Disappointed I didn’t get down to my target but still lost just under 5kgs, which at this time of year, I’ll take.

In for the new one as well

Only problem with the whole paintjob is that I am slightly scared to ride the bike now… I’ll weep when it gets the inevitable scratch or chip…

Can’t you put some protection on? Like the stuff for MTB. Even some good bike tape from Ebay won’t add that much weight :-) .

Make sure the primer bulb isn’t split or have a hole. Mine did this . It would start then die and really battle to get it started again. Turns out it was sucking air through the bulb. Couldn’t find a replacement so ended up using bike puncture repair kit. No problems since.

Only really worked it out when I was looking at the fuel line and it was full of bubbles.

I have the Trailwides on my Occam. MAde a huge difference to how the bike performed. I have put one small ding in the rear when I cased a jump onto a log. I was running a fairly low pressure in the rear. About 24psi. I now run the rear a bit harder at about 28 nd the front 25. Not had any issues since and I am about 87kg. Mostly Epping Forest riding but with a fair few trips to Scotland

Same story as MTB helmets. You really need to go and try them on. Buy the best you can afford. Unless you are riding an adventure bike with a windscreen I would avoid the peaked helmets as the peak can make them noisy and do get dragged around by the wind

    Still hovering around 87kg. :-(

You get used to putting in contacts very quickly. When I first got mine it used to take ages. Now probably just as quick or quicker as putting on my glasses cos I can never find the damn things.

Only place is import from the States. Upgrade won’t sell you the part but will do a rebuild. I think they quoted me about £60. Not too bad I thought but not had it done as I fixed the issue on mine. Which was the cable had kinked.

I won’t buy another for that reason.

Down half a kilo but seem to be stuck in this zone. Need to ride more but the weather has been dire and the forest is a quagmire.

I have a 57 reg one. I got it at 3 years old and 27k miles. It’s on 65k now. Still on the original battery although I don’t think it’s going to make it through another winter. Mine is the 2.0 litre HDI

Lives outside and has been pretty reliable. Only had regular oil changes and tyres. Had the cambelt changed at about 6 years old. Only real issue I had was the power steering motor went. Simple enough to change oil although I couldn’t work out where the oil filter was the first time I did one.

Now that it’s been mentioned there is a knock from the front which makes sense after the comment that the ARB bushes go. No rust and pretty good fuel consumption although I noticed that if I go over 70 it goes up a bit.

Also just remembered. HAd fueling issues which I worked out to a small hole in the priming pump bulb. Sealed with a puncture patch to get us going with the intention of replacing but not had the issue since so the patch seems to be doing well

Going to jump on as well. Was 92kg at the start of lockdown. Slowly losing weight which is a surprise really. Down to 88kg but seem stuck around this weight. Although lost a little more this weigh in. Not going to obsess it though.

Whys that then ? I’ve taxed cars I’ve bought out side office hours prior to bringing them home.

    All online.

You get a text saying the cars been taxed

It used to be that you could only register the car in your name online during office hours. As I said, I’m not sure if it’s changed or not but just a warning to check or OP could get caught out.

Just remember you won’t be able to tax it on a weekend or outside of office hours. Unless it’s at a post office. If they still do it?

Question : I need a replacement cartridge for a X-fusion Manic Dropper post. Do you supply them?
    Hi Ron
    Hi Tom
Let me check if they are available
    Thank you
They are not available to purchase aftermarket Ron, it will need to come back to us for a service and replacement
These are marketed by X-fusion as easily serviceable by the customer by simply replacing the cartridge. Why are they not available?
The service agreement we have with Xfusion is that they are not available to purchase aftermarket
How much is it to replace the cartridge?
A full service is £30 and a new cartridge is £30
Thank you. So £60? And how do I arrange this?
    https://www.upgradebikes.co.uk/Catalogue/FORMS/X-Fusion-Service-2
there is an online service form on this link
Thank you. I would appreciate it if you could feed back to X-fusion that I and a lot of other X-fusion dropper post users are extremely unhppy that we cannot do our own servicing?
I most certainly will Ron, please let us know if we can help with anything else and have a good day

    Nothing thank you Tom

May not be a horror story for most people on here but for a normal punter who knows nothing about bikes, these things should not be happening.

Mine didn’t have a padlock. Setup looked pretty much the same as all the pages in the link. My P20 has all the Google apps and they all work .

So far only a 40 minute drive in the car but it recorded the whole thing where before it didn’t even record 100 yards out my door on a ride.

Loads of KOM’s on that drive.

Only kidding. Deleted the whole thing.

I’m 170 on a large and it feels right. It’s taken a while to get used to it but that’s more to do with my old bikes geo than faults with this bike. I got the H20 Shimano. Lots of folk aske dif it’s a carbon frame it’s finished so nicely.

Just do what you feel is right foe you. I don’t think there is a right or wrong way.

Like with the kids returning to school. We have kept the grand kids home because we feel that it is still too soon We don’t think going back next school year will make any difference. My daughter has a heart condition. we felt that it was the right thing for us.

Almost the same as mine Alcolepone. I’m glad she has taken the time to reply though.

Thank you for your email about the Prime Minister’s adviser, Dominic Cummings. Please forgive me for taking longer than usual to reply. As you can imagine, I have received a very large number of emails about this issue. I have already made my own position clear to the Prime Minister and have also made sure that he is aware of the strength of feeling of many people who live in my Epping Forest constituency.

I share your concerns about the importance of observing the very restrictive rules under which we have all had to live during this unprecedented crisis. It would have been better if Mr Cummings had stuck more rigidly to those rules and set an example for the rest of the country.

My heart goes out to the many, many families who have not been able to be with their loved ones at their time of need and sometimes, tragically, in their last hours.

Whether Mr Cummings was right or wrong, I had hoped that he would apologise for the consternation that his course of action has caused. I am disappointed that he has not done so.

I hope that, looking forward, we can now all concentrate on doing our best to continue to combat the effects of the Virus and to help each other to get through this very stressful time. The vast majority of people throughout our country have worked with dedication and behaved with good sense during these difficult and disturbing weeks. We have achieved the first goal, to protect the NHS. I hope we can now go on working together to look after people who are vulnerable and to get our country moving again.

I appreciate your taking the time to contact me about this controversial and sensitive matter. As ever, your views and opinions are important to me.

Geez, you guys are making me paranoid now. 2 rides in so about 50 miles and I cased a jump onto a log the other day definately heard a funny sort of twang. After reading this I’ve been out to check the rim and it seems to be ok. Not taken the tyre off.

Must say I have noticed a big difference in how these roll compared to my old rims. They are about 1.2Kg lighter.
