Very good for peaks, not ideal for pines when its a bit soft.. they drag

They do two sizes, the larger being the stated size and the small being 2 litres less according to cotswold outdoor.

They do in the..er.. larger sizes, would imagine its same for the 22?

I use a 33 for bivvy rides and I can squeeze everything in for a summer night.. just!
If you get the 22 in large, ie longer, it will have a larger capacity and sit lower on your back, ideal for the bike.

Maxxis are ace on rocks in softer compounds, advantage not great in mud. Not tried them but Ardents look worse for muddy stuff, having shallow tread.. look fast though!

Me? I dont fall off…ever! Or get punctures…
Tiz a tricky dropoff though, I reckon your dad should’ve deployed the parachute that he carries around in that huge rucksack of his, along with enough spare parts to build another bike….hardcore!

Yep, you’re right dawson, tis time to stop slagging it off and take it for what it is…10+ miles of uninterupted singletrack in superb woodland and just a short drive away! My best bits…
First couple of sections up to culloden,
Old bit after beech wood (when not muddy!),
The one ending with the big berm,
Old section on north west side of forest (downy uppy downy uppy bit?),
Twisty pixie trail sections, for a bit of variety, (when dry),
Next couple of sections after that are my favourites, fast and flowy.
Done… cuppa and hot sausage roll, buy something from bike shop you dont need! 🙂

My license was due for renewal at begining of this month but I’ve decided not to renew it (yet!) What do I have to do to prove I dont watch it?

Probably too late now daim as I think the route itself is basically finished. It doesn’t appear to have been designed with much, if any rider imput, more a case of let the digger driver decide! Ironically, some of the best bits are where the original trails have been used. Still, musn’t grumble, it is only up the road from me…I may take a chainsaw next time though! (covert trail building anyone?)

Couldn’t agree more daim, those gutters are just stupid. There’s a couple of sections where you can get a bit of flow going but the majority of it just feels awkward. Could’ve been so much better…opportunity missed perhaps? Also been up this morning, alot of folks going the wrong way round, giving me dirty looks cuz I didnt get out of their way….cant they read the tiny felt tip markers? 😉

ooooh… getting better, rockgarden looks a bit “loose”
Camp site looks a bit “sterile” though!

Yes it will! Drain the oil out of the bottoms. After you’ve undone and knocked in the bolts the oil will drain out.

I like your stile lyons, I’m partial to a cheeky trail or two but its not really long term thinking.
SFB’s territory is it? where is the icon..

Rusty, I asked a similar question on here not so long back but with my 8 year old daughter as stoker. After some great advice and encouragement from above, hired one out for a few hours locally and I have to say it was superb fun. Did lots of singletrack stuff, twisty pixie trails even a (tame) bmx skills loop…mad! Kid loved it(well I think she did, she was singing most of the time – always a good sign) WANT ONE!!!

Anybody got or even seen the new phase? Looks good but with helmets you really have to try before you buy (especially if you’ve got a mekon head!)
