    Guy who?

How long has he been a bike tester? Really hard to find out he keeps it quiet.

Just looking at Austria at the moment, trying to build in a stopover there maybe.

Slovenia is partly due to the Lipica Stud Farm, daughter rides and also near her birthday. Might sound like a crazy way to go for that but we’ve sounded them out and they are up for it if I can make a few other things fit. The drive doesn’t bother me.

Looked at flights but just too expensive for the extra hassle it’s a £1,500 flights and car hire.

Ideally I’d take them out of school for a day either side of half term and it would be a whole lot easier but we do that in May already. Not that I mind but the children don’t want to miss much school time (weird!)

Looks like a cool viewing platform in Salzburg?

I never count the driving until we get to Calais 😉

Does seem like we might need a few more days, but who knows it does look good. Travelman was really good – milk dispensing what’s not great about that!

3 children and we usually carry a ton of stuff, flying is rarely an option and then hiring a car big enough is always fun. Luckily I like driving 🙂

Point taken re the distance, not an issue on its own but maybe over 7 days a lot to fit in and actually have two minutes to see things.

Check your diet, regardless if you do have arthritis or not try to cut back on inflammatory foods (sugars, processed meats, refined carbs, booze etc).

Most doctors aren’t dieticians so usually medicine get prescribed (which is understandable as that is what they are trained in!)

Thanks Carlos – I’ll see how the day goes, never ridden in the Lakes before so shall just see how the pace goes and decide what I try to attempt, could be a great day out!

I’d already cleaned to cups etc.

I simply swap the fork and yesterday was the first silent ride in a long time 🙂

It was the fork definately – swapped them out for another pair and silent 🙂

They have always done it on and off but more off – all of a sudden seriously bad.

    I’ll contact RSF too.

    Cheers guys

Just googled CSU and eventually found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THTzhWTiNw0

I’ll give that a try after tea – sounds very familiar.

    Its got much louder recently.

This is true, I was in Grenoble with a broken Tib and Fib. They asked if I’d handed in my passport and they replied “oh good”, then asked that if it was a private hospital then I should get out immediately. Seriously messed with my head, I was helicoptered in so had zero control where I was off too.

Fortunately it turned out it wasn’t private.

Even if this is the case with other companies the way they dealt with it was awful.

Used Sports Cover Direct for my last trip and fortunately didn’t need it.

Hadn’t realised PedalCover did travel insurance, we use them for Home cover and their service is amazing 🙂

Interesting Iornholio I can try that. Its weird as I have two sets of wheels on the same rims and it’s only just started.

There is a big overlap, maybe I need to do 2 loops of the tape although might make getting the tyre on a bit trickier.

Yes appreciate the air might be exactly from the value, I suppose I could try another value too just in case the rubber bung (hope that makes sense) isn’t seating properly.

Think I worked it out looks like the hose was slightly twisted in the seat tube!

Also cold weather not helped, wife was out so set up a warm living room workshop 🙂 hopefully feels better tomorrow

    T6 LWB Caravelle for me.

I run it with all the seats in slide the bench forward a bit and if just me wheels off bike upside down and and in it goes, sometimes a couple of straps but not essential. Use a bit of old bike box on floor and to protect the seat back.

Also got a home made pressure washer in the back with 25l water – all fits easily with a few tools etc in the back.

Means loads of space to get changed in the back in shite weather. Old sheets on the floor if particularly nasty out.

As Scutler mentions just beware the roof lining.

In someways a van would be easier but quite honestly I love my setup, finish ride, fire it up, wash the bike, and usually its warming up nicely as I load the bike in to get changed.

If me and a mate go away the bench only needs nudging up a bit more. And for holidays with the children use a bike rack.

Have fun, I love mine 🙂

Can’t stand Zwift, tried it but something about it doesn’t work for me (my cadence wasn’t matching the screen – drove me nuts) . Love TrainerRoad but as someone said about at 2 rides a week that isn’t much to find significant improvements.

I find it a bit sad it can replace a lot of my real riding in the winter but the results speak for themselves, come the drier months I hardly touch TR but I find a great sense of achievement completely the harder sessions on TR. I guess the graphs work for me not the weird avatars pedalling about

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/find-out-if-a-person-has-a-record-for-child-sexual-offences

    Overview

The child sex offender disclosure scheme allows parents, carers and guardians to formally ask the police to tell them if someone has a record for child sexual offences.

The aim of this scheme is to keep children safer.

Blimey what a scary situation, like others have said, stay calm (very hard I’m sure). If I’ve read this correctly they aren’t allowed to be with your ex whilst her partner is about? If this is the case then they are safe at the moment, this is a positive. I wouldn’t suggest you speak to your children directly a professional will have ways of asking questions the right way which should be relevant to any concerns they have. Children can be very perceptive and asking things the wrong way will lead to them asking questions your might not be able to answer. I imagine the separation itself is something they are coming to terms with.

You will be entitled to answers somehow and really if they won’t tell and you can’t find out via the police of a private investigator (i think personally that is a great idea if no luck with the authorities).

The very fact they have said “<span style=”background-color: #eeeeee; color: #444444; font-size: 12px;”>I got a call yesterday to say “something” came back on his and the children aren’t allowed to go to with her tomorrow as they need to speak with them and likely she will only be able to see the kids alone from now on</span><span style=”font-size: 0.8rem;”>” demands explanation of that situation changes.

Someone will know his story and I’m sure this forum can assist to ensure your children are safe and you get the information you need.

Espace is great we have a normal size one but there is a Grand Espace available too. If I’m honest as the children got older it was a bit of a hassle getting there bikes in, We also have a Caravelle now and I use a rack on both cars generally unless just one of two bikes.

If you get a rack that slides away from the car it makes loads of difference, easy access to the boot when all the bikes are on the rack.

I always try to put my bike in the car but family trips always found it better to stick them on the outside. Rack gives you better options for holidays etc.

Drove a Skoda Superb the other day – it was only a base model but amazing space and well make. Compared to an A4 I had a while back I’d have the Skoda all day long!

Anyway personally I’d get an Espace and a rack – covers loads of options and you should get a good one at not crazy £££

Post a message here and 2 hours later weirdly the parts are in and I should have the car back next week! I even got a phone call!

Somouk – 65 plate Caravelle, hardly super new. Car hire a bit complicated to explain but now in a 7 seater so sort of comparable, we in an L200 for way too long – thats the complicated bit!

Wwaswas – that was my fathers suggestion 😉

Hopefully I will collect next week, all super clean and sorted and I’ll be happy.

    Thanks for the replies

And I trust no-one is jeopardising the Welsh cycling access campaign by jumping the gun and alienating mtbers

We’ve decided not to start there isn’t worth p!ssing people off, was 50/50 anyway but just not worth it.
