SimonB yes sorry head tube is correct.

Tracker1972 be assured I won't be putting chidseat on back thinking of just scrapping frame as is, but as it's 95% built I may have a soft ride on it and see what happens as junkyard suggests

coogan – I am going to ride my Scott too but as I had so many spare bits after upgrading it I thought I would build another bike so that I could have options of full suss and HT, plus can put childseat on HT.

timber – fair point, just don't want it to snap on a rocky downhill. but I suppose worst case scenario I need another £40ish frame and some stitches

    oh fek in deed!!

not nice sounding operation but at least they found it before is nipped an artery or the worst could have happened – heaven forbid.

the company I work for makes bits for replacing spinal discs etc so I am sure you'll come out ok, as for riding quiz the surgeon on worst outcome, although they'll always tell you to expect the worst case scenario so if your recovery is better you will be overjoyed :D

    good luck

so jealous of some of the garages pictured I really need to get mine sorted out somewhere near to those of chopper/chucky.

guess it won't cost much to do.

Mine is damp though as it's single skinned any ideas how to rectify that cheaply?

Winter just adds an addition challenge to the ride.

Trails can be transformed in the winter into technical tests and the extra muck just helps towards extra fitness.

Maybe issues wrecking trails but as long as we/I take it easy just helps keeping the vegetation back.

out Saturday at stupid o'clock, missed most of the rain but the wind was like dragging a Bob trailer up the Machen hills.

Mud wasn't a problem just the ankle deep leaves, hiding rocks and branches 8O

have a look at the forums above there are a number of regular rides that you could join up on.

The blackwood rides are always a good laugh with a mixed bunch of talent

A lab could do it, just make sure you get one from working dog stock, those are usually the big head, slim bodied labs not the built for comfort massive labs like I used to have.

My sister has a black lab from working dog stock and is an awesome trail dog, loves it.

Been on rides with a collie too and that kept up well too.

could also look at spaniels, lurcher, greyhound,

I guess like a human, allow the pup to develop, don't do too much too fast and then build the mileage up over a year and I'm sure whatever dog you choose they will become an awesome trail dog.

I'm thinking of getting a dog for the same purpose too

it's a good trail to do if the weather is good there are large parts of it are very exposed so in the Winter it could be very bleak on a bad day but equally stunning on a frosty morning.

Guess depends what you like to ride, if you prefer a proper mountain ride with some fast singletrack with distance all in then this is fairly spot on, otherwise you could loop the other trails in Nant to fill a day easily

me too smashed 3 so far in past year.

now use a crystal case – cheap from market trader and a berghaus mobile phone holder from Cotswold then in pocket or camelbak as you so far no problems even with a few offs and occasional lie downs – works for me :D

well what have I stumbled on!!

I love the way everyone now hates Audi drivers what's all that about??

For sure they are growing in popularity.

I blame the company car fleet companies who I get mine from as you can get better spec as standard on an A4 than a standard 3 series so most of us reps go for the Audi hence the increase numbers on the road.

Benefit – more secondhand so 2/3 years down the line into Auction and the normal family guy will be buying them for £8k and hey presto more day running lights!!

I've owned every A4 since they were first launched after the 80/90 model and I now have one of these sinfull "new" A4's with day running lights.

The LED ones are a upgrade but included on some models, the majority are not LED.

As mentioned in prior posts there is an auto switch so they can easily be switched off. But most folk are lazy and like the auto function, plus they are nbeing fitted to more and more cars so get used to it!!

I have also had Volvo's and think the day running lights are not a problem you obviously notice them more otherwise this thread would not have started!!??!!

Side lights with fogs are a different matter!!!
