My 80’s Reynolds 501 roadie, had this bike for 25 years!

I’ve got last years version of this….

    I use it for everything….

Same here, I’ve found it to be a capable, reliable and (most importantly) fun ‘do it all’ bike.

Did a 24-hour enduro in really nasty conditions and it performed brilliantly 🙂

Changed mine to 2×10 (24/38 XT), changed the bars for ones with less backsweep, run Conti X-King 2.2 front and rear all year round and the job’s a good ‘un.

I’ve had an Allez since 2011 and it’s been great. The Felt F85 is a nice bike for the money too.

    Used to have this…

…but the frame was way too big for me so it’s now been transformed into this…

I’m running 700×28 Conti GP4s on 19mm rims and it works really well.

Used to have 23 but now on 28 (Conti GP4S) and prefer it.

Still recovering from a left knee ‘over-use’ injury I picked up last July, it’s improving but very slowly 🙁

Nice use of “Only” before the £10k price tag! Lovely bike though 🙂

The Whyte 729 at £1499 is worth considering too.

Working Fri & Sat but yesterday I took my freshly built Inbred 29er SS Rigid for a 12 mile ‘shakedown’ loop around the local trials (and got a few pics for the weekly photo challenge!). Nothing fell to bits so it went well 🙂

Great race, Cal was riding the wheels off that Yamaha to stay with those factory Hondas. Great to see Rossi back and mixing it at the sharp end too. Was out of my chair shouting at the tv for the last 4 laps!

It depends, threads with a small number posts are quicker to get through whereas threads with a lot of posts over multiple pages take much longer to read but can be more rewarding.

Could be a place for threads that are somewree between to two?

Got my entry in (this’ll be my third E2E) & looking forward to it.

Luckily, my house is a 3 minute freewheel from the finish line!

Croix de Fer’s a good choice, had mine a month and so far very happy.

    5 1/2 bikes:

    2 x Hardtails (1 x Carbon/Geared + 1 x Steel/Rigid/Single-Speed)
    2x Road Bikes ( 1x Geared + 1 Single-Speed)
    1 x CX Bike

…and a half share in MTB Tandem!

Yep, a wider chain (or a narrower sprocket!) should sort it 🙂

To reiterate, I love my Cube but the Whyte mud room is better even with it’s (claimed) 2mm shorter chain stays…

My single-speed roadie isn’t fixed as I don’t fancy pedal-strike while cornering on fast descents (some big hills around here).

I’ve got a 2012 Cube Reaction GTC SL 29 and it’s a great bike; light, fast, agile and a whole lot of fun – love it.

The only criticism I have is the lack of mud clearance between the rear tyre & seat tube, it’s not been a major problem for me but worth a mention if you’re often out in the mud!

The idea is that flat bars on a 29er HT keep your weight/c-of-g low and forward for climbing and fast XC riding.

Yep, I heard that Sleepwell Hotels withdrew their sponsorship but a deal’s now been done with a new sponsor for the next three years.

Make sure your gloves aren’t fastened too tightly at the wrist when you set off, allow for a bit of expansion so your circulation doesn’t become restricted (which will cause numbness) during the ride.

I’d recommend Specialized All Condition Armadillo Elite – Loads of grip mid summer or mid winter and bullet proof puncture protection.
