Strip and grease smoothed mine out noticeably. They were bone dry new and quite notchy.

Mine creaked like a mofo, despite regreasing the headset and every other interface. Assumed it was poor head tube tolerances.

What shifters have you found best for little hands? I’m looking at getting #2 a 24″ bike and those I’ve seen come with either gripshifts, triggers and thumbshifters. Not sure which is best

Saint triggers – longer levers require less force. Have Saint + SLX rear mech on a 20″ and our 6yo daughter has no problems clicking up and down the cassette.

Praxas works perfectly, not a single creak and never had to touch it.

Quite like my hi-mod Synapse disc. It manages to be both stiffer than my previous TCR, and more comfortable/smooth than my ti Lynskey. The TCR was jarringly harsh, and the Lynskey felt like it had to be wound up to go anywhere. It’s obviously never going to be a crit racer, but for its intended purpose, it fits the bill for me. Mine has 28mm Pro Ones on Enve’s, so that doesn’t hurt either! I test rode a Roubaix, and that thing was dull and lifeless in comparison.

I had 3 lots of $800 fraudulently taken out of my Paypal account the week before Christmas, to cut a long, long story short, if there was an alternative to PayPal I’d be using it….

Interestingly, I had an unauthorised payment made on my Paypal account over the w/end on some gaming website I’ve never been to (US$46). Have opened a dispute, so will see how that goes.

ATC SCM50 ASL paired with the C4 12″ sub.

The Frozen soundtrack never sounded so good 🙄

Finally these disc road bikes are getting clearance for using larger tyres

The current synapse easily takes 32c gravel kings with room to spare, so the clearance is nothing new.

Has anyone had problems with the silicone valve of the Fabric bottles coming out? My first one failed after a couple of uses, and the now the same thing has happened to the warranty replacement bottle after very little use. Lid is only rinsed under cold water, not thrown in the dishwasher, etc.
I haven’t read of anyone having this issue, but having 2 fail seems more than just bad luck!

Spawn cycles sell 127mm for US$60 + shipping, might be a bit short for what you’re after though.

I shortened a set of S600’s down to 102mm(iirc), worked well with a raceface taperlock BB(250g).

The wheels weigh a metric sht tonne, 1070g front, 1312 rear (with freewheel).
Shame Charge made a couple of really bad spec choices on this model.
Changing the front to a spare 550g road wheel I had made a noticeable difference!

If it’s just a bored-out standard fastener, then any machine shop could do it.

Otherwise, try Dougal at http://www.shockcraft.co.nz/%5B/url%5D he’s been fettling Manitous for years, and has a stockpile of stuff from older generation forks.

A friend ordered some basic Campag wheels from an online store and received a £700 pair. He didn’t return them.

Tektro mini-v’s were pretty tight above the rear tyre (couldn’t run it in the forward most position), front had more clearance.
Worst case cut a slot in the guard for the cable 🙂
Or run full sized v-brakes with appropriate pull levers.

Running a Maxxis Rambler rear with WTB Nano front, which is working well for a mixed road/gravel commute, as well as 100km gravel rides on my RLT.
The Rambler is noted for having a rather loose bead, so tubeless setup can be a faff.

+1 for the Niner RLT. Really enjoying mine, it’s designed for exactly what you describe. I suspect there will be a new version out soon to incorporate the changes they’ve made with the RDO version, so there may be some bargains to be had.

Just sold my pink one. Dangerous brake judder as discussed. Solve this with Tektro mini-v’s. wheels weigh a ton, and the gearing is too high if you have hills. Frame is nice enough though, loved the colour.

DeBuyer carbon steel in various sizes. Cheap and very non-stick once seasoned.
Also use a Scanpan stainless clad saute pan.

I have an ATC C4, which is ‘cleaner’ and more musical than most subs, but doesn’t give the percussive chest thump you’re after.
6mx7m is a reasonable space to fill, and I can see why that rega/neat combo might struggle. Perhaps some large PMC’s might be more suited to what you’re trying to achieve.
