I’m on my through/ going up to Fremington for the Ard Rock event on Sunday the 17th. and wanted to get some riding in on the Saturday. If I knew the area I’d include it in a loop but as time is limited I don’t really want to go discovering on my own..

Dont forget to add the VAT on when using the ITS catalogue. They’re then suddenly not that cheap. Good shout with the impact driver. Im currently using Milwaukee Li Ion combi drill/ drivers. Have a look at the Hitachi DV18DSDL 90Nm torque and a metal chuck.

Kerbs are dialled…there’s not enough airtime on them to notice any foot/pedal thing going on. Its the larger drops on the surface to air where I’ve noticed it happening. I didnt seem to experience it when on my hardtail.

Use CT1. Remove all old stuff and clean thoroughly. Loading the tray is a good shout.

What I’m lining through is the blue line. Which goes through the centres of the Axle, and steerer tube top and bottom.

Can you get the builder to give you a lump sum quote inclusive of VAT..

    Ie. £20,000 Incl. of VAT.

As he has to show the VAT being charged his invoice is either

    £19,047.62 + ECO VAT @ 5% ( £952.38 ) = £20,000

    Or

    £16,666.66 + Vat @ 20% ( £3,333.34 ) = £20,000

@ otsdr. ….in the picture you’ve linked to you can clearly see that the steerer and fork uppers and lowers dont align. In the picture you can see that the wheel attaches directly to the bottom of the fork hense the offset to compensate. My forks have an offset axle and the fork legs are ‘set back’ so that the axle aligns with the steerer.

For the same reason I’ve changed the bars, stem, brakes, removed the 2 by, added a 42t One-up, changed the front tyre, changed the grips and added a bell…

I’m glad everything’s as it should be though. As for the no angleset thing I’ll just have to use an offset bushing.

Thats what it looks like. Shirley it would be advertised it as so. T’would be a bonus if it was.

This image is taken grom the web. You can see if you follow the line of steerer down towards the axle the fork isnt on the same axis

Loving my Mary up front too. Had a 2.4 3c Ardent on before but the it doesnt like claggy damp trails. Excellent tyre for hard-pack though.

Not ridden into a wall but there was a strong headwind yesterday.

Yes, if I draw an imaginary line through the steerer I hit the center of the axle which gives the illusion of the forks being bent backwards as if I’ve ridden into a wall.

Board over it ( 12.5mm pb ) and put insulation between the joists. Id use a mineral wool though as opposed to a Celotex type. Wool type also comes in different densities for varying levels of sound-proofing. You can get a sound-block pb but very heavy. Paint the pb a bright white ( you can get a Dulux light and space paint with better reflective qualities but might be a bit overkill for a cellar )…painting a light colour will give the illusion of more space than dark exposed beams..

Secret here is lots of light/ brightness. ..

I had a load of issues with hand pain when on my bike ( spesh enduro 29 medium..im 5’10 ) stem was 60mm, bars 750 10mm rise. I changed to a 35mm stem, 30mm carbon riser bar and added a 5mm spacer under the stem as i had too much weight on the hands. I rode like this for a bit and it was better but not perfect. Tried those Esi extra chunky grips and although chunky not very cushioning by the time youve stretched them over the bars in fact they are quite a solid grip so ill be going back to the Oury grips from OnOne @ about £6. Ive since changed back to the 60mm stem, keeping the 30mm rise carbon bars & the 5mm spacer. This is alot better so i think the bar height is now ok, reach I’ll bring back by 10mm. Moral of the story, trial and error, see what works/imprimproves…borrow various length stems, bars etc. from mates.

I thouhht the tacho is only to be used by persons who use their vehicles as their main income ie. Parcel delivery, minibus/ coach/ lorry driver etc. As im only using the van ( and occasionally the van with a trailer ) to get to my place of work, wherever that might be, im not actually using the vehicle for profit or gains..

I can feel a call to VOSA coming on..

As far as ivecos go then the 3.0L manual is the one to have and they are almost half the price of a same age Sprinter or Crafter.

My use will be mainly carrying tools with every now and then I might have a garden clearance where I need to fill up big-bags of garden waste, or pick up aggregate for a job. Im not using a trailer every week.

From the test taken on Edric 64s’ link..

If goods carried are in relation to the drivers work and driving is not his/her main activity

You should not need to fit a tachograph. If this changes you should fit a digital tachograph.

This exemption only applies to vehicles or combinations of vehicles with a maximum permissible mass not exceeding 7,500 kgs that are used for carrying materials, equipment or machinery for the drivers use in the course of his/her work and the vehicles are used only within a 50km radius of the base of the undertaking and on condition that driving the vehicle does not constitute the drivers main activity.

@Mac c….that doesn’t sound right ( not saying you’re wrong )…I thought you could tow 75% of the tow vehicle weight. Are caravans different then?

    tymbian

@Edric64…does that mean I need to buy a van with a tacho just in case I need to tow, or only if I need to tow a trailer further than 33 miles?

Crafters are fetching a lot of money. How are the older LT’s ie the 35 or 46?
If I go for a van with a higher GVW can I tow more?

I was wondering the same..either he doesn’t pay fees or he can remove my comment. Do I have to refuse it though ( say within 7 days ) or its cancelled automatically?
