    I pay £120 a month and @forlone hope: thats not the council's fault is it? That's your fault.

    @ebygomn; clearly not or I wouldn't be asking on a forum and as coffeeking said its not the point. Part of my council tax is put towards bin collection; mine doesn't get collected properly, so why should I be paying the full amount?

    @mrmo: where do you live? I live in a city. Providing street lighting isn't guaranteed but providing a wheelie bin service when ours only gets collected every 2 weeks is supposed to be

    St John Street Cycles in Bridgwater tried to do the bike pub idea years ago; it failed miserably*. Think it got turned into a niche restaurant then cafe and now a normal pub again? iirc

    *disclaimer; that may have been due to it being in Bridgwater and nothing to do with the idea at all…

    I've ridden on a short term test. Really really liked it.

    Climbed very well, even on wet slippery horrible loose rocky stuff. Climbed lovely too and flew around tight technical singletrack.

    Get one on demo from a SC dealer. Only way to know whether you'll like it or not.

    I’m with coffeeking completely on this. Most of the rest of you sound dead miserable and are prob on the wrong side of 40.

    I had a leavers ball/prom/whatever you want to call it, I paid (not my parents) for a decent rented suit and split the cost of an old school limo between 6 friends. It was the last time I saw many of them and will remember it for a long time yet.

    The kids today love it, so why not let them enjoy it? They’ve just finished their exams, a long time at school so why not do something a little different?

    Or did most of you finish your O Levels and then go straight down the pit to work?

    Pikes are nice, but too heavy by about 1.25lb. If you need a 20mm axle on 140mm, you need better hubs.

    What?!
    There is NO hub in this world that can make a fork equally as stiff as a 20mm axle. I’m with Gary Lake on this one.

    lol I wish. By the sounds of it (if wetgrassagain paid his invoices), I’d be rolling in it by now.

    The OP is also very vague about what is being “supplied”. And now the “supplier” is a broker.

    a)why are you on here if you now have so much work to do “trawling through all the paperwork with a fine tooth comb”?

    b)how many invoices have you not paid him?? You sound worse than he is! If your slack at paying, I’d be putting my prices up to, as I wouldn’t be able to rely on you to pay quickly to pay for my own bills, so would add more on top to compensate for any credit I had to take.

    c)why and how have you only just noticed that the invoices are wrong. It sounds as if you haven’t a clue how to run a business properly.

    tiltshift is short-term gimmicky bollocks which appeals to the sort of film makers who like to use loads of different pre-set transitions and effects

    Short term? Really? That’ll be why some of the biggest and most amazing advertising companies in the world are playing around with tiltshift to see exactly what they can achieve with it. There will be a few massive tv campaigns coming out soon(ish) which use this “short-term gimmicky bollocks”

    eldridge – Member

    the music is copyright protected and the film-maker is ripping someone off by using it in this context

    2. find or create music which doesn’t violate copyright

    Do you do that as well then? Because in this thread: http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/can-you-download-music-from-youtube you quite clearly use something to enable you to download/rip/record music that is playing from an internet source which is almost def going to be copyrighted.

    But I predict that, a year from now, tiltshift will be dead and gone, an ex-technology, pushing up the film-making daisies, it will be no more, it wilL be the Norwegian blue of video gimmicks

    You’re wrong. Oh so wrong. Would you like to put some money on that? In fact a lot of money on that?

    eldridge – Member
    I have made no tiltshift videos, for reasons which must be obvious, so cannot comply with your suggestion that I post one.

    He didn’t ask for a tiltshift video; he asked for any video you’ve made. So go on then, show us something amazing you’ve made. (And before you ask me to show mine; I’m a designer who builds the sites that all these “cheesy effects” go on to, not a video producer)

    Why not use iTrader?
    Its a direct plugin to the forum.

    Description:
    iTrader has evolved from Trader Ratings for vB 3.0.x which evolved from Buy/Sell/Trade User Rating System for vB 2.x. This is a rating system for when members buy / sell / trade items from each other (presumably on a FS section of your forum). It is somewhat based on the honor system since there is no automatic way to truly tell if they did engage in a transaction. iTrader came about because it was a pain to try and maintain a single thread listing good / bad traders and so far has worked out quite well.

    Features:

    * Rate another member: Positive / Negative / Neutral
    * Specify in each transaction: Buyer, Seller, or Trade
    * Leave multiple comments about the deal
    * Dates & IPs are all recorded to prevent abuse
    * Specify a thread URL to the deal
    * Advanced URL checking
    * Display ratings over time
    * Filter based on Buyer/Seller/Trade/or feedback they left for others
    * Users can edit/delete ratings left for others (time based limitation)
    * iTrader Admins can edit/delete anyone's ratings (just incase)
    * PM notification when new rating or comment is left
    * Per-usergroup permissions
    * Lots of admin controllable options

    There are various mods available as well.

    No, I ride my bike most of the time, and find your attitude a bit concerning. Sorry for the jibe but it makes me pretty angry that you’re saying that when a cyclist gets run over for doing nothing more than using a road they’re legally entitled to ride on, it’s somehow their fault.

    Get off your high horse Anthony (for once). He didn’t say it was the cyclists fault at all. He said that driving along country lanes could be dangerous at whatever speed the motorist is doing.

    I find your attitude a bit concerning, but thats got nothing to do with this thread.

    and edit/ back on topic: my thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. rip.
