So how does the BB height on the Bfe compare to other frames that will take 140mm Forks or even 160 ie. NS Surfe, Alpitude, Dialled Alpine, Production Privée Shan to Name a few?

Not possessing an eletric planer and having just made a straight-edge guide for my Circular..I thought I’d use it. I can make a guide for my router although I’ve used a clamped spirit-level in the past. Sacrificial end pieces are a sound idea.

Sanderson claim their Blitz ( AM Long Travel frame ) weighs 4.6lbs in 18inch size…I find that hard to believe though..

On the subject weight, low CoG etc. 99% of riders prefer the advantages of a Dropper-post off-set against the additional weight of 1lb that high up on the bike…so Hora where do you want this thread to go….

    ……A 3lb Steel LT HT?

I didn’t think that a chimnea thread would be quite so elitist.. so seeing as nobody is answering questions bout Fire-pits I’ll start a different thread…so there!

    Here.

I had a chimnea that cracked so was thinking of getting a fire-pit type thing for the whole ‘ campfire ‘ mood. Are they really rubbish ie. Smokey, ash blowing everywhere etc?

+1 Penmachno…turn right behind the pub, drive all the way up the hill till it opens out a bit. There’s a fireroad to the left, one of the Penmachno trails ( the lesser one ) leads off to the right. Utterly amazing views..I’ll Defo be going again this year.

Left a Santana gig in Stuttgart half way through…very dissapointing Live.

Would of left a Bob Dylan gig in Brum a few years ago if I hadn’t been driven there..OH fell asleep. Seems like he tried to put a modern beat to his old Classics Borderline fraud

On a different note, a few years ago OH and I were going to a Gig in London ( to see Rammstein I think ) and thought we’d pass on the Warm-up band but arrived to catch the Last 2 or 3 ‘ songs ‘. Wish we’d seen them from the beginning. They were Apocalyptica…just 4 cellos playing some cool Rock… Seen them at Download since..

rwc03 looks like an ok price. Afaik the LXT models were the better ones in the Makita line-up.
A metal chuck would of been a bonus. Quite often you’ll see a Hitachi DV18DSDL on the bay of E’s for £185 + £15 delivery with 2 x 4Ah batteries. Bargain!

I couldn’t find a jockey-wheel that I could set the height of the wheel. All the Jockey-wheels I saw had a wheel on a spring thus continually forcing the gate upwards.

@ slack..yes, treated softwood. probably Conifer. Hence I do expect them to sag over time. ( nothing adjustable hinges can’t sort )

    So any suggestions on books?

I’ve been in construction for 25+ years and have never had a Makita drill/ driver. Cheap tat as fsar asI’m concerned. Mate had one of the Screwfix specials £99 with 2 batteries ( not lithium ) took it back every couple of months as batteries were shot. I’ve had a Dewalt 18v ni Cad for 10 years of hard proffesional use paired up with a Hitachi 14v impact driver. Both died last November and i’ve replaced with a Milwaukee 18v Lithium Ion which seems to be holding up well. It has 51Nm of torque. My soon to be next purchase will be this Hitachi DV18DSDL with 2 4Ah bats & 92Nm of torque.

If its just a drill your after This is fantastic.

and the moral of the story is wear a ful-face until your confident…and when you are confident dont wear one cause you’ll look like a d1ck. Even more so than when your wearing nappies cause a bad fall/ knock on the head caused you to loose your over your bowels.

Don’t have a problem with natural riding. Having someone that knows where they’re going is a bonus so as there’s no wasting time or even being caught out being miles from home, fading light with kids in tow.
