Thanks guys. I’ve always had dogs. Normally Staffs.(I know) but never had this with Staffs except they didn’t always get on with other dogs so were kept on a lead if there was any doubt.

Sorry to sidetrack your thread @mdavids

Thanks for the advice. We think he was badly beaten before he came to us. I was in the kitchen making pies, I took the rolling pin out the draw and he went mental. Attacking the pin. It’s like a switch. The other night he was on the couch next to me. Came over for a cuddles and turned on me. Just missed my face. I think he wasn’t going for me. Just warning.

Other times he is really affectionate. We can tell. he gets a look and his ears go back and sort of turn in. Most times we just turn our hands to him, say no, and he seems to snap out of it.

Things like he could not go up stairs. Wouldn’t cross a line between rooms. When I touched his back near his bum he would go mad, In the beginning it was almost constant but he’s improved almost beyond recognition but there is still that edge.

We have only had them three months so still working on it.

We have adopted 2 french Bulldogs from the same home. Never been walked, socialised or trained. We knew or work was going to be hard to sort them. . One is the gentlest, loving female. the male is fine one minute, next is trying to bite.

As we have worked with them he has got better but walking them is a nightmare. Whenever another dog comes close they go into a snarling snapping frenzy. Really embarrassing because people naturally assume I can’t control them, but they are slowly getting better with a lot of work. I don’t think they will ever be perfect though. They are never off the lead as I know that they are so unpredictable and I definitely don’t have control.

Luckily we live in a small village and every dog walker knows us and are understanding. To be honest we are battling with the boy and he is coming close to being put down as i simply can’t trust him not to bite. So any recommendations on how to help him would be very welcome?

MosI spent was £1800 for an Orange 5. But I knew the PO and knew it was almost brand new with a heap of upgrades. Won’t do it again though. Plenty of nice bikes for around that price new.

We were there a couple of months back and spoke to the owner. It is still a cafe but due to Covid they are not opening again this year as he said it wasn’t worth it as it cost too much to run and the season was almost over. Late August it was. Don’t forget Wales ahs different, stricter Covid rules.

He said that they were planning on opening again next year but everything depends on Covid.

I bought a car recently this way. Sent the funds through my app, they didn’t appear in the sellers account. We were then both stuck, I couldnt leave without the money or the car, and neither could he. Turned out my bank fraud department blocked it but unlike fraud transactions they didn’t think to contact or notify me. Spent a stressful hour getting through to my bank (first direct who are normally pretty good) to fix it

I had the same with FD, but when I phoned them they wouldn’t clear the funds. Said it would be donein two days. Problem was I was off on holiday for 2 weeks. So I asked them to cancel as I would use another account to pay, they said no problem. Only they didn’t. So now the seller had twice the amount of money for the car and I was away.

Luckily he was pretty decent and paid it back straight to me. Could have been a lot worse and I don’t mind saying I was bricking it as it was a fair amount.

What’s really worrying is that there is a fairly large number of his supporters already flying Trump 2024 flags and other pro Trump banners. So they clearly have not given up on him.

I’m not talking about poor uneducated people either. These are flying on million dollar boats and really expensive monster trucks.

So all I’m saying is don’t think he has gone yet. He and his ilk are here for a while yet. IANATS!

I worked at one at North Weald Airfield. Sadly gone under due to Covid but I would say that it was a great experience for kids. The only limit we had was height because if they were way too short they could not reach the pedals.

Most kids really enjoyed it. I would also say it helps if you had a good instructor. Some of ours were really really good, one or two were absolutely dire.

    Beware the add ons.

No need for risky and painful digging around with sharp implements.

Not as much fun though :-)

I had one as well, for about 8 years. Nothing worked. Bazuka just made it painfull. It wasn’t painfull normally. Only time I might get some pain was after a long day pedaling.

One day I noticed it had gone. No Dear John note or fairwell. Just gone. Bliss!

She’d have been shit out, then. A kettle lead will fit a PC but a PC “kettle lead” won’t actually fit a kettle. Kettle leads are heat-rated, they have a notch in the plug / ward in the socket to prevent you from using unrated cables

No idea. Point was they had removed it and wouldn’t replace it as it wasn’t their job. I was contracting at a council about 15 years ago and encountered that attitude a lot.

My best is customer saying the monitors not working. asked her if it’s switched on?
No I unplugged it yesterday because I needed the kettle lead for the kettle.
Can you plug it back in please.
    No, that’s not my job.

If it was your child you need only a hammer to the dog’s brain.

Ha! Good luck with that. Hitting a moving target with a hammer. I have a hard enough time not hitting my finger holding a stationary nail. I’d probably injure the kid. :-(

    From Pistonheads

Ha I was wondering how long before that video was posted on here – its mates of mine and I’d often be in that group with them

The video didnt show the full story

The driver was held up for about a min through a twisty 30mph section

Driver overtook, beeped, then brake tested them in front suddenly as payback

Riders filtered and swerved round him

Chap went to ask the driver whats up, leans on window for balance, driver explodes, grabs him inside, punches rider

RIders wife was in front of car and is now being run over, as driver isnt really driving but trying to beat up cyclist alongside

Driver went nuts and blames cyclist for it all, even though the driver break tested them looking for a fight

I can only say that when we had storage heaters our leccy bill was ridiculous. I think it was almost £500/month in winter. And that was heating them overnight with Economy 7

The shock bolt issue is only on the 2020/21 model. I don’t think it was an issue on the older ones. I have a 2020 H20 and didn’t have any problems but replaced it for the sake of £6.

I’m about 5″9 and have a large which I think is just about right for me. Really enjoying riding it. Only thing I have changed so far is the saddle. The Fizik that came with it must be the most uncomfortable saddle I have ever sat on.

Next thing will be the rear tyre. The Rekon just has no grip in the wet but is really good in the dry

I’m enjoying pointing out to my Spanish friends that we’ve got the same number of golds as their position in the medals table, so thank you (British taxpayers) for helping fund this 👍

The attitude of some is appalling. I was riding through Epping forest and came up to a pinch point where I had right of way. I was coming down the hill and was practically on the hump in the middle of it when the woman coming the other way just kept coming.

I had moved over as much as I dared to give her room but she actually steered towards me. I admit I lost it a little and hit her mirror as she went past. Sorry but if I can touch any part of your vehicle you are way to close to me.

As @Onzadog says. Google golden paste. When my Staffy got arthritis it really helped. Turmeric, coconut oil and black pepper. Made it up into a paste and fed him a bit daily.

It’s now based around trying not to be slow and look like an idiot in front of others (if I ride in a group),

Come ride with me. You’ll look like a pro.

I bought 2 huge steaks fro Sainsburys yesterday. £5 each. Cooked on a very hot griddle. Didn’t think they would be any good because they were cheap but I was pleasantly surprised.

My neighbour ordered a gravel Ti frame and then decided to order the whole build. 3 weeks from change of order to delivery. He was well impressed as he fully expected to have to wait. It really is a lottery.

Broke my Tib and Fib at the ankle. Plated. Four months to get back on the bike. Like someone above. Was riding before I could walk properly. I found that riding was the best physio for it. Didn’t do any strenuous MTB riding but was riding properly about 6 months after breaking it.

Still have the plate even though they offered to take it out. Couldn’t face another op. Consultant was pretty good about it. He just said if it ever bothers me to let them know and they would book me in to have it out

So disappointed that I didn’t do better but I’m coming down slowly and new target is to get to my target weight by the end of summer. Lost 2kg in a pretty stressful time in all our lifes. So I’ll keep going.
