If you’re just trying to add a route to your Garmin, and you can see the garmin as a drive in windows explorer, you don’t need any Garmin software….just drag the file to the Garmin/Newfiles folder and when you disconnect and switch the garmin on the route will be there as a course.

I took one about 10 years ago, as it was obvious to me that the “performance review” process would result in my going anyway. It helped that they offered me the compromise after I’d applied for a 3 month career break (which everyone was entitled to after 5 years employment), as it made the decision much easier.
I ended up taking a paid year out, which was fantastic. Next employer didn’t ask for specific circumstances of me leaving the job, I only had to declare that I hadn’t been fired (which I hadn’t). And the reference was good.

I have some friends whose house burnt down last year because their Zafira spontaneously combusted in the car port….do you think they could get some money out of Vauxhall now?

Have done the old 7 day Transrockies twice and it was a great event….well organised, good routes and a real challenge (especially in 2009 when it rained for 6 days….). 2nd time it was still good but not as good because they changed it to spend the first 3 days on trails around Fernie. While they were fantastic trails, we felt we could have just organised ourselves a holiday and ridden them independently.
I think if the new format is 6 days based in one place it might be a bit dull…..but well organised!

I’d rather have the kind of racing we had then than using artificial aids like DRS to “improve overtaking”. If we’re going to have DRS, then let the drivers use it whenever they like (or dare)

I think F1 should be cars going as fast as the drivers dare drive, not limited by tyres or fuel flow/amount, and less constricted design. Try that for a year or two and see if that brings back the excitement.
for sure, the team with the most money will probably win most, but with more innovation allowed, you get things like the Brawn team suddenly dreaming up something amazing

No where does the OP say it was a public space. But really you’re missing the point ….shit happens, politely called accidents.

So, a while ago, I was riding in the Chiltern’s and a deer jumped across my path..had I been a second earlier it would have hot me (possibly)…had that happened (yeah, right) should I have sued the landowner (or the deer)? Again, not condoning dog owners behavior, but then I don’t understand what “I have clearly changed it” means.

There isn’t always someone at fault.

Maybe it’s no-ones fault, just an accident? (Not condoning the dog owners reaction)

I’m on my second one….kept the first for 6 years, current one is 4 years old. I like it…loads of space, comfortable for long motorway trips. I’d say the servicing can get expensive as they get older….but I suspect that’s true on any modern car of that size and complexity.

I don’t see the attraction of W2…by the time you’ve done the link section twice and the bit along the bottom, you end up with about 12km of flat road.

I think Blade is a better trail, and if you want to do a longer ride, go back up and do Whites to finish off!

Dead easy..just stop at the services before the border to buy your Austrian tax sticker thing. If I recall none of that stretch is unrestricted anyway

The extra bits are signposted Skyline Loop and show on the map on website and at car park

I could be wrong but didn’t think you could ride the whole thing but you can tack bits of the old Skyline on to Blade to extend it to about 40km

Do W2 and Blade and you’ll get 4500ft! In fact, do Blade instead of W2… it might only be 24km but it doesn’t have 12km of flat linking fire road

last time I did W2 there was just only 700m of ascent….2300ft.

The Bose is very good….only thing I don’t like is that it uses a proprietary charging cable, so if you take it on holiday, it’s yet another cable and plug to take

I got loads of punctures from thorns on my Beargrease….way more than on other bikes. Then I went tubeless (split tube method) and not had one since

I was taken back in time by the shots of the “Welcome to Town” in Bridgend..the centre of our social life in my late teens. Must have been wearing beer goggles all the time then, because it didn’t look very appealing now!!

Where did you guys with the Lake 303s get them from?

Halfords ordered a pair in for me but they were just too small, and the local branch says they have no way to order a bigger size because they’re out of stock in the warehouse

No diversion anymore. Looks like they’re about to fell that hillside the first climb on the red run goes through……go ride it while it’s still around – I suspect it won’t be for much longer :-(

I get the feeling that the pottery place wouldn’t be too happy with muddy biking gear being worn in there….whereas on site cafes generally don’t mind.

She was quite insistent about us signing the visitors book which seemed odd at the time

…called the pottery bunkhouse on the A889. Nice cakes but judging by the newspaper cutting displayed, the owner is leading a campaign against the development of new facilities at Wolftrax (allegedly)
