    Should you put a helmet on if you’re just riding to the shops???

    Anything could happen ..nothing might.

    I know of a mates girlfriend who smashed her face on the pavement, loosing teeth, just swinging her leg over a bike.

    Answer to your Q woukld be if you have to ask then yes until your skills improve. If you have to buy one especially it’ll be there for when you want to tackle more gnarly stuff. The thing is once you’ve learnt this size jump you’ll want to tackle the next size up.

    SPDs ( and learning to use them ) would of given you more of an actual ‘ race ‘ advantage than saving 100 – 150g on flats. Eating the Daim half an hour before the race starts would also help.

    I use flats btw.

    We’re both on hard-tails. I’ll have a MKII Bfe built up by then and I’ll pass my Savage Raptor HT on to my son.

    A man answers a knock at the front door to find two policemen standing there.

    Policeman ” Sir, I’m afraid it looks like your wife’s been involved in an accident “

    Man, ” I know, but she has a lovely personality “.

    I’ve an old ( P reg ) imported, Cyprus? Nissan D21 the model before the current Navara ( d22 ). 2.7td and it returns about 23mpg but I’m always stop starting, doing short runs and carrying a load. Its a 2×4 with optional 4×4 & high and low ratios. The 4×4 mode is fantastic. Last winter I towed both a transit van and the timberwolf chipper which it was attached to out if a water-logged field and uphill out of another field without slipping once. What I like most though is that it has a full-size double cab ( no half-cab here ) and full-size pick-up bed ( 7 foot ) ..bike and kit storage for me, sons & mates not a problem.

    I also owned a Dodge double-cab pick-up with an 8′ bed. 5.2l v8 – 17mpg…but you travelled in absolute luxury…1800rpm at 70 and power on tap if needed.

    …and had a ’78 Chevy C20 pick-up as a bit of a hobby. Had a transit diesel engine in it when I bought it so imported a 500bhp v8 small-block Chevy engine for it, race box,exhaust, carb etc. That was fun.

    If I had a choice and done it all again for a daily driver I’d have a lpg converted Dodge. Lpg would equate to about 34mpg.

    Security screws on hinges, or better still move the hinges ( so they’re hidden ), line with steel mesh on the inside and over-board with ply, mesh on windows and fix shed to ground.

    Walked into my local in Germany to see a female friend, who up until now had only worn jeans & t-shirt ( and had bit of a crush on me ) wearing a dress. I asked ” who’s died? ” and smiled. She’s says ” my Gran “. Classic.:-)

    @chakaping..indeed sir.

    I’ve pretty much made mind up that these two best suit my situation atm.

    I would hate to buy a Bfe to find it’s hard to manual or an ultra harsh ride ( although I doubt the latter as I’m 15 stone ) like the whole support British thing and dropper compatible ( I’d need a shim though as my dropper is 30.9 ).

    Surge = shorter ( & adjustable ) stays, £60 cheaper ( although I would need to buy a 27.2 dropper )

    Everyone who’s had/ has a Surge loves it and duty Bfe owners.

    #Nimo…I read that..couldn’t find a sizing chart though. What size rider would that be for?..and don’t they have a relatively high bb.

    OP..don’t tell the police it’s been stolen again..especially after posting on a forum about what you should/ can do. There was a chap sentenced this week after asking/ posting on a forum about how to ‘ get off ‘ receiving points on his licence.

    Oh..and it’s morally wrong.

    Not onto the drive. Its the sheer volume of water from the drive and the car-park causing the problem.
