I couldn’t do it. Decluttering/sorting/shedding the tat is one thing, but I have too many interests and hobby type things to reduce my possessions so drastically. I like my stuff!

<puts hand up> ‘Sharp end’ of the NHS first hand experience here; 17 years of it. Can confirm that the above graph broadly correlates with my (and more importantly my patient’s) experience of increasing pressures due to a reduction in resources/ failure of resourcing keeping pace with increased demand. It’s more complex than just a lack of funding though; there’s some really big and difficult questions to address about how the general public value and utilise the NHS. It feels like we’ve gone from a general feeling of being privileged to have access to such an amazing health resource, free at point of care, to a sense of entitlement to it. There seems to be a general lack of understanding or interest in how much the health care people expect is costing the public. It feels unsustainable in its current format. Sadly.

Westwood t25-4wd (if less spendy than above solution; you should really suggest a budget, and whether new/second hand)

    it is actually their responsibility

I know!!! Try getting them to see that. I did, and I may now be black listed from their call centre 🙄

Kura in our household, our 6 year old has been in it since about 3, I think. Always been high setting, she’s a very capable climber and bounces well too.

12 cylinder Astra? Might have to look again at Vauxhall, they’ve snuck something interesting in their range at last…

That quiet stuff is only effective at reducing noise for speeds over 50mph generally. which rules out most non motorway roads

I bet it’s still quieter than the rough ass corrugated grit monstrosity of a resurface that they did outside my house last summer; went from a mildly potholed peaceful country road to a roaring rat run at a stroke. I swear the workmen were having bets on how could make the noisiest road surface 👿

the quicker we get flying cars the better.

Yep, because flying transport is reputed for its environmental credentials, silence and overall lack of nuisance to people. 😉

11.7 for both at the Oldbury Asda just off the M5 junction. Seems cheap.

I reccomend not taking out insurance, but putting the equivalent of petplans premium away into an isa or something. Over the course of the pets life, it’s most likely you’ll be quids in.

Fps is first person shooter right? Why o why is a mouse so much better for this genre? I just don’t get it (admittedly I’ve only ever been a casual gamer). RTS I completely understand, but there’s no damn cursor in an fps!

What type of controller do people use for these fast games on PC? Is mouse still king, (could never get on with that, too kinda floppy) or can you get console style controllers now?

Not proud of this one, but it came out of my mouth before I could stop it. Irritating lads at work was partnered up with a significantly younger, prettier and funnier lass, and lass A was complaining about it bitterly.
Lass A “Oh come on, next to ‘X’ I look old, fat and ugly”
Me “Oh come on <redacted>, you’re not old…”
Cue stifled guffaws from the other people present. I felt a bit bad. But she IS annoying…

Because you stopped it; it may just need a new turbo, rather than a new engine? In which case; STW has saved you dosh!

I’ve binned Facebook; my life is (mostly*) the richer for it.

Not for the reasons you outline, I did it because of my ‘procrastinationMAX’ tendencies were preventing me from getting stuff done when I had access to it. STW has filled this void, but slightly less completely.

I also don’t like the idea of being snooped, harvested, targeted, farmed or whatever. FB is getting quite sinister IMO.

I’ve got an eBay cheapy that I bought about 4 years ago; within a couple of months it had saved my no claims etc in an incident on a roundabout that it proved wasn’t my fault that would have been very difficult to prove otherwise, and would have gone ‘knock for knock’. Have not had cause to use it since, but wouldn’t be on the road without one on the basis of that experience.

MOT failure beyond economical repair, or loss of trust in reliability for a non easily fixable reason. That’s bangernonics! 8)

Gloss an entire wall? Seems odd. Better to weather seal the outside I reckon, and make sure the guttering is up to scratch too. Fix the problem, not the symptoms.

Can add to Jimbobo and Dracs endorsements; the diesel scout has been the most reliable RRV ever used in our Trust (much better than even Hondas!) they hardly ever break. I wouldn’t lose to much sleep over the 4×4 aspect of these cars, if our lead footed responder monkeys can’t break them, you will be very unlucky indeed too! Also agree on the nice place to be and drive comments, that is before they’ve done 100k or so hair raising miles…

Those advocating criminal damage, do you also smash the windscreens of cars that park badly?

RC Quadcopter flying types are to STW hardmen as road cyclists are to Jeremy Clarkson watching drivers. Simple.

(Not advocating antisocial drone use any more than I’m advocating deliberate running over of grannies by BMX riders)

Jeez. How complicated can people make lighting a fire? Just get it lit, chuck more burnable stuff on, the hotter the fire, the bigger the burnable thing can be. Don’t turn down any vents until the fire is set in properly., then close them all progressively until you are maintaining temp with just the airwash. Don’t over think it!

    (Edit; 13 sheets FTW)

Looks good fun, and quite beautiful. Teeny bit avatar feeling from that trailer, but I’ll see it, and I’ll enjoy it, no doubt. After all, I enjoyed Jupiter Ascending even though it was patently daft 😆

Old law was fine. Problem was ALWAYS that everyone’s knows they’ll <almost definitely> get away with it. 3 points and £100 would be a reasonable and proportionate punishment, if there was a reasonable chance of getting busted for it. See; effectiveness of average speed camera areas vs non speed camera controlled areas. Same punishment, different enforcement risk.

Kubota mower What do people think of this? It’s not got a collector (but hopefully could source one) and is slightly double my budget, but it strikes me as it would hold its value if looked after and running on red would work out as a significant saving over time, too.

Thoughts with those affected by today’s events, and hopefully indications that this could have been a LOT worse aren’t premature.

I can’t help but think (at risk of a toasty flaming), that notwithstanding the excellent work done behind the scenes by the security services in the UK, and also thank goodness for the UK stance on firearms, but thank <insert deity of choice> that UK terrorists seem mostly, well, a bit rubbish on the grand (and international) scale of things. Their attempts, whilst scary and potentially awful for the small number of people directly affected, do seem to be as amateurish as hell. Lets hope for everyone ‘a sakes that they never get their acts together. It’s like ‘Four Lions’ is a documentary rather than a satire… (no assumptions as to the motivations for today’s events are implied).

It’s so they can put your premium up for parking in an area frequented by thieves.

Pretty rubbish thieves, that don’t steal anything.

I wouldn’t be telling insurance companies ANYTHING that can’t be proven or bite me on the arse. This may be frowned upon by people who are fond of following rules, but I have been inconvenienced and ripped off unfairly by these rob dogs of dubious morality on one too many occasions. Plausible deniability it is.

What did you do with you 30yo old Westwood, Stoner? (I’m guessing that ‘Westfield’ was a typo due to Mountfield, rather than you mowing fields with a lightweight Lotus7esque sports car… 😉 )

Nice thing about buying is that you eventually stop having to pay for it.

You never stop paying for cars, if you want to actually use them as cars, they are quite literally a liability. Granted you pay less as they get older, but that’s a payoff for reduced trustworthiness, and to a point, showoffability. Leasing and ownership both have merits, depending on circumstances and needs.

I’d go to Oslo. I work two days, two nights, four off and I only have my lads on the four off plus holidays, which sounds like less than you’d be seeing your family, however I can honestly say that I spend more quality time with the boys than most of my conventional Mon-Fri peers. Those ‘work from home’ days could really work for you.
