Ridden with Brendog a couple of times along with his brother christian and the guys from the LBS. Really nice sociable lot and the LBS guys are just as handy as Brendan on the local trails.

Are they actually going to continue with them or does brant hold the design rights?…sceptic in me thinks the latter.

brant is no longer at on-one and they have pulled the frames due to quality problems for the time being :(

Ah thats not too bad then. I’d rather they did that than keep changing dates etc. Hopefully it wont be too long then before they are back.

Ah I know how you feel. Did a boxing day fun run a couple of years ago (I never run only cycle) as the wife kept saying I should try running. Like yours. mine trail running up and down hills. At the time I felt ok, so much so got to the finish and then did it on the 29er.

Got home and I couldnt walk down stairs for 3 days…quads were fubar’d.

Havent run since, put me right off.

Its not just batteries. The single biggest cause of household fires is TV’s being on standby!!according to my local fire fighters. Scary.

on-one are good for merino at reasonable money. may be worth looking whether sport pursuit have any factory outlet deals at the moment on baselayers.

You cant actually navigate to those links above from the current site, so I would phone if you want to order as it wouldnt suprise me if they dont have any left. Could be waiting on the 650b version to come into stock perhaps?

Stick with the purgatory on the back and get a butcher for the front. Worked well in Surrey mud earlier this year for me.

Strange must be a browser thing as there is no frame or bike @ http://www.on-one.co.uk for me.

Yes, basically the key ways wear so the amount of movement increases. If it gets really bad it can be sorted as part of a service. Normal movement I would say was 1-2mm. Anymore and I would suggest sending it for a service :)

It seems size wont be an issue, the fact you cant buy them will be. They’ve gone from the website.

see other thread started today, not sure its still available. If that is the case thats a shame as its on my list for 2015

Could be an error on the site. No frame or complete bikes are officially there as you are quite correct the navigation to all mountain bikes has gone. Odd.

I think that it’s the pair of wheels which will be S/H once the Roams are available so that’s why they will be ‘worth’ £200 does that make sense?

Good deal, and for the LBS they have only taken a small hit on the hopes as they would only be paying slightly more than 200 trade anyway. So they probably used a bit of their margin on the bike to cover the hopes and keep you a happy customer and improve their cashflow…..thats what I would have done in their shoes, so well done them :)

    Madeira
Job done, best trails outside of the alps apparently.
20 degrees at that time of year.
Brendog et al highly rate it.
Not over commercialized yet either which is good :)

These are very good as your details are stored securely on a database rather than printed on the ID. A 24hour phone number and ID reference number is printed on the band so emergency services can phone and find out who you are. Details can be changed when you move house for example and include medical info such as blood types and any specific info…eg if you were diabetic etc.
Annual renewal around a 10er from memory.

interesting, many thanks. Will take the wheel out and try the test as above. Would be a real pain if they need to go back as Ive only just had them reduced in travel down to 130mm by LoCo.

Funnily enough Ive been getting a really annoying clicking that comes and goes not just under pedaling but also when cruising. Its not travel or bump dependent. In the end having cleaned and regreased everything, I put it in the stand and found I could recreate the noise by spinning the front wheel from stationary. It only clicked on the first revolution. I had to then stop and wheel and start again to get another click.

I run hope hubs, so took the end caps off and regreased the bearings, and touch wood (only been round the block since to test) it seems to have done the trick. Wondering if its something to do with the fork axle though?

my next shed will be a beast shed

Their secure sheds look ace. Few people on here have them and rave about them. Best bit is they include installation. All you need to do is put a base down for them.

130mm 650b full sus……whyte T130, new Transition. Im sure other manufacturers will be bringing out similar this year.

This way you get the best of both wolds as per your post.
Climb well, go downhill well and can still do all day rides.

Funnily enough one of mine has about 5mm of downward bounce when I sit on it hard enough when static. Thought it needed a bleed so just did that and found the pressure to be about 160 so pumped it back to 250. Return is nice and quick now, but what was more worrying was the fluid coming out of the air bleed valve…..Im guessing it needs a service. It is a few months over 2 years old which is a shame.

+1 for exposure. MaxxD on the bars and a gloworm X2 on the lid…..blinding, literally.

MaxxD two years old now and still going really well, especially as its used at least 2nights a week for a combined 6 hours. Battery still going strong with no drop off in performance. Crashed with it several times and only ever damaged the bar clamp.

is there still a market for the 300 plus brands

yes I believe there is. if u look at how well made they are and how long they last you can end up paying the same for cheap lights that keep packing up. also lowers the risk of battery packs blowing up and catching fire.

exposure for example are perfect for bar lights without the need for battery packs and cables so in my view worth every penny. I don’t mind cables from my helmet into a back pack but cables from my bars to frame is a real pain for me. add in the reliability and support from exposure I think they are well worth it. I know guys that have bought exposure lights through cycle to work scheme which makes it even less painful.

I will have a gloworm x1 with four cell battery pack for sale in the next week or so. quality is superb especially the completely waterproof rubberised battery pack. best I have ever seen. will be gong for 85 quid delivered if anyone is interested. makes a perfect head light as an addition to a bar light.

such a shame. but for me thats the nail in the coffin for Cotic. their inability to send out a frame on any day apart from thurs/fri when they bulk shipped their goods was just plain silly in this day and age. now with manufacturing issues as outlined in other threads i don’t think the brand will survive. they will always have their staunch fans but that isn’t enough these days. let’s hope they get back to the drawing board and come out with something truely stunning.

If its not too old, its probably covered under warranty. Check with your LBS. Otherwise probably a new lever assembly including reservoir.

^ as daver27 days. LBS is wrong in that it wont sort itself out just by shoving the wheel in and doing up the clamp, the seal needs to be seated correctly. Bit fiddly but definitely needs doing by the sounds of it. Ive had this problem a couple of times now.

Nah, want the full RCT3 so ordered some 650b 150mm from CRC today for 506 less a £12 code kicking around which is pretty good for a UK supplier.

Thanks for the heads up Scott.
We are having the same problem at the devils punchbowl, especially with parking on the quiet road. Biggest problem at DBP is lack of signage informing where riders can/cant ride. One of the guys got balled out by the ranger for riding on what was the line of the old A3. But with no signage and everyone including dogs and horse riders on it, it was fair game and the ranger was politely informed about lack of signage and we hadnt perfected the art of mind reading quite yet.

    fun and games

many of the major brands don’t need any brand building or massive marketing investment by the uk distributors… and personally I think that old excuse is a bit thin in this day and age. if u look at the prices other eu countries can retail the same brands at, there is a fundamental issue somewhere. why that is I’m not sure but some one out there should be able to explain. many big brands simply bury their heads in the sand assuming no one compares pricing across continents.

note: edited to say even when you take into account currency exchange and shipping some margin dfferences are shocking

Yep, great guys up at TamedEarth. Some very nice stock and over the last year they have built up some fantastic custom builds. Good demo fleet to boot. Some nice new brands on their way too for the next model year.

I got the 800 at xmas in the amazon deal. I only use it on the road bike and recently used it in anger as part of a 50mile charity ride up north. I uploaded the official route and it worked a treat apart from trying to send me round roundabouts the wrong way (which is a common problem with garmins according to many). Bearing in mind I didnt know where I was at all, it navigated me perfectly from Wakefield to Manchester over the pennines (including city centres).

Data collection from sensors is spot on and easy to setup. Customisation is good too. Free OSM maps available which helps.

I did think about the 810, but pairing with a mobile isnt something I would use on a regular basis. As said by many above it only uploads to garmin connect which is getting worse as a usable tool (now only uses elapsed time which is a pain). I only use strava now. Tracking would have been neat, but if I had crashed the phone would have probably died anyway so probably not as useful as first thought. The difference in cost between the 800 and 810 is such that I would simply go for the 800.
