A couple of years ago I got permission from the wife to cancel Xmas. We didn’t do presents, told each set of in-laws we were going to the others, had a Chinese takeaway and watched die hard then gremlins. Best Xmas day ever.

Having said that they’re not evil people or anything, just very very stupid. And with a couple of years to go before graduation they’ve already ruled themselves out of a lot of graduate jobs. I used to get the train through, then get off and ride along the canal from either Falkirk or linlithgow, plus the occasional road ride all the way along the a89.

It’s getting so I don’t recognise my sport/hobby any more. I just long for the days when we all rode bikes… most of us had one bike… it was variously great, OK or a bit shit because it got used for everything. Regardless of the bike’s dodgy or otherwise provenance, I wouldn’t trust this seller to tie his own shoelaces, much less properly maintain an expensive mountain bike.
