ok I know I am panicking a tad but feeling the pressure of my team giving me grief if we don't get in :(

    HAHA only joking.

fair play to the folk who drive there true commitment to the cause, if I did that the misses would definaltely think I had a bolt loose lol.

OH well see what this week brings.

When do you know if you get in or not??

The server wouldn't cope. It's the same reason all really popular events (Fred Whitton Challenge etc) use post, it's the easiest and fairest way of doing it. Last year the organiser of the Fred Whitton had people driving to his house but he stopped that this year by announcing he'd take in all entries then have a random draw out of all received entries.

I guess so as it's a popular event, but you get where I am coming from?

Just don't like sending cheques out – what if they cash it and I we don't get a team spot – what a hassle trying to get money back – much safer if credit card/paypal/bacs linked on an online entry

    just my thoughts

Same as popular rock concerts/festivals etc, they manage online entry ok, true maybe bigger budgets and all.

On the other hand nice to use "old fashioned" methods I guess and adds to the excitement if we do get a team spot.

Don't tell everybody about them otherwise they might become too popular and the quality will go down

Hope you had the mash and gravy with them as well!

Haha yep had the works with mushy peas too :P

even contemplated mail order but will just sample a few now and again when working in Bristol – dont want to return to "the one who ate all the pies"

If I can be bothered I'll rinse my kit off before bunging it in the machine or I wang it in straight out of tug bucket before the misses notices, then just wipe door seals down and voila clean kit :-)

just a pain in the arse you can't tumble dry most mtb gear  so always draped over rads etc

At Cwmcarn today nice and quiet, trails ok bit icy/snowy but still ok, going to be well dodgy rest of the week if it freezes as all singletrack climbs were starting to ice over.

    Good fun though :D

as midlifecrashes says Shimano dual controls would be perfect for you.

I've used them and they are so simple to use, miss them on my Zesty for sure

done it loads, but our 2 girls used to long trips in car, as rellees in Scotland.

Think about a lie down car seat, like a Jane MAtrix type as not good for little 'uns to sit up for long periods seemingly.

Second window blinds or tints (sometimes dodgy abroad) blinds a safer bet.

Aircon is a must too to keep you all sane

Samsonite baby pod tent is what we used, packed really small and looker really comfy too

    Good luck Hora

Just changed my Genius for a Zesty and wow I love it Zesty feels so nimble and quick in comparison, just wants to be ridden faster :P

My Genius was/is awesome downhill though, strong and dependable just point and go where as I can seem to "float" a bit more on the Zesty.

It'll be fine, I went around there 2 weeks ago a tiny touch mucky in places but then it is Feb.

I'm sure after 2 weeks of fairly dry weather it'll be nie on bone dry.

I did a night ride at Cwmcarn on Thursday and was amazed it was like high summer quite dusty it was a nice change having dusty stantions

Weather looks great today – there will be no rain – Derek says so!!!

depends what the car is who did the repair and does it have any warranty??

personally I wouldn't risk it, would fancy being in a motorway pile up in a car that's already been crashed.

If you've got kids surely it's not worth the risk even if you're saving a bundle

If it's only a day in just give them time.

Your new dog is also still getting used to her new environment so give her a week to get used to your house and all the new smells etc.

You don't say how old they are as they may have not established who is top dog yet.

Maybe one good scrap and then they will decide who is boss and then thing will settle down as a good pair of mutts.

Imagine if you were put in a room with someone you didn't know maybe you would be a bit guarded too judging who was going to take the lead.

So in short give them time to settle and they'll be ok

You'll have a blast, I love night riding.

Definately if you're riding alone take it easy and tell someone where you are going and roughly how long you will be – seriously, as a group we've had a few crashes on night rides and if I/we were on our own it wouldn't have been funny!! 1 guy slipped right to the bottom of the stream, down the steep bank on the first climb on the Cwmcarn XC course, took 3 of us to pull him and his bike back up!!

He was ok but a tad shaken and now skips that bit by scooting up the fire road!!

But do get out there and have fun
