Looks like rain over the weekend for Walesduro. I’m thinking of taking a tent instead! I think the extra weight will be worth the shelter overnight.

I was thinking too he should have got going earlier!

I also thought it could be a set up video.

This is a helpful thread. I’m signed up to do it.

    * I’m bivvying at the farm, planning on using a lot of insect repellent

    * I’ll probably push some of the slate, I don’t want a puncture

    * More pushing on the gap, looks unrideable for my level

    * I’ll start early both days, 6am as I’m really slow

    * I’ll go as light as I can, bivvy, mat, sleeping bag main weights

Any other tips to help me finish? Finishing is my only aim 🙂

I ran it through ChatGPT – I would recommend this approach.
    Here’s a sample –

    Dear [Manager’s Name],

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to provide you with a detailed overview of my daily responsibilities in my role within the local government, emphasizing how my contributions are indispensable to our team’s success.

A significant portion of my daily tasks revolves around Excel spreadsheets. I meticulously analyze, manage, and manipulate data using advanced Excel functions and macros, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in decision-making processes. My ability to translate complex data into actionable insights equips our team with a valuable resource for informed policymaking and resource allocation.

In addition to Excel, I play a pivotal role in crafting impactful presentations through PowerPoint. I create visually engaging slideshows that distill complex information into clear, concise, and persuasive messages. My expertise in design, data visualization, and storytelling transforms our ideas into compelling narratives that resonate with stakeholders, making our proposals and reports stand out.

Furthermore, I actively contribute to project management, coordinating tasks, timelines, and resources to keep our initiatives on track. My organizational skills and attention to detail are vital in ensuring the success of these projects.

In summary, my daily activities are foundational to the local government’s operations. My proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, along with my project management skills, make me an indispensable asset to the team, enabling us to excel in data-driven decision-making and communication.

Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this impactful work.

Iran gains by attention turned away from its nuclear programme.

Will Israel turn to Iran next?

It seems like this will go on for a long time. Hamas are terrorists, the Israeli government are terrorists. The balance of power is firmly on the side of the Israeli terrorists and not the Palestinian terrorists, meaning when it’s all happening, Palestinian civilians will suffer on a greater scale.

    It’s distressing to watch.

“Brexit is at the core of everything, directly and indirectly. Until you understand this and stop pretending things are magically going to get better then there is no discussion to have with you.”

I thought I had all bases covered but I’m adding narcissism for dummies to the starter pack.

I love the look of these! Boardman are onto something surely.
I hope they come out really light.

I could see that being a good bikepacking bike too

I can’t tell you “what”, but I can confidently tell you “where” it would be located:

    AMERICA.

I’ve not read any of the thread, but 14 pages discussing a tweet by Gary Lineker? 🙂

I would guess he’s thinking about running for President/PM.

What a time to be alive!

I drove the M4 today – was pretty shocked at some of the craters on it.
I thought the motorways were always kept in good condition.

200km in, trying a consistent approach this year, getting up at 6 and doing 60 each day. Mix of in and out, mainly in.

Struggling this morning but I guess that’s why they call it a challenge.

    🙂

    Things to remember:
    1. Everyone who is a builder, who does something, as opposed to sitting around watching others, makes mistakes. Everyone.
    2. At the end of a project when it’s bedded in and running, no-one remembers the mistakes, they just think about the value it’s giving, not any bumps in the road to get there.

Don’t beat yourself up mate! And don’t think about it anymore until Monday.
    You are exactly the kind of guy that employers love – you will own this and fix it :)}
    Have a great Sunday!

    1. Anyone who starts a reply with the word “Listen”.
No – you **** off you self important ****. Seems to be part of media training, hear it all the time on the radio.

    2. “I am loving it”
    **** off.

Thanks. Did you have to do anything more than remove pedals, loosen bars?

(Wondering if I’ll need to take tires off which would be a major pain)

    Cheers

The advice above about the wifi channel sounds the likely cause to me if it’s intermittent.
I think I have the same issue.

Cut one tony_teacakes down, and two more grow in its place.

Leave the thread open for the evening shift to pick up.

It is highly possible that tony_teacakes is actually an AI forum bot.

Trained to search the internet for provocative text and re-hash it in threads like this.

I suggest that it has been unleashed on STW forum as it is an ideal training ground for such a bot. Each reply we type causes it to level up, each argument we offer it gets eaten up, machine-learnt and then spat back at us.

Pretty soon, we will have many tony_teacakes on the bike forum too. They will post gibberish about head angles, start hundreds of threads on tyre choice and brag incessantly about Strava KOM’s.

And their owners in Moscow, Washington, Tehran, wherever they may be, will rub their hands in glee at our engagements with them.

And they will marvel how these bots brought chaos to what was previously a wise and sane forum.

In 1989, Winger released the song “Headed for a Heartbreak”, taken from their self-titled album, “Winger”.

Not many people associate it with the state of the UK housing market 2022-5.

    Thank you.

No love here for station eleven?
    It’s amazing, almost perfect television.

The theme is the power of art in the post apocalypse.

Best TV I’ve seen for a long time.

It’s certainly a bold and strong look!
The shirts would have to be amazingly good quality to put up with those colours.
At least if you spill food down it, it won’t show.

If you’ve been vaccinated, then there should be full GPS positioning on your whereabouts since the second jab, including audio. Not sure how you retrieve it though.

PS: Good luck, I hope you sort it! Nightmare!

    Boring reply but –
Lateral flow tests are for asymptomatic people
PCR is the test for people showing symptoms”

    What madeupname said!

I don’t think everyone in the UK completely gets this yet. Probably could have been a better education thing on it.

2 Parents at our school: “Our kid had covid symptoms, but lat tested fine, and me & wife lat tested fine too, so wasn’t covid”. Not a surprise it’s getting round the schools a bit!

I’m using blockfi, I like the interest on crypto, and get it paid in ETH. There’s a risk for sure, but I can live with it. Blockfi look a pretty well set up outfit. Of course, it could go wrong but I’ve read up on it, and believe the risk is worth it
