@ rocket dog..how do you find the blunts? I recently got advised against them by a bike shop as he said they don’t make for a strong wheelset..

I take it I’d need to calculate the required spoke length first then try and find some..are all sp spokes the same ( other than length )?

    Apologies for the thread-jack..
I’m after a new wheel-build and wanted to eventually run 11sp (with Shark expander) but was hoping to use my existing sram 10sp until I can upgrade..from what I take from this thread is that it can’t be done or can you keep hubs and swap xd adapters or whatever..

Tbf though Wrightyson if your giving him work worth £80k you know your prices and if your happy with his work talk to him and tell him you reckon he’s overpriced it by x amount..

Definitely liked the stealth look on the Velocity blunts but was told they don’t make a very strong wheel build. I’ll take a look at the i25s..is that 25mm internal?
If so I wanted a wider profile..

Wrightyson…I’m guessing 200m2 of ceilings over 2 floors..I’d charge you £1000 to Tape n joint them alone. Approx. 250m2 pb to Tape n Joint per floor another
£2K, how much DnD? 300m2 possibly..that’ll cost you £7m2 incl adhesive and sticking reveals.. ( windows/doors ) measured over..so I’m at 5100 + cost of boards..this is based on my Tape n Joint prices of 7 years ago on commercial sites with 3k – 10,000m2 of partioning. House bashing was below me..and I’ve never understood why you’ld skim over a perfectly flat surface like plasterboard unless you can’t fix for shit which is the house bashing game..prices are so shit you have to be quick to make any money and the last trades ie..jointer or spread end up trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
Maybe he doesn’t want the job

Insurance was due to end 2 months after the right-off. No monies/ monthly payments were owed on the policy. In hindsight I should of let the policy run and said I wasn’t renewing..but then again I wasn’t expecting to pay a cancellation fee in the first place. I phoned them Kwikfit up explains I no longer need the policy as I don’t have the car anymore..Next thing I’m getting charged for cancelling…

If I’m reading it right Wrightyson he has to dab all the external & internal walls then skim the lot including the ceilings built by A N other..

I’ve phoned Kwikfit and the £37 is a cancellation fee and are happy for me to pay them the amount which I’ll do when I’m home from work. I just hope now that the debt collection agency ARC, don’t bill me for costs..should I notify them?

Would willingly buy you all a pint…PayPal gift ok?
No,I told them that as soon as I disputed it with Kwik fit they sold the debt..

So many knowledgeable people on a diverse amount of topics..thanks everyone for the advice. Afaik the £37 is of the table as I now have a letter from their ‘solicitors’ and the debt is now £125…
    @ Cougar…I didn’t tell them what?

Thanks Stoner, what still amuses me is being at the cafe by that lake everyone sipping a cold one when Ambrose comes around the corner holding a phone to his ear and asks ” does anyone know anything about capital gains tax?” Funnily enough 2 financial advisers in our group..who’d of thunk it?
Another pic..think this was returning back up to Mossetts lift

We went down the other side earlier, turned right for a steep singletrack descent to a cafe, a small black run down to another lift then took the lift up for a vicious twisty red through the trees..
    My favorite descent..

Had a great ride with you guys on the 15th.
A big thanks to Stoner for taking the time to plan the route and even transfer the route to a map..ice cream and beer 2000m up next to a lake 23km ridden and all but about 100m of the 2000m of ascents via chairlifts and cable-car..2000m of descent s..fantastic..I’d do this again in a heartbeat..

Just read the plans for tomorrow. What are the required skill levels? We’re not on DH bikes and are happy with the blues and some of the reds here…spent all day today at super Morzine and yesterday at LG. Is there an estimated ascent in meters etc..

    What’s the van for?
I’ll have a word with my companions and see what they say..so is the STW meet now on the 14th?
The reason I ask about the van is because I’ve a LWB Sprinter that seats 7 ( we are 5 ) but could probably get 20+ bikes in..

    There’s a spreadsheet?

Fantastic. I’ve just bought a 59 plate LWB Sprinter for the same shenanigans. I’ll start a new thread soon. It’s going to be a drawn out long drawn-out affair though and has to be built as a van that I can use in the week for my carpentry/ building business. With this in mind the ability to carry 8×4 sheets and long timbers poses it’s own hurdles. For the rear I was thinking 2 single beds that fold up and away into the sides but form a double in the down position..
I’m not looking forward to the electrics

5 of us will be there from 12 – 19th. 4 being Morzine virgins. I don’t mind meeting up on the 15th. My email is in my profile…I don’t mind Pedally once I’m at the top and travelling horizontally.

Depends what the job is. I only have trade cash accounts after getting stung for £13k a few years back. I’ve been self-employed for 30 years and since it happened ask for the materials up front as I don’t have a tab incase it happens again.
I will add though that all my work is from recommendations.
