Bought 2 bikes off them and both purchases had their issues but sorted in the end. I will buy more bikes from then, they do ride well!

The baby fatty’s a 12in frame and she’s on that now, the tyres will make a bit of a difference so will need to try her on it.

18V DeWalt did mine on a couple of batteries. A Dremmel comes in handy for cleaning up the cut holes too.

    Cheers Lister,

Im booked in with Islabikes for a fitting on Saturday 30th Nov so will get to see one in the flesh then.

I have been looking around for a smaller frame to build up for her but I suppose the £650 price-tag comes down to the scaled down kit on it.

If I was to do it again I’d go for the Rolling chassis. The BB on that chainset is pants and the headset didn’t last long either.

I bought the Carver O’Beast carbon forks for mine.

Writing a letter then slagging off the guard and make personal slights about him in what should be a factual complaint letter marks you out as “one of those people”

This^^ no need for writing that in your email.

That is an impressive bit of kit. I like the turbine powered RC heli’s.

Theres a flying club that meet on the airfield in Abingdon Nr Oxford who fly RC jets. Used to love watching them, they dont half shift and sound like the real thing.

    I want one 8)

I asked the same question when I bought my latest, the fatty and the answer was no. It has to be built by a qualified mechanic for safety purposes. I think they dragged a tramp in off the street to build mine though 😕

I bought a Scandal 29er a few years back and they did send that in bits so I could build it. Half of the bits were wrong though.

I’ve just done a 4 year stint of Army recruiting and it’s pretty normal. I found that a lot sacked it and after a while really regretted it but scuppered their chances of getting back in.

I used to get a lot of parents contacting me with the same situation and it was dificult to advise them, my answer was to tell them to dig in and think what you will get out of it in the end. A lot of kids that age have never really been away from home and their parents like that before and it is one hell of a shock. You should never judge the Army and your future career by the training, training’s designed to be hard and fast and at times all you want to do is go home to mum and dad.

It will get better for her although this isnt the time of year to be up at Harrogate and the Yorkshire weather!

What trade is she going for?

Oh for gods sake! I go away for the weekend, and I come back to this! Salad? Poncey salad even? Tartare sauce? Granary bread? What the hell is wrong with you people?! What?! Eh? Does your perversion know no bounds?

Ahem….. The perfect fish finger Sarnie when made properly could make god himself weep with joy. And god would tell you to shove your bloody granary bread, tartare sauce and rocket right up your jacksey! Do you want to upset god? Do you? Because that’s what you’re doing. You’re going to burn in hell for all eternity. And for what? For a pre-washed bagged salad! Think on…..

A fish finger butty consists of the following:

    1) warburtons white thickest toastie bread
    2) fish fingers – let’s be honest – any old crap will do
    3) cheese singles – again – any old crap will do. Applied just before the end of cooking so slightly melted
    4) tomato sauce (loads of…)

To corrupt this simple formula with any of your poncey middle class nonsense is to take a thing of beauty and destroy it! It’s like drop kicking a kitten into a pond!

    Well said! 8)

I had one changed the other night. A unit about 1100mm x 460mm a local bloke I know who’s done a lot of work for me did it for £45. Watching how he did it I can definitely say I could do the next one myself.

It’s one of those jobs that looks daunting but a simple one once you’ve seen it done.

By the sounds of it then it’s not just been bad luck.

As I said the slams I had 10-12 years back were indistructable and stuck to surfaces like hot snot. I think i still have a pair of them in the bottom of a shed somewhere I might have to dig out!

I dont really use the shoes for on the hills, I have boots for that, they are mainly used as a casual thing and for walking to and from work.

I have a pair of North Face hedgehogs, they’re ok but soon went to look tatty.

A mate of mine swore by the Non cycling 5:10’s i might track some down and try them.

Had and have a lot of RAB stuff. Down jackets are mint and have had a few windproof jackets too. I had a Rab event waterproof jacket but it was a technical jacket so was quite fitted and didnt get on with it.

Some of the first karrimor KSB boots were mint. I’d love to get my hands on a pair. They were like slippers.

What sort of stuff are you looking for? natural big mountain rides? Downhill?

There are some good big mountain rides up above the North Wales coast, a few good rides on the Roman road GD SH6972 from there you can head up to Drum GD SH7069 and if you look in that area there are a nice few rides around the Carneddau and Dulyn resivoir at GD SH7066.

They are some pretty ‘out there’ rides and best done when the weathers good, it can get snotty up there and it’s not a nice place when the rain and cloud comes in.

I got out yesterday and it was pretty hard going. The mountain trails were that wet and soggy it was like riding on a mattress for 4 hours. It rained a lot and there was plenty of mud. Good ride out though. 😀

I’ve just bought a Mavic Helium H2O jacket and used it in anger this weekend. It pissed down for the whole ride pretty much on Sunday and I was very Impressed with it. Jacket was nice a cool, not too sweaty and I was bone dry after 4 hours in the saddle.

It’s light and packs down well. It doesnt pack down into a little pocket or owt and there are no pockets in it.

The meduim is supposed to be approx 177g but it is £140!
