And I’ve been mocked by mates before for turning down a side road when I think someone’s been behind me a long time… granted we were just coming back from sainsburys but still

But great the police are actually watching out for these tactics, heard of it happening at Llandegla years ago. Also at the camp site at Betws-y-coed used to get people driving in, doing a lap and then leaving. woke up next morning and someone’s bike gone from the roof.

    No, is it chuf.

A1 is a lot of single carriage way, some dual, but only double lane. It is an option, but through some Google maps on it. Personally from where you are, I’d M1 it and take my chances.

EDIT Actually it might be that far up now. I take that back. north of newcastle it isn’t and going to Edinburgh its a ball ache (irrelevent for you) . But Still takes you quite far east and back again though…

I was expecting maybe little footnotes along the bottom where he cited references as well.

Even though I knew he was an internet loon, I was still thinking, well what study did you find that in…

For the small linkage triangles a bearing press of the type you can get from Superstar will do you. For the main pivot you odds on will need a vice. I did. On recomendation from my LBS I just cracked the old bearings off (wear eye protection). They prob won’t move otherwise.

That leaves the 2 in the linkage arm.

For those you need chuffing miracle…

It just says moulded on the website I read, I don’t know what I mean by that either…

on the rim tape – Ahhh, I see that makes sense.

    Thanking you sir.

Stans vs Joes vs other brands any recomendations/ones to avoid?

    unklehomered

Right, I’m moving towards having a bit of this as well. My questions

Is the difference between the different stans kits just the width of the molded rim? and what’s the spoke tape for? Just incase you don’t already have any, or does it serve a special purpose?

    Thanks

Building a meta AM as we speak.

As has been said above, there was a speight of issues 08/09, it was a manufacturing thing, but they all came very close together. But with the internet people like bringing it up still.

Commencal address the issue for ’10 and its been fine since.

New metas are made in a different factory and because of the above commencal made a lot of the stress testing they put the new designs through. New Am/SX out now for 10 months or so I think, no yet heard of a single issue via COC. The AM frame is very well made, chunky, and bearings all seem accessible etc. I’m really looking forward to getting it ridden.

    Coverts also lovely bikes.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my mum 6 weeks ago, not much advice to offer than don’t rush stuff, and take some time to replace the memories of her ill, with those of her being her normal self.

I often see my Mum in the Kitchen doorway with a look on her face asking if I’m going to clean up the mess when I’m finished. I often didn’t

It was cancer for us, but still very quick, 5 weeks. I recognise what you say about the wishing her life away as well, helplessness doesn’t begin to cover it. But I do beleive it was better than long lingering suffering. My mum was the busy bussling type who wasn’t made for lying in bed not in control of her life. didn’t stop me wrapping myself knots over it though.

Its a shit time. I found getting out on a hill on my own on the bike a welcome chance just to let it all out for 5 minutes.

The motorist pays in total £48 billion a year in taxes, i think that more than covers the £9 billion spent on road building,

Which motorist? Who ever it is, A thanks, B, you got screwed.

Fact-1, It costs me an arm & leg to put my car and motorbikes on the road,

That must make riding the motorbikes quite difficult, especially if they were both from the same side…

Go back far enough in tradition the Engagement ring should cost one month’s salary. Net or Gross tradition does not specify.

If the time ever comes for me it will be “Would you like to get married, or would you prefer we had food and heating this month?” :D

If you drove to PB odds on you went past Stainburn (where I build), its on the big hill just after you cross a bridge over the top of the reservoir, before you drive past the Sun Inn. (assuming you went that way and not through Otley).

Yeah, I have a single 36t ring on my HT, Boy do i feel it if I’ve not been out for a while!

Now then. I used to be out round that neck of the woods, Much goodness to be had in the meanwood valley trail, and some good bridleway out frm Eccup res to Kirby overblow.

Stainburn isn’t far from you either, if you fancy a guided ride of the natural stuff in Norwood (or “over’t’road”) a mate and I were planing something up there next week, and of course there’s trail building first sunday of every month.

I’m based in Pateley Bridge in Nidderdale (45 minutes away from you), but my regular riding buddy is about to depart to Sheffield, so i’d be up for mid week rides around west yorkshire/Dales. Be good to getting out with someone who might challenge my fitness a bit too.

Far added fun, and to further alarm the HSE, do this first!

take your accumulator, don’t attach it to anything. Put some whiskey in the bottom, just a little little bit. Accumulate! Release! breath in the vapourised whisky (something nice and peaty works well).

#got this off James may so it must be OK#

Now start mucking with tyres and 150psi! ;)

Right I have to go now, there’s a guy over there says he needs some scissors ASAP, what do you think – run over with them, or throw them ?
