update..dad has phoned his insurance to get a quote and they don’t recognise the reg. Dad relates this to the seller and gets given a ‘I’m sorry I made a mistake’ the reg is 07 G 4908..to which the insurance draw another blank. Dad phones the seller to say that he’s not interested any more and the seller offers to bring the van to him…

    Glad he’s out of that.

Yet you managed to stay pretty squeaky clean in all this..

If the screw does get colder than the the inside of the van you might get a little condensation on the screw head but that would be all. I very much doubt that would happen though.

Hi TW..that’s what I meant. I need to do similar in my van. I wouldn’t worry about the screws causing cold-bridge issues unless you’ve gone all the way through the floor.
Grand job so far keep it up.

Ask LL what deal they can do for cash. Also try a spesh concept store. In 2014 Certini Plymouth knocked £700 quid off of a £2700 Spesh Enduro if I didnt go the 0% route. It was july though so a little bit later into the model year.
Other than that go Bird with Yari and dropper. Nothing wrong with the Yari forks on my current Spesh.

I phoned varios courts and witnwss liason officers yesterday to get to the botton of it. It has now been adjourned until 24 July. I was, however, told that he was called by the defence to gi e evidence and that the prosecution (cps) wanted to cross examine. I also had a very long conversation with someone from these pages who knows his stuff and he has given some sound advice and explained the procedure, situation and various scenarios to me. That man, you are a star, youu know who you are and as said yesterday beers and some grub on me when I’m next up in the Dales.
Meanwhile my son contacted the police who contacted him yesterday and he has gone down to the station to amend or correct his statement. I’ll know more when he comes back.

Back on track, as my other diversion today has been postponed until 24th july,

    …its non-rice chilli-con-carne topped jacket tatties..

Above mentioned recepies will be tried in due course. I have a tennis ball somewhere under the stairs unless a fresh one is required.

went last year to Morzine Les Gets etc.. MM front took the Ardent off of the back as it squirmed hitting the berms hard and put a Shorty on the back as it was what I had with me. Take spares as nowhere sells 29er tyres ( other than NN )

I think he might of been slighty ‘intimidated’ by his boss at the time and this reflected in his statement. He was renting a room of of his boss, in his house, at the time. It turned out his boss was a bit of a drinker…coupled with a few mental issues and violence etc. I’m glad my son was able to get out of the whole situation. I think he gave his statement under fear of a violent reproach if he didn’t give a ‘favorable’ statement..

I don’t know if the defense are calling him as a witness..maybe they are. I think my son would rather not turn up altogether as he has already been threatened with violence when he stopped working for him. seems like he’s scared things could esculate if court goes against his ex-boss.

My son has been told he faces prosecution if he doesn’t turn up to court.
things have come to light since the event where my son doesn’t believe his original statement rings true about his ex-boss not being a tad racist and tried to retract his statement months ago.

Wait until 2 days after payday. If he hasn’t offered by then he’s not going to. Like above, if it was me you were giving a lift to you wouldnt have to ask.

What’s occurred to me is what all these motorists could be capable of when surrounded by 2 tons of metal. It borders on ‘hate-crime’.
There would be a absolute uproar if you replaced the word cyclist with the ‘N’ word.
..i would of run the N over..
Punch the N in the head as you drive past…
    All N’s are…**nts
Theres no difference as to how these motorists should be treated.

I don’t for one miute think a companies reputation should be bought down by the actions of one man. I don’t think Vidette have done themselves any favours by not responding.

I did message the company last night with a link to the video asking what it’s all about. Their response was that the driver has been dealt with accordingly…whatever that means.

I really struggle to keep my calm when reading the comnents of the motorists saying things like ‘ “should of killed him ( the cyclist), I’d have run him over, death to cyclists, I’d have stopped the van and beaten the shit out of him….
It doesn’t seem to matter how many times you try and explain the cyclists position on the road in the eyes of the MAJORITY of motorists we, as cyclists, are scum.
As said above, the police should go through every ‘cyclist hate comment’ and force a refresher course on the drivers.

I would of had the Maxxis in 3.0 if they did them it’s not about the size.
It’s a personal thing I suppose. I was never a fan of the Spesh tyres even on my Enduro. The HRII has been an excellent front tyre so far. When I demoed the Levo at cannock I found I couldnt ride hard into the berms entering half way into the turn without the front sliding into the banked bit of the berm. With the spesh tyre on the front I’d have to follow the berm all the way around. With the Maxxis I can enter the corner early, late, high or low without having to think about wheel placement. I like the ‘point and shoot’ attitude of the HRII. One less thing to worry about on the trail. The Recon on the back is the + version of the Ardent which is a good intermediate trail tyre. When the 2.8 Magic Mary comes out in June I’ll probably put the HRII on the rear for an alps trip in August ( if my shoulder heals ) and put the MM on the front.

    It goes on to say

“The contribution cap will be operate in the following manner
    ((i) and (ii) being consecutive)

    (i) Payment by you of Level 2 basic charges plus any applicable VAT on Level 2 basic charges;

(ii) payment by you of the Success Fee ( this is your contribution by way of the Success Fee is subject to maximum limits which are inclusive of VAT) See schedule 3 below.”

I’d hate to think I’ll be agreeing to something that’ll later bite me in the ass.

I was told yesterday that they would like to represent me. They are confident that they will win the case and the amount of ‘costs’ awarded to them ( attainable from the defendent) would be enough to cover their costs. And that nothing would be deducted from the awarded damages.

Trouble is I find it very difficult to understand the legal-speak.

I have 2 new 3.0 Grid purgatory tyresup for grabs if anyone’s interested. Replaced them with a 2.8 HRII up front and a 2.8 Recon+ on the rear. Looks like the Mary is available from June. Hopefull they’ll be released oin time for my Alps trip in August. Then the HRII will be going on the back and the Mary up front.

Thats what i was going to check and if necessary get a different clevis/yoke if avaiable. If it doesn’t work with the 57mm I’d go with the 51mm. Trying to weigh the options.
