I used decking boards, smooth side out. Quite pleased with the result.

depends how much you are thinking of saving. The key advantage being that you have time to max out this years allowance (should you wish), before starting on next.
In other words if you plan to save more than next year’s allowance, get some of it in now.

These are small, those are far away. (but otherwise, yeah, wot they said)

Nice one – I love how they just treat it like dinghy sailing only bigger.

Thank you for the suggestions – I an slightly ashamed to admit that the suit folding method had completely passed me by. It certainly widens the options. I’ll try that out next time I reckon.

Now, these shirt folder things – do they work a bit like an envelope but for shirts, or is it a bit like that thing Sheldon has?

CFH – is that a reference to the bare below the elbows policy, or a hint of sarcasm?

I sold a trumpet to John McVicar’s missus (not a euphemism). Only when a friend suggested I should take greater care for my personal safety did I investigate his past.

Good innit? Now, just so I’m clear, where am I supposed to merge?
In other news, I watched one of those funny Juke things merge with itself on the way north this afternoon – they were bimbling along in the middle lane, then all of a sudden aimed for the armco. Not quite sure what to make of it really.

or go freelance – so you could be posting on here late on a Friday instead of writing the bid you are supposed to be working on.

Did anyone say log it with the police yet? Just in case, can I suggest you log it with the police, and get a reference number off them. Be firm, but polite – (do not raise your voice – that never ends well!).

Hope you are ok – last time I got hit I was fine on the day, but the next few weren’t much fun after the adrenaline wore off. Bikes tens to cost a bit more than your typical driver might expect – some good advice up there ^^

    mend fast.

If I had £700 burning a hole in my pocket, I suspect I would go and talk to Bob Jackson. I have one, got it resprayed a few years ago and kept being asked about my new bike on Audaxes. Its at least 20 years old, 531, and just is *right*.

Other frame builders are available – looking at the options is part of the fun isn’t it?

I’m not entirely clear what specific ‘purpose’ you are looking for, but would suggest that well built, nicely painted, classic lines etc will stand you in good stead.

Just had a look at your photobucket and am even more impressed. You’d be mad to let that go, err, I mean what size is it?

Possibly just the pads that have perished (assume you don’t mean ultegra calipers?). Also, I’m loving the royce inner ring.

As for friction shifting, didn’t you just whack it in top and hope for the best like the rest of us?

Oh that’s a beauty. Sure it won’t fit your sister? – be a shame to see that go.

Aren’t there just – careful though, no real names on teh internets.
Vorlich has reminded me of the ‘secret’ trails at *****. Really needs an uplift though, unless you like pushing.

Crikey, its only when you start writing it down you realise how good it is round here – don’t tell anyone!

A gentler version of flowerpower’s route turns left instead of right, crosses the river and round the paths at Gartmorn. Gno gnarr whatsoever, but quire pleasant (esp when there are no nettles).

Seems to me the short version of this is don’t go to carron valley…

@vorlich, no not really, just been given another 50 days. Did you get that sauna off the other thread built?

    *waves over Ochils* @geoffj

@vorlich – no need to be like that is there?

    Yup, lots.

Trail Centre at Carron Valley as per above (it is easy to navigate, but not a patch on the natural stuff round here). Blairadam is great, as is Pitmedden – the latter a touch less muddy, although it might all be frozen anyway. Both are easy enough to navigate. Dumyat and Mine Woods behind Stirling Uni, Perth enduro trails in the fair city.

Or just up the hill at the back…

    @geoffj – you local?

Excellent way to invest – I thoroughly approve. Look after them well and they’ll last forever.

Have a look at Alfred Sargent – their range includes some ‘daintier’ shoes at the moment, but they do a good line in brogues. There’s a guy in Carlisle that does resoles, if you can’t get the commando sole on the shoe you want direct.

Take your time, make sure they fit, etc. A bit like Brooks saddles the breaking in process may be two-way…

I’ve had bits off these guys before too Shoe Shop[/url] – the saphir stuff is marvellous.

So lots of interviews, get those done, and then cut a deal with your boss – you can solve them a problem. Failing that just GTFO

Good luck with the interviews btw.

Longer term, does a Ltd Co (with you both as directors perhaps) give wider options? Different model of working perhaps, but not without advantages.

30 quid to set up at companies house, accountants fees and possibly insurance on an annual basis. EDIT and corp tax, obvs.
But… PAYE for main time plus Ltd for the overtime sounds a little like disgused employment under IR35. You’d possibly (if caught, etc) need to pay the tax anyway.

But yes, you could be a director too and receive a proportion of the dividend.

It’s great though isn’t it. I really like that the pictures seem to reflect a particular time – Rosie’s Walk does the same, but different vintage.

c’mon OP, what costs 25 just to open the box?

    twicewithchips

    Tee hee

seems to me you’ve paid 279 for a thing (item C), plus 25 quid for the pleasure of opening a box.

Whether the former is a fair price, only you can judge. I’d be a bit annoyed at the latter.
