Sorry, I thought H4 was a headlamp bulb.
I’d like my headlights to be more of a white than a yellow.

I was putting some finishing touches on some internal cladding in a summer-house I’m building. What did you do?

@ br…enforcement measures? Their surely not gonna clamp just yet? I’ve haven’t put my second appeal yet ( or sent them wasps )…

Quick update. I received a reply today from the Bracknell forest council rejecting my appeal as the supplied photos show my ticket upside down on the dash. I’m a bit gutted really. I certainly haven’t deliberately set out to deceive or anything. I followed the rules and paid for the service I was using. I expect to be given the benefit of doubt.

So I’ve emailed them explaining the situation and asking them to adjust their records accordingly. They will probably ask me for a copy of the ticket which I will then send them. The ticket doesn’t have a sticky back and it looks like one of the heat sensitive paper types so will it fry if I scan it?

Ticket was valid at the issue time of the fine. It has made me question though whether the ticket was the right way up on the dash. I wouldn’t of put it on the dash upside-down.

@ Slackalice…I was thinking along those lines. Thing is it has to fit in an octagonal space. I’m thinking to work it out so…a semi-circle with a radiusof 114cms has an arc length of 358cms. The backrest slopes back 10deg to a height of 46cms increasing the radius of the larger semi-circle by 81mm giving the arc a length of 383cms. 383cms devided by 9cms ( cladding width ) is 42.5 pieces. 358cms devided by 42.5 = 8.42cms.

Therefore I would need 42 pieces of cladding 46 cms long ( ends cut at 10 deg ) top remains 9cms wide shamfering down to 8.4cms ( 3mm – 0 off of both edges )

Have had a Dewalt dc618 for a couple of weeks now. I already had the 18v bats so it was a logical choice. Cost me £165 from the bay. I’m currently using it on t & g and cladding duties used in conjunction with framing silicone. I can’t imagine going back to hammering or screwing. It is quite bulky though but that’s the price of having a big NiCad battery on it. No Probs attaching 20mm Redwood T & G to C24 bearers on depth setting 2 ( it goes up to 6 ).

Timber cladding won’t necessary look bad and can look right if tastefully done even if you only part clad. You could use a cedar or something like a Scotlarch ( locally sourced and sustainably managed ) or a Siberian Larch.

Timber is a sustainable product and IMO should always be the first thing to consider when building. We have more forests in Europe now than we did 100 years ago.

At JCL…..Yep, wood; the only sustainable building material. No cement used. Not even on the fence-posts.

A Summer house project….my first time working with shingles…

I have the ridge & Fascia shingles to finish, T & G floor inside to stain, seating and a table to make as well as the internal T & G panneling.

Contact your local bmx racing club and they should let you have a go on a club bike which will be ideal for sizing. Where abouts are you based?

I don’t have a problem putting guttering on it as that was always my intention. Looks like I’m gonna be doing it by hanging off the roof. I don’t think the neighbor’s going to let me do it from his side..

It is within the permissible build rules even though it’s within 2 meters of the boundry it doesn’t exceed 2.5 meters in height as I knew the regs before starting the build. It’s the council ( landlord ) saying I should of had permission to build it to which I have submitted per email today. let’s see what happens.

The neighbors yellow sign says beware patroling dogs or something like that. ( He doesn’t have any dogs ).

maybe the perspective is wrtong. don’t confuse the front fence as being part of the shed. the shed is only 2.8 or 3meters long

’97 Nissan D21. I can remove the caliper from the carrier and remove the carrier from the wheel assembly. I can’t remove the sliders from the carrier. The Caliper slides over the carrier and bolt on by the ‘ sliders ‘.
