I have to curve the ‘ Rise ‘ which is a length of decking face on. Once I have the rafter ends cut to length to form the curve I can fix the decking riser. Once the ‘ rise ‘ is fixed i will overhang the decking tread and cut to length.

That’s it. The red curve is the one I’m after. I need to transfer it to the decking though. If I was to devide the 4m up into 10 equal bits how much, going from L to R is each section bigger than the previous?

I know the rise but thats not important atm. the treads are going level from right to left. If you were to look along the ‘ nose ‘ of the step it would curve outwards from 0mm to 250mm over a distance of 4.0m.

Not a problem to build one from scratch but it depends on your diy skills. When I build summer-houses or sheds etc. I find that you cannot buy the wood cheaper than you can buy a finished kit for.

I couldn’t get on with the charge spoon either. I have an OEM Specialized one atm butt ( ha ha ) its only good for about 3 or so hours. I’m in the market for a new saddle also. I’ve been recommended to measure my ‘ sit-bones ‘ and get one that fits other than trial and error. Possibly Specialized or SQ-Lab.

I’ve always run my back brake on the right. This stems from riding/ racing BMX in the 80’s and only having one brake…on the right ( my stronger hand ).

Nowadays I just think its logical, seeing as the front brake is responsible for approx. 70% of overall braking, that I don’t need it on my strong hand. I find it gives me a more balanced braking feel.

    Just my tuppence worth.

@ Milkie…as ahwiles says the BB is 30mm lower than an imaginary line that runs from front to rear axle on the Ramones wjere as for comparison the Bfe is 7.5mm at 160mm travel ( according to the Geek ‘ slider on cotics web-site )

I wanted to re-open this as I wanted to know your thouhts on the Geo (bb drop) of the Commencal Ramones CroMo. Ha 66, SA 72, bb -30mm, chainstay 420mm. As far as I can make out measurement are taken with an unsagged fork.

Anyone ridden/ have one? How does it compare to say a Bfe?

Your tip will probably want it double bagged. Don’t go near it without soaking it well beforehand. Ideally have a very fine mist/ spray whilst bagging. Maximum dust suppression is your friend here. P3 mask and paper suit, wear over wellies and rubber gloves & tape cuffs

My current frame ( Savage Raptor ) is made for 100mm forks but I’m running Zocchi 55’s @ 145, been like it for a year without problems..Welsh trails & trail-centers, road, bridalways etc. And I’m a slim 200lbs.. 😆

I wouldn’t say that it’s ok with every frame though. I paid £30 new for the frame so wasn’t a big concern.

I can quote and build it if you wish ( email is in my profile ) in any size shape or form…..but I can’t buy the wood cheaper than you can buy a flatpacked shed for…and it will be better quality and stronger. You’ll find cheapo flat-packed sheds have the integral strength of a wet paper bag…

Call me old fashioned but is Twitter (which I don’t do/ have ) and facebook a proffesional way to conduct business? Why should my enquiry be there for all to see?
It could of/ would of been financially viable if I had gotten a reply.
Have i just been unlucky ….3 times?

Why write a letter on paper? He’s had 3 letters from me.
