Has it gone all the way through?  Image doesn’t look too bad.  Certainly repairable and given its a black frame no need for crazy colour matching the repair.

I have the newest model Octavia.  It won’t get my large SC 5010 stood up in it.  The issue isn’t the boot floor but the distance from the folded seats to the roof.  Just not quite enough.

Used the plastic slider (with measurements) to fix the position along with the plastics trim that is supplied (this needs to be cut).  This will hold the feet in place.  If they get knocked then the slider will move but its easy to set back to the correct place.

Bought shimano outer and maguire inner both workshop reels via Amazon.com.  Must have been 100 inners and 50m of outer.  Super cheap.

Some VWs need a couple of leads form the harness swapped with one another.  Constant and switched live.

I have the element bolt. It’s a great little unit.  Happily takes a battering from the weather and mud.  I run a K edge stem cap that allows the bolt to be ran with a short stem.

Used Hope Bulbs, Pro 2, Pro 2 Evos and most recently Pro 4s.

I have just moved to i9 torch.  Very nice, pick up is way better and spare parts are easy to get hold of from JRA in York.

I was up there on Saturday. Spotted a beast marker on the post at the bottom of Root 66 at the Odd Sox Turn.  So looks like Root 66 could be in or the route hit the fire track that runs at the bottom of Root 66 and Odd Sox is out.

Mate had a non quattro version.  He had been in BMWs for years but fancied a change and went for the A6 avant.  Great for bikes. Lovely looking car. Had something like 18 visits to the dealer for warranty issues in two years.  It started around a couple weeks after delivery. I can’t remember them all:

Various door rattles – wrong clips used in manufacture.

Various dash rattles – dash removed and refitted a couple of times.

Warnings lights on/off depending on terrain driven on.

    Electronic Handbrake failure

Passenger window opened automatically when car locked depending on outside temperature changes.

    Drive shaft failure.

Front headlight failure.  Self levelling paddle moving spontaneously up an down.

The last spell saw it in the garage for 4 weeks plus with Audi and an independent trying to find the source of the problem of the moment.

Thankfully it was a company car through a lease.  The lease company took it back. He’s going back to BMW.

Had my first go on a turbo and on Zwift today. It’s quite impressive and appeals to the former gamer in me.  Just used the iphone today but will get the laptop setup for next time.  I still need to dial the turbo/tyre in a little as I had some slippage up the set of escalators on the London loop. I can certainly feel it in my legs.

Cougar, you are correct. Not Gun but Thunder and with Terrorvision. I had forgotten they were on the bill.

Seen them half a dozen times+. The first time being at Don Valley stadium in 93 ish with Gun, Ugly Kid Joe and Thunder in support. Then in Newcastle every tour since. The Darkness supported them on one tour before they made it big. A great show.

Hysteria is the album for me followed by Pyromania and Slang. The song Hysteria being my favourite song of all time.

Apart from the initial stages of picking up a left hand drive auto from the hire place I found the driving pretty good. Roads outside of the cities very quiet. we did manage to miss a rock slide on the Jasper road and did get “stuck” behind quite a few RVs but the scenery is just mind blowing. The scale is really hard to appreciate. We drove 3000 miles and must of that was done in under two weeks.

Probably the best bit for me was camping at Jasper and the wildlife. A number of trails were closed due to angry bear encounters. The Mrs loved our final day as there was a massive parade in Victoria, the museum was pretty good, I liked the MEC and we went on a rib to a large pod of killer whales. It rounded it off nicely. We could have easily have stayed longer.

We spent just under three weeks in BC a few years back. Started with a couple of days in Vancouver, Grenville Market, the park, local beer in Gas Town, MEC. Hired a car and headed to Whistler, Jasper (camped), Lake Louise, Banff (camped), Kamloops/Sun Peaks resort and then over to Vancouver island for a week for more driving and whale watching. Did a few hours riding at Sun Peaks.

I have been running one for 1.5 years. Super smooth and reliable. When it gets a little slow simply regrease it. Around two months ago I carried out a full service. Changed the mark 1 nut for the mark 2 version with better sealing although not really needed as super clean inside. I would high recommend the post and the Wolf Tooth lever.

Had a 2007 VRS hatchback and loved it. The car I have kept the longest. Now on a brand new VRS estate DSG. Superb. Coming from a high spec BMW 320d Touring and the VRS is way better to drive and also much bigger. Swallows gear without issue.

DSG is pretty good it’s my first auto so don’t really have a fixed point of reference but as yet I have not missed having a manual. I’m just 3k miles in and the car is saying its getting 45 mpg at the minute.

The Briskoda forum is the place for all Skoda knowledge well worth signing up.

I’m local rider, riding out of Reeth every week. Currently running Continental Barons 2.4 front and back. I run 30/32 PSI in the back and around 28 PSI up front both tubeless. Mate runs high rollers.

Never swap tyres out for differing conditions.

Neither of us have had issues.

My little girl required a stoma less than a week after being born. Stayed in place for around 8 weeks only and then went back to have the process reversed. Overall around 5cm of “pipe” had been removed. She was discharged from LGI two days or so after the reversal. Just has a scar across her tummy. Everything works as it should. No issues to date. She turned 4 last week.

Use both reg-123 for Urls and Webfusion for a couple of sites (same company in essence) – http://www.unsponsored.co.uk. Not the cheapest but pretty stable and support when needed is good.
