Thank you Tinners as the founder of Aberdare MTB I am very proud of what we volunteers have acheived of course there were professional trail building teams involved Sean and Rowan plus their employees but the sheer amount of hours put in by some members of our group is truly amazing.

Remember this is dream of 2 couples, Martin and Anna, Rowan and Liz without their ability to finance and attract grants and fund matching and ultimately corporate input this project would never have happened

I hope if you do come to Bike Park Wales please look out for the Aberdare MTB guys we are a really friendly bunch

    Thanks again Tinners :D

    +1 for bruneeps comment

use the fastpass system, send runners to the “most wanted” rides as soon as you get to the park.

Don’t underestimate the size of these parks they are massive, it takes ages to walk between stuff.

we’ve been 3 times in past 6 years and the wife runs the trip like clock work using the dibb and fast pass to great effect.

Harry Potter is a must it is awesome, butter beer is not my favourite drink at all 8O

in a word yes but you need to export the route to a GPS device such as a Garmin for example and set it as a route to follow.

my LBS is 8 miles away, the one in my hometown is poor, the good things are it has plenty of parking, great service, lots of spares, happy for a chat, asks what products I want to see in the shop, supports ours and other local cycling groups, supports everything from scooters through MTB/road to full custom build TT bikes. Offers a good range of bikes and can build some dream bikes too when asked.

also goes the extra mile when you want your bike fixed for the weekend, brill

I was walking up there last weekend and set off from Llanberis at 6.30am and it was like walking in Oxford St crazy busy, there were folk walking down who’d set off at 3am 8O

I would set off at first light say 5 – 5.30am top out at 8am back in Llanberis and more importantly Pete’s Eats for 8.30am :D

Then head to Coed Y Brenin for a lap or two, top day out

we had a group ride there the other week and was amazed how quiet it was on the Sunday we went, remember the weekend with the dry trails that was it, if we hadn’t been there I guess there would be less than 10 cars parked up

I sold mine and am going to build a 456 again, need a long travel HT where I live really and how I ride, thought a 100mm Swift would be OK but never felt confident on it so sold it before this years influx of 29ers hit the market.

Tempted to get a Cube 29er or similar circa £600 for bikepacking duties as it will do fine for the money
