouse..Head to Hawkshead then in the village find bridleway(climb) towards hawkshead hall park then Moortop…Fireroad to Heald brow pasture then bridleway to low parkermoor then once you’ve taken in the views over coniston water take the fantastic bridleway downhill to High Nibthwaite,,left and you’re back at car.A good 25+ miles and a full day unless you go at racing pace

I had this with Tahoe’s except I had “hot-spots” on the MTB.

if you mean a dull burning sensation, then this is what i get,,not painful just very uncomfortable

Put 26″ wheels on her current bike? Just done it with my sons, should get another year out of it.

Eh,,it’s the frame that doesn’t fit her any more not the wheels and if i did that the brakes would get caught in the spokes

When i signed up a year ago there was no mention that i would have to sign an extended use agreement in order to benefit from the savings that other people enjoyed in the past.
When i signed up a year ago there was no mention that the market value of the bike could change after i signed up.
I see people defending cyclescheme bt these are generally the ones who benefited from a much bigger discount before cyclescheme changed things..
I would have been much better waiting for the sales where i could have bought a bike at the same discount(or more) without having to wait four years before i could call the bike my own.
That is why i think the scheme is tosh

Thanks for that but a bit OTT for my daughter,,was thinking more of something that will stop her losing skin rather than breaking bones
