I have been running mine like this

I swapped the buttons over, so I press the upper button to make it easier and the lower button to make it harder.

For the last couple of years.

Definitely the more intuitive way around. It’s a quick change via the app.

I’ve went from a Phenom to a Power on my bikes. I run a 155. The shorter nose on the power works better for me. Not tried the Power Arc.

Really happy with mine. I have the GTX and non GTX versions. GTX ones worn with trousers. No issue staying dry.

Local rider to Reeth and my mate who I ride with has just built a Sherpa. Quite happy on the terrain.

Sherpa with 120mm revs, hunt carbon wheels and Maxxis WT 2.5 tyres.

Get some nice and wide tyres and it will be just fine.

The footpath runs on top of an old road/track. All good to ride. Can hold a bit of water along its length.

They’ll be around for a while. Restrictions on which schools and colleges can run them have been lifted. BTEC and other vocational qualifications at Level 3 are under review and by all accounts unlikely to continue.

The timeline over the next few years has a number of new T level subjects coming into play. The offer is nice and broad.

From the specs I have read they look good. The 45 day work placement (can be once per week or in blocks) will be the most difficult part for schools and colleges to organise.

Tour o Borders is a good shout. Was there yesterday taking photos. Wall of Talla is the hard bit but only short. Great lead in and decent though.

Mine have arrived. I ordered the same size as my normal Trailcross after talking to a rep at Ard Rock.

They size up just the same.

I’ve put some details and side by side shots on my site –

The way the weather is shaping up they’ll be tested this weekend.

I was up on Stage 1 on Friday and 2 on the Saturday and Sunday. Stage 2 was much tougher than previous years. If you managed to get down before the rain hit on Saturday you were lucky.

I’ve put a few images up in a post in my blog.

Stage 1 on the top of Fremington Edge

End of Stage 2 on day 2

I haven’t tried the new VE paddles. However I know that Stu had been working hard with Palm to ensure the transition of both the company and production quality of the paddles with the Palm team remained high.

I have had an early set of cranked VE’s, a set of splits and the new creek blade prior to production being paused. Quality, feel and performance always top notch. As a right handed person who paddles left handed been able to get a set of custom blades made up to spec quickly was also a bonus.

Crank paddles might help as could a set of straight shafted paddles with blades at a different degree of feather.

As has been send most croaked paddles have a carbon shaft but there are a few aluminium ones out there. But they are not really any cheaper.

For all things kayak based checkout my site. This link goes to the paddle archive with paddle news and reviews.

Went with M&S for the house exc bikes and went with LAKA for the bikes. LAKA has a different underwriting framework where the community take care of it. So far I’ve paid in less than the max monthly payment. Can cancel at any point.

If any one is interested in a code drop me a line. Gives you and I some money off month 1.

They did a stealth version of the Fatbar a while back with zero gold parts just black decals on the carbon bar. There may be some old stock kicking around.

I had a Nissan Navara for three years or so. Had the cab put on the back.

It was great for big journeys, carrying stuff, biking but eventually became a pain for day to day use. Car parks, parking etc.

I went back to a hatchback and then onto an estate. Much better overall.

The school will probably be running Office 365 or Google Suite as their online offer with Teams or Google Classroom. Both come with online versions of “word”, “excel” and “PPT”

Spyderco UK Penknife (UKPK). Created specifically as the name would suggest as a UK legal carry.

Byrd (same company as Spyderco) do a cheaper version as well.

Took me about 6 weeks after busting a couple of ribs. Being jumped on by an enthusiastic 4 year old a few days after the crash was more painful than the crash.

Looking at whether or not it is a good scheme and how easy it is to claim if required as that’s the big test with insurance.

Yes I have one. Moved from a V3 that is up for sale. Built last week with 150mm forks up front.

I have had V2, V3 and V4 5010s none have been XC bikes. They are all a do it all trail bike.

I think I’ll have a go at making one of these for mine. I have some material that should be spot on. I don’t have an evoc bag but I do have an Alpine Threadworks one – http://www.alpinethreadworks.com/products/cox-fanny.html

Just as a heads up, we were up here visiting family. The petrol station at Sheil Bridge was shut with no plans to open any time soon. The next two at Inverinate and Kyle were both shut on Sundays. We were travelling on a Sunday and managed on vapours to get to the 24hr Coop Petrol station at Broadford. We weren’t going to Skye but need to do the detour to get fuel.

I went for the Yakima High Road. Clamps the front wheel, not fiddly like the Thule one. Got the Yakima as my mate has a couple and has been using them for a year+.

    Will go on any rack.

    New shoes are bigger.

I now have the trail cross mid pro and LT. Both much longer than the Sam Hills Impacts I had. I have gone down 1/2 a size.

    For those interested

    I’m 6ft 2 and am on a medium with a 100mm stem. I wouldn’t have any standover clearance if I was on a large.

The medium was recommended by Canyon by both the sizing tool and online UK help.

Late 80s for the aquabat. They made a stripped out version and a slightly whitewater version with additional buoyancy and better footrests. Used one in the pool and on a river. The volume is quite low which was fun but not great for beginners on moving water.

The cockpit although keyhole shape is very small. Not that easy to get in or out of in a hurry compared to newer boats.

For all things kayaking check out my site – http://www.unsponsored.co.uk

I’ve been paddling over 35 years now and the site has been around over 20.

Also paddled spuds and owned a Gattino and Gambler. 6ft 2 and no issues getting in the spud even with trainers on.
