Quite techy int it? How does it compare to the beast? While i’ve got your attention, whats the better of the two descents from hollins cross (north side)? Done the one which heads west down to greenlands many times, which I love, but never the other towards backtor.. but which is best (in a Harry Hill styleee!)

Aah, so the 130mm goes in the lowers. I assumed because it is such a large amount, that was to change the damper oil. Mine are floats bye the way, seems to be same principal though??

TJ- Do you not add a small amount of oil to both legs? Surely both have wipers and foam rings that need lubrication?

Tried the prising the seals up with a screwdriver method as fox suggest…rubbish idea! Rather remove the lowers completely but not too sure of a few things. Any first hand advice and things i should be aware of would be helpful cheers.

Been out locally today and all is still frozzed to ****! I guess the volume of traffic at FTD has done away with all that snow nonsense. Cheers

Get the best you can stretch to and then some. Weight and packed size are paramount for your biking bivvy trips, you have to be able to get everything you need in your ruckie. Small, light and warm = expensive! Mountain equipment, rab, etc but your talking £150ish, dont scrimp though you’ll regret it. Alpkit pipedream might be worth checking, got one of their skyhigh bags for winter which is very good, well made just too bulky for the bike. Forget the idea of getting a bag that will be suitable for both your needs because you’ll end up compromising both.

Say, hypothetically,(not me ) that you forgot to lube up before a salty ride- oooerr! After a quick rinse with a watering can, cuz your hosepipe’s frozzed, you leave it till morning. Et voila, bright orange chain!.. matches my bike i suppose..

I had some nanno flats off of em last year.. surprise of suprises, they’re superb! Given em some proper mucky abuse, still solid, no play, nothing..recomended

Loving my nobby’s on woodsy, soft, hard, mud, but they dont seem work too well on rocky, ie peaks stuff. Compound is hard and doesnt mould round rocks like a softer compound such as maxxis does. Thats the compromise I guess, of such a fast rolling tyre…. Even faster run tubeless!

Rich – I’d steer clear of that one, just two cheap(heavy) bags and what must be an uber thin bivvy bag.
