Got a big flat head in, but when turned it just tore the topcap like plasticine. worrying bit was how far gone it was before it snapped. I’ve been riding Stainburn on that…
They’re old cranks from 2007, top cap is 10mm, the with an 8mm underneath. Its the top cap that’s effed.
Must remember to buy some nice SLXs when I’m next well off. Sick of GXP stuff.
@coatesy, yeah top caps are reverse threaded.
Can you get such a thing as a reverse threaded Stud extractor, i.e. – normal threaded.
