    sex…sex…sex?…Sex.

Got something on your mind, Hora? The OP (or anyone else for that matter) hadn’t even mentioned the physical side of things? 😆

Might not be what you want to hear, but three and a bit years of this sort of thing (scapegoating, being made to feel like a third wheel, etc) destroyed our previously (we thought) good relationship. Whether it be her fault, your fault, or a combination of both, ignore it at your peril.

Traxxas have a really good rep for resilience, as has been mentioned above. It’s just a case of pick your preferred style and price point really, and you’re good. And go brushless if you can afford it, it’s a MASSIVE improvement over the old brushed systems, to the point where they are far superior to nitro cars.

This whole thread would be resolved by everyone posting IMHO at the end of their comment. When you’re discussing films and the like, it’s ALWAYS just opinion. Just sometimes lots of people’s opinions line up, as in Fury Road’s case. 97% on Rotten Tomatoes is fairly impressive. I’m sure there’s someone out there that love Coyote Ugly for example, but I’ve never met them…

No Tshirt here either, despite getting an email asking me what size and colour. It’s only been about a month though, so patience is a virtue, as is optimism. 8)

    Laptop through TV – how??

Maybe a big catapult, or some elaborate slingshot arrangement? Or just get REALLY cross with it. Although personally I recommend the window; more satisfying.

To clarify, Ambo tyres ARE M&S rated, but they are no substitute for snow socks when you get a white over at 3am. All our RRVs are 4×4, and they also need snow socks when it gets fluffy.

The Crown Prosecution Service says adults should be charged if they use fake social media IDs to harass others.
    BBC

I would imagine the relevant word in this sentence is not ‘fake’, it’s ‘harass’. Which is already illegal. So a bit non-newsy really.

    😀 that’s ACE!

Ambo service relies on a pair of snow socks per vehicle on all its vehicles in my area. They’re a really good solution to the very occasional snow we have in this country; pack down small, light, easy(ish) to fit and they WORK. Manky afterwards though.

Above is true; but the take home message is

ARB (anti-roll bar) is not classed as part of the suspension

It’s not required for the safe operation of the vehicle, it is a supplementary device to improve handling. If it’s bushes/mounts are worn it can clonk rattle and not do its job properly, but it shouldn’t be unsafe, per se.

Would it be a big mither to pop 12 months ticket on it? That THE best way to sell a £500-£1000 price bracket car. It’s the only thing that really matters, so long as it actually runs.

Is there a big oxygen scene at the mo, I’m a bit out of touch?

    I can’t speak for anyone else* but I personally have a 20% a day habit 😐

*actually, I’m fairly sure I can

Having been administering 100% oxygen to people since the nineties, and never seeing any of them demonstrating any symptoms of ‘highness’ as a result whatsoever, (which I cannot say the same about the effects of gas ‘n’ air) I’d say you are comparing apples and oranges.

    Oofing expensive but will last.

£575 is a lot of money to look like a grubby old man in a flasher mac; and what if the OP decides in a couple of years that he no longer wants to look like a grubby old man? Your economic argument of ‘it’ll last forever’ goes the way of expensive but goppng carpets then, doesn’t it? 😆

Genuinely suspect the genuineness of that pic, too. If I was a real ne’er do well (not some tit who wants to spread paranoia and have a pic go viral) I’d at least try to disguise the obvious, LIT UP, POS card reader with I don’t know, a plastic bag or something…

Mines stopped working after about 12 months anyway. Not very hard wearing cards. I shan’t be clamouring for a replacement of a device that saves me the effort of just five key presses.

In fairness to the OP, (and I completely get where you are coming from with the misogyny thing) ‘media whore’ is an expression I would use for both sexes equally. Whilst this example could be misgynistic, you’d have to look at the posters previous history of gender bias or sexis… Oh ain’t no one got time for that! Fetch me my pitchfork! Burn him!!!!

    When did they start charging?

Presumably, when they realised that they weren’t in the UK? (10 minute wait would also be a strong clue 😆 )

That’s got appropriate for A&E (preferably with an ENT dept next door) written all over it. Bummer that you have to pay.

I think they picked the worst aspects of the two vehicles it crossed.

Surely this is true of almost all soft roader/suv/Chelsea tractor type things? Ie; take fancy car, put it on stilts, (maybe) give it 4wd… Hey presto it now does NOTHING as well as its less compromised brethren. Still stupidly popular though for some reason. Weird.

I doubt very much that it’s fake. Those who think that it is should thank their lucky stars for the sheltered life that they lead. I’d very much like to not have to deal with people like this and far worse on an almost daily basis.

Signed in a heartbeat; not that it’ll make a shred a difference I don’t suppose. It’s now up to more than 234,000, and growing rapidly. Petition terms of reference not damning enough in my opinion.

It’s a little bit impressive; but it’s only an elaborate thermos really, isn’t it? That said, I bet it would be good at keeping my soup hot all day at work… Thermos; 12hr shift edition

Naan all the way. And as hot and greasy as possible please! Can’t have ‘healthy’ sneaking in through the back door! And whilst the fancy naans are attractive, I like than plain, to offset the delicious spicy flavour feast that the rest of the meal should be…

The minutia that me and Drac are discussing is that it used to be a cardiac arrest drug a long time ago (ie; unconscious patient, unable to communicate allergies, therefore relevant to carry something suggesting not to give it) but it isn’t any more. Lidocaine still in general use, but only in situations where the question “are you allergic to lidocaine?” Can be reliably answered, rendering having a tattoo of it on your forehead (or whatever ICE floats your boat) redundant.

Assumed it was still widely used as a local anesthetic? I have no specific knowledge either way TBH.

In reality, this is a topic that can run and run, because it’s not actually about the meaning of the word, it’s about the individuals perception of it. And that’s kind of, err, individual. So, you’re all right. And wrong.

    Drac; natch 😉

    v8ninety

To put your mind at rest; very few (if any?) paramedics in the UK carry or administer lidocaine, and the circumstances in which they would be giving you penicillin whilst you are unconscious are somewhat unlikely to coincide with your mountain biking trip.

What…. Paying out makes for more profit? I hope your not an accountant…

Absolutely. Higher payouts suit the insurance industry as a whole. Pay out more = charge higher premiums = greater profit on same margins.

Look, I heard it on Radio 4 so it must be true… 😉

Bobbies are quite keen to reopen roads in cases where there is minimal/no injury involved (inc whipcash, which gets recorded as minor injury only by our local boys in blue. However they will shut it all down to allow a proper investigation to take place if death, life threatening or life changing injuries have occurred. Which I think is kind of fair enough; regardless of how the incident is treated by the courts, I’m happy that police treat such incidents as seriously as they should.

Now I’m no genius here but aren’t the insurance companies betting on accidents NOT happening?

You’d think, wouldn’t you? But it’s all about he cashflow. The larger the cashflow, the greater the profit.

Dickyboy – completely agree, and kind of my point. Doesn’t help ambo types particularly, because we will defer IDing tasks to those with more time and resources. We don’t routinely do the NOK contacting either, unless it helps in the specific case. Wasn’t suggesting that it wouldn’t be potentially useful, just not particularly useful to ambos, contrary to popular assumption, in my personal experience. (Disclaimer – Obviously exceptions prove the rule etc)

To be fair; if the punter is in such a state as to not be able to tell me who he/she is; I’m not overly worried about finding out, there are more pressing matters at hand. Probably better asking the police or ED nurses amongst us what they do; it’s more their bag.

Perfectly happy to accept that it is physchological (obviously really); but it’s still soooo true. White interior, or yellow, and vertical, parallel sides, with minimum lippage. These things are important to my enjoyment of brewage.
