Born, raised and live in Chichester which makes me a Cicestrian 🙂

Been many places but home will always be home for me – seeing the cathedral lit up against a black velvet night sky still takes my breath away as does sitting on the Trundle and taking in the view. Now I'm working at Goodwood and couldn't be happier – yep Chichester takes the no 1 spot for me.

One of the soldiers killed today has his young children at my friends school and the Headmistress had to inform the school – such a sad, sad loss. Needless to say his children were distraught.

Right, now discovered that I can only go to a 32 inch screen and nobody does a plasma in that size.
Looking at either Panasonic or Sony LCD TV and getting a Panasonic DMR-BS750 – any advice?

I was made redundant in April and now have a great job which started in October – was it advertised? – No!

50% of all job vacancies out there aren't advertised. Don't ignore anything that comes your way but don't think that it will just land in your lap either. My advice to anyone, having been there, is contact the places where you'd like to work but do some research first. Companies only take on people to fix a problem they have so try and identify what problems which the companies you'd most like to work for might have – then – tailor your CV and letter of introduction to address those issues.
If you're on LinkedIn.com then use the contacts and also copy and paste any recommendations you get and send them in with your CV too.
Above all, try and stay positive.
The job I have now was not in response to the 250 odd applications I sent off, it came from networking.
All the very best and I hope this helps.

Hi Kit, the National Association for Cronhs and Colitis (NACC) is very informative and helpful and should be able to help you with info and research. You may need to become a member (this is fairly cheap) if you haven't already done so. You can also write to their magazine to request to be contacted by others in a similar position to yourself – see the above link from thejesmonddingo

If we didn't have such a weak government and opposition and flawed immigration control then the BNP wouldn't be making the headlines.

I really don't want the BNP to get popular at all but I aware it might because successive governments have done such a rubbish job.

    My thoughts exactly!

Did Diane Abbott more or less say that Londoners would get everybody ganging up on Nick the Dick, but people outside London might sympathise with him?

Nail on head – BBC making the same old assumption that London represents the whole of the UK – doh!

The problem is that everyone's "having a go" at him yet to listen to what he's saying I fear much of it will still appeal to a lot of people – all this program's done is to show how crap the other parties still are. NG isn't the one interrupting and slagging off the others – I've the feeling that the BBC have pitched this wrong and underestimated many of it's audience. I don't support the BNP or NG but just to have him being slagged off by those that many actually don't hold in high regard themselves is back-firing I reckon.
