tell me they were trans just like if someone knew they had hiv they should tell you before things were to get physical

Whoa right there. Did you really conflate a persons personal gender history with a serious communicable disease? WTactualF??? Do you think you’re going to catch gay or something?!? Jeez.

That you’re heterosexual?  Because nature or nurture I guarantee you the vast majority will feel this way making it a ‘normal’ reaction.

Normal reaction. Common reaction. Does this automatically mean correct reaction? ‘Heterosexual’ refers to a series of physical and behavioural cues that you are sexually attracted to. It has nothing directly to do with chromosomes, except that one set of chromosomes make it more likely for an individual to demonstrate those cues than the other. If you can accept that you ‘could’ fancy an attractive transgender female without knowing that she is transgender, to admit that you’d be horrified that she used to have male sex characteristics is just playground level prejudice (common or not) and you really should take a look at yourselves. Seriously. There’s all sorts of parallels with how people used to react to finding out someone was gay 20 years ago. That was a common reaction once, too.

with a male pretending to be a female.

Here in lies the crux of your issue, some may say prejudice. Someone who identifies as female, has completed gender reassignment and has obtained a gender reassignment certificate is female. Legally, if not genetically. If you don’t find them sexually attractive, that’s fair enough, but if you DID find them sexually attractive, until you find out about their chromosomes, then that’s NOT fair enough, and says something a little bit, err, enlightening about you.

It’s nothing to do with willies.

Sometimes it has quite a lot to do with dicks, though.

Why would the EU extend A50, it was set at 2 years for a reason.

EU have said it could be extended if requested.

May was a remainer wasn’t she? Is it feasible that this is all part of the grand plan to give the brexiteers enough rope, let them well and truly hang themselves, and then cheerily call the whole thing off? Or am I giving her too much credit by several orders of magnitude?

I strongly suspect the latter, unfortunately.

Labour are on a sticky wicket. Conventional thinking suggests that a large percentage of their traditional base support are still very pro leave. Sometimes the clever thing to do is say nothing, and allow the opponent to destroy themselves. I hope.

Just to add; doesn’t matter how good the IT gets, we’ll still ask you if you have any allergies. Along with a whole host of other questions you’ve been asked ten times before. Even if we have no intention of giving you any drugs. They are fairly important questions, and a hard habit to break…

May as well just get used to it.

Don’t get too excited. Resigning from an imploding government is a move that will probably mean we’ll be seeing more of the odious twunt, not less.

Also, haven’t we got a dedicated thread relating to brexit related bobbins? 😉

but surely they should start off with my medical records instead of asking me.

But but but… Haven’t you just highlighted how untrustworthy and potentially incorrect the notes could be? And you’re then suggesting that a clinician uses the notes rather than just asking you?!? Can you see why his might happen? If you’ve noticed how unreliable medical notes are, do you really think clinicians have not noticed? Best practice is to take your own history. It’s a simple primary vs secondary source thing, really.

but not sure why anyone would pay those sorts of sums on something <you don’t need, but irrationally want>  just because you can.

doesnt this pretty much sum up almost all human spending habits over and above essentials for life though?

Still live axle front and rear?

edit; just watched video; yes! Last of the proper off roaders? Except maybe for the Wrangler I suppose. Sad that there’s not a single live axled Land Rover anymore 😕

Plus, admitting fault constantly isn’t really going to convince someone you should be let off.

See, in my mind, admitting technical fault whilst pointing out that the spirit of the rules has been complied with, with a bit of humanity seems the best way to appeal to someone’s better nature.

after all, I should have got a ticket. 😏

Appeal submitted, shortened a bit and with supportive evidence attached. Fingers crossed! Will report back.

Ouch. First thing I’d do is send a cheque for the initial penalty amount, crossed with ‘full and final settlement’ with a letter stating that this was the offer. You never know, it may be cashed and that would put you in a strong position if it subsequently goes to court. If they don’t bite, then you’ll need to negotiate. I hate this kind of thing. It’s literally extracting money for nothing or virtually nothing, at least.

I suspect that if you are uninsured, the insurance company would be unlikely to pursue you for anything particularly high (e.g. weeks of hire car costs) as you’d simply be unable to pay them, or for that matter any legal costs they may incur trying to get you to pay them, and they’d lose out in the long run.

I reckon it’s more likely to be the other way round; circa £1000 or less it’s probably not worth their costs to pursue, whereas multiple thousands would make good business sense to pursue.

    Auntie’s gone a bit pro-brexit,

Really? I don’t sense that. If anything, they are having to be careful not to lay it on too thick because there’s just so much ‘anti brexit’ material at the moment it’s just daft.

Instantaneous readout on my last car pretty much single handedly retrained my driving habits for the better. I reckon it saved me hundreds of quid over the course of 4 years; it’s one thing knowing that certain habits are more efficient, it’s quite another having them writ plain in front of your eyes.

If it’s steel, it’s repairable. Might not be pretty, might not be as light afterwards, but could definitely be as strong again. Got any mates who can weld?

I would keep away from a navara they seem to have an issue with the chassis on the older models. I have seen pictures of a friends Navara chassis cracked into 2 parts.

Sorted by Nissan on anything newer than about 2008, I think.

That could be a DIY job. But that’s a BIG weld from box to plate, you’d need a walloping welder to do that, and it looks strong as ****. Not so impressed with the welds to the spacer plates, but actually they don’t need to be strong as the bolts are doing the work. I reckon it’ll be reet; I’d tow with it, if my real life assessment concurred with my 10 second on the internet assessment…

Both my boys loved their Frogs. Don’t be led to believe that they are significantly inferior to islabikes. I think they are slightly heavier but are also sturdier; this was a definite plus point with my youngest, who isn’t kind to mechanical things… Resale value however may make the islabike a more sensible financial decision, providing you can maintain the bike in saleable condition; chips, scrapes etc to a minimum.

My folks old (I mean OLD) Picasso just keeps going. Has had the odd small, fixable issue, and it’s had both sills plated now (which is about the only ‘easy’ welding to do on a modern motor) but the egg shaped jalopy refuses to die.

I suppose Badger is a Lurcher, with emphasis on the  Collie bit. He’s 50% collie, 50% lurcher, and the lurcher looks to me to have been bull terrier with something long legged and short haired. Either way, Badger is the most epic pup I’ve even owned. Smart but not needy, confident but not aggressive, biddable but still characterful. A very happy chap that has brought a whole new dimension of fun to our household ☺️☺️☺️ Six months old now, and maybe mostly finished growing? We’ll see.

I don’t see why you’re getting so defensive. I’ve had this before you just prove you are not the guilty party and that they no longer live here when they turn up. It is a pain yes but if you’re not guilty you have nothing to worry about.

With the greatest respect, the OP has explained that in the situation he’s describing, this simply isn’t working, and it’s understandably having a significant negative impact on his quality of life.

OP, fire off some ‘cease and desist’ letters. Templates are available on the web.

sBob is technically correct in what he asserts; in that insurance companies ‘require’ us to agree to these conditions in order to remain insured. This fact does not take away the ridiculousness of the requirement to declare all damage; as demonstrated by the stone chip logical argument. If none of us would declare stone chip repair, then we are all made ‘dishonest’ by the insurance company’s terms, and it becomes a personal morality decision about where we would draw the line.

Insurance companies realised a few years ago that it’s all about the cash flow. A small percentage of a big number is far preferable to a bigger percentage of a small number. It’s why they don’t clamp down on large payouts, because it just ups the figures and they make more the next year. Thousands of pounds for a scuffed bumper? Suits you sir. It’s the very example of how pure capitalism gets it so wrong.
