Thanks stevede , good info. That could be me pulling the trigger on the Arch EX. 🙂
Also, whats the volume like on the purgatory compared to the 2.5 minion?

    Cheers

I run 2.4 schwalbes but would also like the option of running a smaller tyre esp on the back as retro83 does.
At over an inch internal width the flow does look more of a DH rim
Hmmm… your silver tongue may be swaying me towards the arches Northwind

    Thanks all

will try it out tomorrow and see how it rides. Worst case I’ll stick my vanilla RC back on and hawk it on eBay. Pretty sure I’d get my money back.

thats what I was thinking. Would appreciate your thoughts after your ride

@zilog6128 Yeah not sure how a used shock differs from a new one as to the tuning?

If its not right for a five and needs tuning and the volume reducing, it gets kind of expensive…

You can very easily make it work like a standard volume can by using some air volume spacers available from Mojo

yeah that makes sense but isn’t the compression and rebound tuning also specific for the bike or suspension design?

    Mine was a normal can.

Really? Ended up being a bit of a lottery it seems

I got a ‘factory series, boost valve, high volume with a med/med tune and boost valve tune of 200’… whatever that means?

Chest mounted and flipped upside down to get the angle right. You can use the short mount doing this which eliminates a bit of wobble.

EDIT: you may not be able to use the short mount with the screen

When new I think this is true but after a few uses and if kept in the freezer and never washed out with anything ‘tasty’ they loose that plaggy taste IME

Esure and Shiela’s IIRC dont replace new for old. Its written somewhere on web site that age and depreciation is taken into account when paying out for your nicked bike!

Cheers Miffy and TiRed, More Than (Sun Alliance) seems to tick all the boxes. Individual bikes covered at home up to 5k if named on policy, new for old replacement of same make and model – all for half what M&S quoted!

Co-op’s out, bicycles up to £1500

Really? The other half’s is insured with them at a specified £1800. Non-specified bikes are covered up to a grand (I’m looking at the renewal right now as I need to sort it out and specify a couple more)

This is what she told me on the phone, she even did some keyboard tapping to double check. Doesn’t mean a lot though after my conversation with direct line. If they dont know, how the hells a thicko like me supposed to find out? AAARRGGGHHH

Just called Direct line and the nice lady said that I’m covered for my 3k bike from within my home so I continue with my online quote where I happen across a smallprint balloon that states “bicycles up to £1000” FFS!!!

Its easy enough to do Burnstump to Pines all off road. Getting there from Sherwood should’nt be too tricky, through Bestwood park maybe?

Fairholmes up to Lockerbrook, down Hagg, up bastard climb to Win hill, down Beast, pootle along road to Rowlee farm up, across, down Lockerbrook/Gores back to Fairholmes.

Kinder circuit using chapel gate ascent must be a comfy 2 hr ride, sure there are better suggestions though.

3hr would be quick! Feels like a 2hr climb up from Coldwell clough 😕

Altura attack 3/4’s aren’t as waterproof as the Endura one’s (forget the name) IME.
I have the attack jacket which is very robust but the shorts are made of a thinner, less waterproof fabric, showerproof at best.
