There’s a digital… err thing on the BBC.

Lost half an hour to it this morning, beyond horrifying, some of the stuff the government, NCB did afterwards is just staggering.

    this.

for anybody who wants to argue, I’ll still make the case that the current system is far more fair and progressive than the one in place in 2010

This. I’d swap my 2000 SL agreement for the current one if I had the choice.

No Labour aren’t extremists, but they are in shambolic disarray, at odds with their own membership and incapable of presenting anything coherent to the nation.

Not forgotten, but not getting the coverage they once did. I’m encouraged by this, they did go all out, but it suggests that when people have the party platform presented to them it does strike a chord and have some appeal.

Sad that being a united, coherent party with a solid message makes for lousy ‘news’.

I had a low speed (walking pace) parking bump 2 years ago. Reversed into the car behind while parallel parking. No damage to mine. no damage to hers.

In the end my insurance company paid out 8k for whiplash. All said and done its cheaper in the short term for them to support insurance fraud than fight the individual cases.

For you the fact that she never contacted her insurance company won’t help.

But my first step would be to ask for a detailed break down and sight of the invoice for the repair to her car. If there isn’t anything then whiplash will be harder to make. The one I knocked claimed new bumper, bonnet, front wings…

    [Intensive] Grouse moor management

It isn’t the grouse as such, but the draining of the peat for increase the number of grouse that can be supported. There could be a balance. Don’t know if the sums would or could work, but a for the nice but dim idiots that flood nidderdale this time of year in their range rovers (and can’t hit a thing – with their guns, they do OK in the Range Rovers) it probably wouldn’t make any difference.

    Ignoring the argument.

I have Kodi on a raspberry Pi2 velcrod to the back of the TV, can be controlled via a the TV remote, and is pretty awesome/capable.

I have a Roku stick also, which I actually use more (netflix) but for reasons I haven’t fathomed it is terrible at streaming from local source though. Together they cover my needs.

I was out that way last night and pulled over to watch a wonderful raptor I struggled to identify, not a kite but similar in size.

Buzzards are making a bit of a comeback but the hunting species are really suffering.

Agree we need a strict presumed liability. It is the only way, everything else has failed.

I’ve had to slam all on a couple of times when people have made the clean sweep on joining the motorway across all three lanes in one move.

I find you can often tell they’re going to do it, their driver-langauge (body language for cars) gives it a way as they come in on the slip road, like they’re itching for the off.

    “I-wanna-do-somehting-stupid-I-wanna-do-somehting-stupid-I-wanna-do-somehting-stupid–Oh-I’m-gonna-do-it-Ooooooh-any-second-now-here-I-Go!-SURPRISE-MOTHER-******s!”

So the inside lane is the one on the outside of the road as a whole and vice versa.

    Got it.

Don’t understand it, but do got it.

The left of the vehicle is always referred to as the nearside, right of vehicle as offside.

This is probably just because I’m on the spectrum but again, that’s the opposite of my instinctive interpretation. I think of near side as being, near… well Me. as the driver.

Driver side, passenger side are my preferred terms.

Hmmm… hard to know the scenario you’re in. Heavy traffic that i scrawling along, as it passes a city or just a section of DC that has got to capacity and so has braking waves moving back through the traffic?

I do go the right hand lane (politely) on the A1 through Newcastle/gateshead in heavy traffic for the primary reason that I know I’m on the A1 for the whole thing, not leaving, lots of other people are needing to change lanes and we’re only doing 40 so it seems sensible to stay out of their way. I’m happy to keep up with those ahead of me.

Just read the OP again, do you mean outside as is in left hand lane? which I think of as the outside, but I’m often wrong about these. I find near side a confusing term. Near to what?

Also you can get an overlay in chrome which shows how people move about your site, very useful when making/trialing changes.

OOOOOh, nice. I’m after a nice small knife for a bout in the garden.

On the site there are a few things I went to click but they we’re linked. e.g. the Knives, Customisable & Leather bits at the bottom. They should link through to relevant pages. Also your website homepage title is home, ideally the browser tab should come up with the company name, which I too have now forgotten.

As for the other SEO stuff, read it all, if it seems like a logical thing that makes sense or will make your site better for visitors, do it. SEO gets a bad wrap because of the various people selling snake oil, its not a voodoo art but more a form of best practice to make sure your website is as effective as possible.

I would look to add more text to the home page, and other pages but only if you can write more about the products in a natural way.

Might also (for unknowing folk like me) be worth saying what knife might be best for what (if its not in the name).

On another note my BiL runs a game/fishing/countryware shop, are you interested in supplying commercially?

Thta’s exactly the route you’d draw if you wanted to keep it all as far from the UK as possible!

That’s an interesting point, given not only brexit but the TfL debacle.

Now… if she was on a road bike, on a transition, then yes I would, but the road bike would be the factor, and I would would do my very best to stay with them, while looking relaxed, and trying not to be sick.

If I’m on the 29er I often annoy roadies by sitting on their wheel, especially if they don’t say hello as they pass.

Nope, Was out ridden off road by a lady on the CX the other week. IMO if you try and avoid the inevitable like that you’re not making your self look awesome, just making yourself look like someone who places too much value on looking awesome.

My own pet hate is going more or less the same speed as someone, I’d much rather there was a clear speed difference which ever way round it is.

I’m not often overtaken, which I find odd as I’m not that fit But thinking about it I rarely see other riders out my way. Generally who ever it is fair enough. I’ll not bust myself trying to keep up as I could have 10 miles to ride before I get home.

Well I got my Cornerstone starterpack yesterday. Moving from Mach3 & bulldog scrub and gel. Which I’ve been ok with but I have been getting some skin problems, enough to make me try something else.

The scrub is very abrasive and quite sandy, which I like but there’s lasting effect from it, and the gel is very smooth and cool (no sting which I do get a little of from BD).

Razor is quite odd on first use, it has a large head area but is very comfortable to use, but the head size will take some getting used to for upper lip.

    results are notably better.

Yeah did make me wonder re previous comments on the event. I was already feeling a little uncomfortable re CTE implications…

I think this course is more vertical than horizontal. There’s much less of the nerve wracking ridge type stuff. More straight down. But as above maybe it’s safer for the riders.
