Not got the HTC, but do use ICS without those problems. Stock browser is generally crap. As for the YouTube videos, do they work ok from the YouTube app?

Very enjoyable, sad that we can’t boast anymore about all bits of a major project like the Underground being made in Manchester, Middlesbrough, Glasgow etc.

(awaits first post along the lines of 50K to hit two buttons)

No problems with mine either, had a fair few heavy crashes and I’m no featherweight :-)

Toby1 the Nexus S should of updated before Christmas (mine was done about Dec 11, on Yodafone) no ROM modding required. Only issue I have so far is Sky Go only works on versions 2.2 & 2.3 so I can’t try it out!

Need to get hold of Foxyrider off of here, he has written up this maintenance procedure and seems to know the most about them. Mine had the opposite problem in that it was a bit stiff to lower, fixed by slackening the seat collar DOH!

When pressuring it, was it upside down with the lever depressed as that was what I did wrong first off. Mine is the remote version as well which seems to be very fussy about the angle of the cable run at the bars.

Looks like there may be a shortage of fireworks soon as well. Can I stockpile some next to the jerrycans?

Could always try Glen Tilt, park up at Blair Atholl, some good stuff around Pitlochry as well just ask at the bike shop on the way in. How far North do you want to go?

Gradually moving back to Shimano after one to many breakages, like the front mech snapping in half maybe just my luck though

gavtheoldskater – I’ve just moved from the cheapo Wilkinson Sword DE, that Boots stock, to a Merkur 933 Travel razor. I used the Wilkinson Sword one for about a year before deciding to change, main excuse was to get one a bit more compact for travelling, and I can honestly say there was an improvement in closeness of shave but it wasn’t a gigantic leap forward in performance. I tried the new razor first with the same blades I’d already been using which may explain it, since then I am on Israeli blades which are way better so next I may put these blades in the Wilkinson Sword razor and see what happens.

I’ve recently started using The Ethiopian Coffee Company, only had a few bags but so far impressed. More impressed with the missus buying me a Delonghi bean to cup machine for Christmas :D

They work great, have had two sets so far but went for the Rud Soft spikes this time around to see if they give a bit more assurance on hard compacted ice. No problems driving distances on them did one journey of 30 miles on them last year (M73/M80/M9), including sections of tarmac at 60, they did smell a bit after that though :D

Use them on a Vito by the way.

MDF’s the only way to go, as long as you aren’t fussed about getting a fancy profile. Once painted they look like painted skirting boards just depends if you want to avoid the new house look, and go period I guess :-)

I can offer some wholemeal bread to go with that if you like. Just handmade my first ever loaf, hasn’t turned out too bad either :-)

Don’t want to state the obvious but here goes anyway!! The only way I get the rear wheel tight on my Meta is to brace one side of the swing arm against my legs while pushing the other swing arm in towards it, then doing up the QR. Normally get another five to ten turns on the nut that way. I know that is probably telling you nothing you don’t already know though :D

Been down this route as well with Juicy 5s, eventually got fed up of rebuilding every couple of rides (only the front one never the rear one) so I binned them and bought a set of Hopes. No maintenance all year :-)

Not sure if this info is still correct but here goes :-) The AV senders don’t send full HD so if you want/need Sky HD you need to use CAT5 senders, or do what Saccades has done.

I use a Cablesson HDMI over CAT6 sender, and a 1×2 HDMI splitter. Obviously this still means that what is on in the lounge is the same as in the bedroom.

As above, what browser are you using. Firefox can be troublesome with Sagepay sites, sees it as cross scripting.

Flashes when the doors are locked and alarmed, as said above, but if you mean the alarm is on and it isn’t flashing (or is very faint) check for an earthing problem

You basically have 3 choices, in (my) preferred order

Towbar mounted, need to check cost of getting one fitted though
Roof mounted
or inside the vehicle

I personally can’t stand the boot mount racks never feel secure.

After that then you can’t go far wrong with Thule, check roofbox.co.uk out

Ah sorry, missed that bit!

When doing my forks (’09 Floats) I just got the 10wt green, mainly because it said performance :-) , and the Float fluid as advised by Mojo when I rang them. The Float stuff is for lubing up the foam seals before installing.

Other oils can be used, sure there was a thread about that a few months back

Not sure if it helps but I got one made for the inside of the van. But maybe you don’t have the room inside for that!

Been riding around on the 2.4 Black Chilli Protection version for the past month, got them from Rock & Road in Stirling (my LBS), replaced a set of Maxxis HR’s. So far so impressed, not quite as good on damp rock or in mud as the HR’s, but infinitely better for maintaining speed.

They are a bit better in the mud now that I’ve lowered the pressures in the front, but it still wanders a bit. Cornering requires confidence, because they drift then bite which is great fun.
What took the most to get used to was the noise from the rear tire on tarmac, it sounds like you are riding along with a flat tyre!

Overall would buy them again. Also contrary to the website the protection is UST compatible (well according to the box I haven’t tried yet).

Sorry about not responding earlier, work got in the way. If ophcrack didn’t find a password try one of the other utilities mentioned above (or google xp password recovery), now that you have a boot cd it shouldn’t take long. Ophcrack tries a brute force dictionary attack if memory serves, so just cause it failed doesn’t mean one of the others won’t work.

Guessing the CD didn’t get created properly, if you open it on the mac is it a load of files or just one *.iso file?

Try following this as it also mentions ophcrack which normally works.

Apologies if this is what you have already done though :-)

I guess you have already tried Edinburgh Bike. Their service page mentions bearing service. Could always give this lot a call, no experience of them though, just came across them while googling.

Just done mine for the first time too. Not really felt much difference, but it has stopped leaking :-)
Only trouble I had was the left fork leg required a lot of “persuasion” to free itself, but then this is the first time in two years they’ve been touched.
