I’ll happily engage a solicitor? I now see it as my duty to cause thousands of pounds worth of damage to CRC.

Wasn’t a puncture. The tyre exploded. The tyre ripped accross the sidewall. The rip was perhaps 200cm in length. It wasn’t a puncture.

My NEW Intense tyre from CRC exploded causing £100 of damage.

Do CRC care? No. What a bunch of clowns.

I have bought loads of led lights over last few years. So cheap now… unless you are buying from the UK…

I have the one in the first post. It’s a great light.

I also just bought the 5 x cree t6 trustfire with 10000mah battery.. i looked into it on high when i got it.. it was like being on mushrooms for much time after.

I was in this situation 10 years ago. My bike was stolen from a house share I was in whilst ALL 5 of us were at home. The insurance replacement was fast (within 1 week I had a new identical bike). On my first ride on the new bike I see the old one outside a cafe. I phoned my friends and the police and locked my new bike to the old one. A big guy started kicking off about ‘his bike’. My mates arrived and all hell broke lose. The police were next to useless. I was able to prove the bike was mine but they let the big **** go and then they made a big thing about me contacting the insurance company. I contacted the insurance company and they let me keep both bikes. These were +£1k bikes.

But your question is more about your injured masculinity right? You felt weak cos you didn’t kick off ninja style? Don’t beat yourself up. We’re not all ninjas.

I used to spend most of my money at CRC. I can’t stand the new site, it really is awful.

CRC’s new site has pushed me toward Merlin, Ribble, Parkers, highonbikes..

I will never like CRC’s new layout and I no longer have the inclination to navigate it.

I have just realised I am being unfair. I am not really feeling the new website and I use a 43in Plasma as a monitor. I don’t like change. I liked the old format. It was a favorite actually.

I like CRC though and appreciate the bargains when they come up.

I hate the new CRC website. It’s too fussy and complicated and clunky.. I went to select some tyres yesterday and then just got fed up waiting for the correct tyre size option to highlight..

There was nothing wrong with the previous website design. It was better.

Also, I agree.. they don’t have the bargains like they used to have.

It is truly frightening that you believe everything you have been told.

Also a concern that you cannot debate without resorting to insults..

So closed minded and indoctrinated that you buy everything that mainstream media and government tell you. Truly this frightens me.

Anyway, you carry on, pretend you have won, extinguish the debate, everyone will agree with your mainstream installed view.. The End.

    Pathetic.

I might need to eat humble pie…

Got my pick out.. removed the bearing covers and had a good clean out and all seemed fine.. so what is it that causes the notchines when at rest? All bearings seem shiny and well.. maybe I misjudged them..

I repacked them with some Silkolene Pro Rg2 motorcycle bearing grease which is the yummiest grease I have ever played with and all is good. All smooth.

I dunno. Been a long week/month. Hellish in fact.

I still run Pikes. I remember when the 32mm stanchions looked so huge.. now they seem so skinny.

Bought my dual airs about 3 years ago for £300 new from Germany.

    Global warming is a fraud.

They had to rebrand it climate change when the date didn’t support warming.

Climate change is yet another fear tactic used by the elite, to keep the masses inline, and line the pockets of bankers etc with carbon credits and also serves nicely to deindustrialise the West.

It’s bullshit for you folks that believe everything you read in newspapers or see on the BBC.

Even David **** Attenbrough feeds you the shit… and you lap it up.

Gently Tying off (or elastic bands) your lever every night is a good idea, I know some motocross types who did that.. it works like a mini-bleed, forces bubbles into top reservoir. Keeps everything firm for longer between bleeds. I do it regularly.

Both my bikes still run original Pikes.

Coil on one bike and dual air on the other.

You could throw something else in there to liven things up..

On my lime mmbop, I went with black and gold/brown.. brown/gold cables, ferrules, cable crimps, BB, presta caps, etc.

With the blue you could maybe go for the complement i.e. maximum contrast – orange grips and cables? Orange something here n there?

Yep. Let’s not focus on the bankers and the career politicians. Let’s not talk about China destroying the global economy by pretty much being all of the global economy.

Let’s bash the poor. Divide and conquer.

Something similar happened to me 10 years ago. 4 people in the house. No one heard or saw a thing. 2 weeks later I saw the bike and got it back.

Trust me on this one. Suffered anxiety most of my life.

Best thing I ever tried, pretty much a cure actually is taurine. It’s a natural component of the diet, and makes up something like 0.1% of our bodyweight. It has been found to be low in those with depression and anxiety and research also shows it is useful for bipolar and seems to lessen the desire for alcohol (some doctors prescribe an analog of taurine to treat alcoholism).

I buy mine from ebay in 1kg bags. 1kg bags last ages because 3 or 4g a day is more than enough to scale my anxiety down.

Interestingly it is found in very high amounts in energy drinks, about 1g per 250ml can. I have always thought it interesting that energy drink manufacturers place it in their drinks in such large amounts. It probably takes a whole week to even get close to 1g of taurine from food.

I also found inositol useful but taurine I found to be better and cheaper.

Do with that what you will.

    I love Hope.

They are not to blame for outboard bearings. I just think they could come up with something better than the current plastic disc.

I think the plastic top hat makes more sense.

On systems like Hope the spindle will turn to some degree in the inner race, even on a fresh install. It’s inevitable. The top hat allows for a tighter fit. Forgive me, but a tight fit between bearing and spindle makes more sense than fairly free metal to metal contact. Plus grease. It’s counter intuitive. I think. Therefore I am.

Anyway, to add more to this story. It seemed the bearing hadn’t seized. Just by hand I couldn’t overcome a glitchy notch. A tiny bit more force and it turned. So it must have turned inside normally. Still marks the spindle though, as I said.

I’m pretty sure I read that KMC make Shimano chains.

I like the gold KMC chains. Also been impressed with Connex.

Come to think of it, I have seen new bikes with Shimano chains but KMC quick links in the showroom.

Don’t forget we need to know how many were wearing amazing plastic crash helmets that save your life and protect your body and legs. We are also missing information regarding the value of the homes the casualties/victims lived in.

I got a nicked bike back a few years ago. It was still in the area. Keep eyes open in second hand stores, stick some pics up on lamposts, offer a reward for good anonymous snitch that gets bike back..

I got almost killed by a Dairy Crest milk delivery driver a year ago. Dairy Crest. Dairy Crest you say? Yes, DAIRY CREST. He attempted to push me into oncoming vehicles whilst laughing. As I slowed, he slowed. As I sped, he sped. I couldn’t get past him and then he pushed me into oncoming cars. I was stuck in the middle of the road and luckily I was ok. As he went past he did a **** sign and shouted at me to **** off. T’was a funny DAIRY CREST driver game. Oh how I laughed a milky ha ha DAIRY CREST laugh. I phoned the company and they did nothing.

Ah. Dairy Crest. Great drivers. Great milk. Great drivers.

I’m laughing myself silly at those who say I haven’t had any problems with 5 years of use blah blah still spinning free blah blah blah never taken it apart blah ha ha blah

Yeah. Sure. Guess what. You’re spindle is likely spinning in your inner race on your once a week in 5 years bike ride.

    Thanks handyandy..

Lots of stupidity in this thread. Those claiming there isn’t an issue. I wonder if they are shills or just once a week riders? Either way, trying to make out that I am imagining all of this when at least 5 people in this thread have expressed agreement is somewhat irritating. To the degree that I wouldn’t necessarily ask any technical questions on this forum. I just wouldn’t trust the responses.

    Hope’s plastic disc. Yorkshire Fail.

I am underclass. Non-class. In a constant state of anxiety due to the dishonest **** who lead my country and the world.

I keep getting knock backs, so any aspiration I had has been totally destroyed. That’s saying something for this once text book persevering and ambitious Capricorn. My degree and masters now almost irrelevant.

Never bled a Shimano, but usually a poor bleed is because air is getting in somehow, between bleed kit and brake usually. I bleed up and down whatever the brake, up down, tap, tap, up down, injecting the fluid both down stream and up stream slowly, many times, tapping as I go. Then last push is of course upstream and I try and close off the system as quickly as possible.

A good seat can make all the difference. Something fat and not too heavy and you might not need the squishy seatpost. Slightly fatter tyres can also help, what size you run? I run 2.3’s on my hardtail. Usually fat seats are not top of the range and so are cheap. I like cut away saddles. Best one I ever used was the cheap Specialized Body Geometry, but they don’t do that one any more. Shame. Best seat ever. I now use Selle SMP TRK and Specialized Sonoma.
