I did my own on the same bike and matt finish and got a much better result. It was also my first ever attempt at doing it. I would not be happy paying for that!

Gained a bit back on the kg lost last week. Still miles from my target though

Pretty sure there used to be a Greenlane that passed really close to it. Last time I rode there was when it was still free though so I’m pretty sure a lot has probably changed since then

Down this week by 1kg. Doing a bit more riding so hopefully a trend that continue.
Don’t think I will be making my target but will keep trying.

I’m with the OP. We have a neighbour who has a garden that is not fit for even a rat to live in. I think what happened was that one of them moved out and into our garden. Next thing they had invaded the shed. And I mean invaded. Ate through the floor to get in then ruined everything inside.

We didn’t notice until it was too late as I think they got in during winter. They chewed all the garden furniture cushions and almost everything else they could get hold of. Even a blow up canoe. Everything they didn’t chew was covered in poo and pee. It stained the wood so much that we had to sand it down and repaint it all.

So I am way beyond a humane way of getting rid of them. We had a one or two hedgehogs in the garden regularly so didn’t want to go down the trap or poison route. Eventually after watching a YT video we set up a trap in the shed. A steel bin with water and a balloon on the top. Was a job getting such a big balloon. Spread some seed and corn on the top and left it. Came in to check in the morning and there were about 25 in the water. Not nice and I did feel a bit guilty. Set it up the next night and got another 25 or so.

Up a little again this week. I’m really not good at the diet thing :-(

If you’re intending to transfer the grease into a grease gun you can put the barrel of the grease gun over that hole and press – grease is then dispensed directly into the barrel.

I didn’t know that. And I have been working on cars and bikes for a long time. Always wondered why there was a hole in the middle.

Belray grease for me. Bought for my KTM head and pivot bearings. Kept them in pretty good nic so should be good enough for a bicycle.

Lost half a kilo. Going down slowly weight wise but see to have gone down half a size on my waist as the Madison shorts that were a tad tight are a bit loose now enen after cinching them up as much as possible.

We use them as well. Burn a bit smokey at first but soon stops. Cheapest I have found is Home Bargains at about 99p each

LHM is defo more viscous than Shimano Fluid.

Could you mix LHM with normal Shimano? And would it help with the viscosity to make it easier to bleed? I have some Shimano MO but not really enough.

I got made redundant when I was about 30. Took the next 5 years off skiing and surfing. Spent 4 months in Austria as a barman ski instructor then 2 months at home n South Africa surfing then 4 months in NZ skiing, working, back to SA for a few months till the season started in Austria again. Rinse and repeat.

Best time of my life but it has sort of set me back career wise. Would I change it . No, can’t buy those experiences.

Not sure I would do it now in my 50’s and also Brexit has scewed up being able to work the way we did in Europe

Down 200g. :-( Not a lot but it’s slowly going down and with the lack of riding and motivation due to the weather. I’ll blame the weather. :-) it’s better than slowly going up.

I have tried a few and the Giro helmets seem the best for me. Bell are also a good fit for me. but, as with all helmets you really need to try them on as everyone’s heads are different. I know not really an option at the moment.

Slight thread drift. Do you use a seal driver or can you get them in without one?

Slight(100g) loss. At least it’s not a gain. Hopefully like RJ, when I can more than one ride a week in it will be better.

I grew up in near Durban, South Africa. Grew up in a really rural location. My parents were Scots, but all my friends were Afrikaans so grew up speaking that away from home. I also was fluent in Zulu.

Now having moved back here I no longer hear or speak them and really struggle to talk them. When I go back it all seems to come back but nowhere near as fluent as I was.

Not always. Some shops have pre-ordered stock. The Orbea site just shows you what lead times you have if you ordered direct

Problem is all the main bike manufacturers are in the same boat. Very few of them can give firm delivery dates

So to buck the trend. My missus was in the market for a new car. We bought a Juke because she has difficulty getting in and out of low car and the Juke is just right for her. Some of the equivalent cars were just not as nice to drive to her. She likes the looks and calls it the ugly Car. You tell me?

To be fair to the car, it does what she wants. Starts every time and gets her from A to B warm and dry. She’s no Louis Hamilton so just wants something reliable, which it has been. I don’t mind driving it. It’s not the best car I have driven, it’s also not the worst by a long way. It wouldn’t have been my choice but as modern cars go it’s not bad.

The boots not that bad. The facelift ones have a false floor that can be removed which makes the boot a lot bigger.

I had to laugh at this in the comments

Well thank you very much. That’s my last chance of finding my way back totally buggered. Do you have any idea how hard it was to peel those damned tangerines while being dragged up that path by my woodcutter father? No, of course you don’t. You are only interested in making an example of me and worrying about snow. I tell you, if I ever find my way off this bloody hill (no thanks to you) I’ll be writing to ms MSP about this.

Can’t answer the first 2 but purple is slower. It has to be red. Red is the fastest.

I only ordered a front which turned up today. Unfortunately it’s Euro setup. :-( But I will probably just use the caliper on existing lever. Still a pretty good deal just for the caliper.

Still the same but not too down about it as I’m only riding once a week at the moment and even that’s in doubt when the weather is so bad.

Another rubbish week weather, exercise and head wise, back to where I started at 84kg.

Are you me? :-) Slightly up to 89 again.

Stayed the same. But the main thing is all the Christmas junk food is finished. So as someone said before. If you don’t have it, you can’t eat it.

Hopefully more riding from now on will help as well.

It’s hard to shut out all the negative. I think I’m really lucky that I’m still working and like someone said above I have lived in some shitty countries so really do appreciate how safe the UK is compared t them.

I have had the good fortune to have to, as part of what I do, deliver laptops from our council to schools for the kids. This is not part of the Governments initiative. It’s something the council I work for has done. We got a letter from one of the kids to say thank you. Terrible writing and all, :-) but it made a lot of us feel good in this pretty shitty time.

You have to take the small things when you can!

A lot of laptop chargers don’t have the earth pin connected to anything. I think the reason they are there is you cant insert the plug unless there is an earth pin. IANE

Disappointed but not surprised after Xmas. Still loads of junk food left from Xmas. So true what someone said. If you don’t buy it you can’t eat it. So eaten more than I should and got out less than I should. :-(

Hopefully just a glitch due to the time of year but will get back n track

Sorry to read this. It’s never easy and, I think gets harder with each one, but it is the right thing to do. Two years this Christmas with mine. Not had the heart to get another one yet but keep talking about it. It will be an old rescue though. Don’t want to make it too easy on myself. :-)

Damn, just checked. It was 3 years ago. Still miss him.

I used to ride with a very good roadie. I always used to get a bit light headed aafter a big climb or exertion if I just stopped. He always said not to just stop after a big climb or burst, His advice was to just ride slowly around if you could as heart rate will then come down more naturally. Not sure how true it is but I still do it and don’t get the light headedness i used to get.
