Rest arrives on Friday so will report back after the weekend!

Not sure where the £1200 price is coming from. UK RRP (GXP Cranks) is £1010 with trigger, £1000 with gripshift. That doesn’t include a BB though. BB30 chainset option is £40 more.

TINAS the new 2013 solo air forks need a complete air spring assembly to change travel not just the plastic spacer.

Its unlikely as the kits haven’t arrived with SRAM Tech in the UK yet. Its just refitting the solo air spring so will be pretty simple.

Lowers removal, top cap removal (24mm socket), spring assy removal (you will need some decent circlip pliers for this) and then it will all go back together the way it came apart. Will need a few ml of 15wt fork oil to relube the lowers too.

Only two off the peg 120 29er forks for 2013 are as follows:

RS8238004 SID RCT3 – Solo Air 29″ MaxleLite15 Black Motion Control DNA 3-Position Alum Str TAPER (120mm max travel )

RS8239006 SID XX – Solo Air 29″ MaxleLite15 White Motion Control DNA XLoc Remote Right Alum Str TAPER (120mm max travel )

The new internals that you would need to change travel on 2013 revs retail at 74.99 and would be either of these (its just a top cap colour choice).

RockShox Spring Internals Left SoloAir Revelation 26/29″/650B Black 120mm (w/Top Cap & Knob) (Not Compatible w/DualAir CSU)
    R8010074

RockShox Spring Internals Left SoloAir Revelation 26/29″/650B Silver 120mm (w/Top Cap & Knob) (Not Compatible w/DualAir CSU)
    R8010075

Bit of a PITA with the new system – the old spacers were great!

My my crikey aren’t we a condescending chap.

If you would care to notice that i said ‘directly’ work on them; So yes, you probably wont go out and do all of your Christmas shopping at John Lewis tomorrow (and neither will I).

I just find it ironic that because of this advert which many are saying doesn’t work, John Lewis is being discussed at length (and Debenhams/Selfridges etc aren’t) so its very easy to argue that its a successful piece of Marketing – therefore a successful advert whether you like it or not.

    I think its great.

Anyone saying that its a bad advert or advertising doesn’t directly work on them, there is a thread on here with John Lewis in the name and your reading and discussing it…

Had a couple of TCR Advanced SL’s both were fantastic bikes. Certainly the best offering ive tried from any of the mainstreamers and very underrated.

Currently running a 695SR which is loooovely 🙂

I had considered 303s but they’re silly money… And I wouldn’t really want to use something that deep every weekend round the Pennines!

I have 303 FC’s that i use weekly in the peaks. Appreciate its counter-intuitive but they are more stable in the wind than my Ksyrium SLs (on the same bike) which i use when its crappy.

Sorry MY is Model Year. Not quite sure about the CRC thing can see them on the site so understand your curiosity. They must have either got the year wrong and/or its some hybrid fork from an OE as DPC was never available on 2011 forks.

2011 Tech Manual Below – No DPC.

2011 Sektor’s were never available with Dual Position Coil. Yours will be a MY2012 fork and so will take the part mentioned above.

There is a 140mm and a 150mm version make sure you get the right one for your fork.

    Thats not quite correct:

The removable knuckle has nothing to do with the shifter its only used when a MMX compatible Avid brake isnt used in conjunction with remote.

The shifter mounts onto a small extension plate that comes with the MMX remote.

If your running this style of X9 Shifter then it will mount directly onto the remote using one of the two threaded holes that the original clamp attaches too:

If your running this style then you cant and you can mount the shifter as per normal alongside the reverb remote.

This image should clear everything up.

You use the little knuckle if your not using an MMX avid brake (it effectively replaces the darker grey brake section of the clamp).

The shifter extension can also be removed if your X9 shifter isnt compatible, it simply unscrews from a removable back plate insider the reverb remote.

Also worth noting that if you do run the remote upside down on the opposite side you will not be able to direct mount the shifter to it (but you could still direct mount an MMX Avid brake).

Left or Right Kit will work on any sided remote no problem at all.

The only part thats different is the actual button that you press. The button isnt actually symmetrical and so the left/right are ever so slightly different.

You can still flip 180 so that the extension is towards your hand.

Its 195mm on a 125mm travel version. Buy a 100mm one and you will be fine.

Keeping it well greased and not swinging on the end of it like a monkey when your putting a wheel in generally stops any issues.

Road Rash was a big one for me too, can still remember the cheat codes for 2 to get the ‘wild thing’… many hours spent running back to that thing!

FFVII is still my favourite game ever and will be buying the remake as and when but running it a close second is probably Shining Force 2

Its the spacer to use in the MMX clamp for the reverb remote when your NOT using a MMX compatible avid brake.

    As seen fitted here:

There is one in Sterling Silver in the window of Congleton Cycle Centre, was it that one? Its a lot brighter than the older chrome grey and does look polished in the right light!

The freehub body is no wider than a current one. Most peoples current hub shells/wheels will be compatible when/if the wheel/hub manufacturers machine some freehubs.

Some pure rubbish spoken on here…

Current Sid/Reba have identical lowers and csu – therefore a similarly specced Sid/Reba (tapered/bolt through option) will have identical stiffness.

Sid upgrades – 1 piece aluminium air top cap / drilled bushings / butted aluminium air shaft – all of which offer weight savings over the reba.

Sids also tend to be fitted with the better quality MoCo DNA Dampers over the standard MoCo in most Rebas which gives better damping quality (and a tiny weight saving).

It actually depends on the post position as to how sensitive it is. If the post is fully compressed then it probably wont move at all (unless your bike is very heavy!). If your post is only compressed an inch or so a small bit of pressure on the underside of the saddle will be enough for it to move up. Chances are you’ve only moved your bike with the saddle with it fully (or near fully) compressed or at full extension in which case you wont have noticed it.

Just sent you an email regarding an Ultimate.

I ran a pair on my Addict last winter and they were pretty good, ability to switch between narrow and wide stance is pretty neat. Wide gives great mud clearance and narrow gives more power (and is better on the back for not bashing yourself when mounting/dismounting). Never felt i was wanting for power, especially with the narrow stance on the rear.

Would happily run again but new frame has disc mounts…
