I've been back riding for the last year after a 20 year break!!

Wow what was I missing – I'm having so much fun with this sport!!

I've met some great people and explored some amazing landscapes and the best thing is I'm probably fitter than I've ever been

    I love pasta

make a daddy special – here goes

    olive oil
    onion
    garlic
    pepper
    italian herbs
    red chillies
bacon or chorizo or smiliar spicy sausage or chicken

Put in a frying pan and cook off

Whilst pile of pasta of choice is cooked

When pasta cooked, drain and tip into frying pan to get all the flavour out of pan.

Tip into big bowl grate some cheese of preference on top, ground pepper and lashings of tomato sauce

    Lush

could eat it all the time :P

chiefgrooveguru – check out classified I've picked up a couple of pairs of as new baggies in past month for usually more than half price.

Maybe worth trying a second hand pair and if you don't like them sell them on again

well if foot still swollen I'd hang fire – don't risk it in other words!!

It'll be worth the wait in the end – you don't want to rush it and end up being pinned again.

slowly slowly and all that

    good luck

    great – just got one

mine seems ok, I haven't washed it yet I have been hand washing mine without detergents it to try and look after waterproof coating.

Probably continue doing this with the odd wash with grangers to reproof now and again, with a tumble dry heat treatment too.

rutts are my downfall – I just seem to ramp up them!!

Changed from a highroller to a mountainking 2.4 and that's seems to have helpeda as the rounder tyre just bounces off the edges where the highroller would just climb them and spit me out!!

I just try and relax my body as much as possible and float on downhills – sounds weird but works for me.

As said before concentration is big factor

    Sheep too

On an Ambrose adventure, (just finished ride, bikes back in cars driving to the pub for a pint and pig snacks) it was a warm summer evening and loads of sheep were sleeping on the warm tarmac road, the sods wouldn't budge so we had to swerve around them – bizarre

We were out last night for a 3 hour night ride – the stars were amazing.

Went up Rhigos road, through to Skyline and then back over to Aberdare with a fast and furious decent into the country park around 10.30pm – bloody fricken freezing but great fun

I run a joystick2 on the helmet and a enduromaxx2 on bars and find them awesome, plenty of light for me.

some friends use ay-ups which are unbelieveably good – like a car head light!!

others use the 900 lumin dx light and that is really good too

but exposure for me win as no cables (apart from piggy back of course)

there's regular night rides in North Cardiff, Afan, Cwmcarn, Swansea, Swansea Valley, Abergavenny that you can join up on for sure, so a mix of trail centre and natural stuff too

I've got a Conti Mountain King 2.4 on front and it's great.

Conti speed king I'm saving for the summer, not enough IMO for muddy conditions so running a Maxxis Medusa which is awesome but seems to be wearing fast.

On my other bike I have MAxxis highrollers front and back and like them too, but ridges on HR's seem to pick up the sides of rutts too readily IMO not a problem with Conti
