Wasted if you like Spaced. Sean Bean taking the piss is bloody brilliant!

Yeah what you want is an inbred lump of lard that thinks its a dustbin and has dodgy hips.

Is that referring to Staffies or Labs?

I’ll pass thanks Smokey Jo 🙂

    Cross post plums..

It will be with me pretty much 24 – 7 in a campervan travelling here and there.

Lots of biking and walking will be involved so no probs with exercise.

Vans not huge through which is why I’ve discounted a big dog.

Brilliant! Just the kind of advice I’m looking for. A lab never occurred as thought it might be too big for the van but if its happy to sleep plenty i dont suppose it really matters…

There’s a handsome looking lurcher local to me, anyone any experiences?

    Lots of rescue Staffies about?

The short version of the Achnashellach descent might be doable? Up the landy track from the station towards the Coulin lodge, left after the bridge up to Drochaid Coire Lair and back down to station.

I was up Torridon wednesday. Didnt ride the lolipop but walked the area. South facing slopes fairly snow free but the north facing corries lots of deep drifts. More forecast over weekend too.

Rode the Kenmore to Applecross out and back which was completely snow free and bloody awesome!

    Well that took some doing!
Finally got the shower built and up and (kinda) running…

Happy with the look. Not used in anger yet as I’m waiting for a curtain (couldn’t work out a way to fit a door that wouldn’t leak so a curtain will do – for now..)

    Thats it,

    Done! 🙂

Search eBay for keku fittings, they might do what you want to do . Not sure why you want to dismantle it though, can’t you just screw it together?

Stick some sonic gold laminate floor insulation on the metalwork before you ply it, it’s cheap and easy to do AND you’ll be off your tits if you keep your doors shut when glueing, win win!
Definately do the floor too, gets cold under foot in a van, even through ply and carpet.

Applecross Coffin Road – out and back from Applecross tbpfh – you finish back at the Applecross Inn. Great ride, great food, camp on the beach

No access on to the ‘beach’ with your motor now, it’s been mostly blocked off with a line of boulders, just a small square bit accessable, shame. Excellent ride though, one of my favourites anywhere.

If it’s rough sawn timber that’s pressure treated, I’d use a preservative rather than a stain, not water based or ronseal though. Try your local decorators merchant, Johnstone’s do a decent one at a decent price

You wont get a transverse bed in a Vivaro, they’re only 1.6m wide iirc. Movano/master is wider though..

unless of course we discover geothermal activity on these moons, which in itself creates problems with highly localised evolution

Are those not just the ‘spark’ needed to get life started though? Organisms evolve into more complex life and become self contained, like mammals for eg, we need water to survive but were not aquatic

Most people are already satisfied that we’re not, I think

Discovering planets in the Goldilocks zone is one thing, life however, is another.

    twang

Lol no, far far from it.
The discovery of extra-terrestrial sentient life would be right up there but not microbial life.

As it stands, Earth is unique. The only place in the universe where life exists. Finding microbial life on another world changes that and the likelihood of intelligent life existing elsewhere. It’s a massive step closer to answering the question are we alone.

Isn’t the ghetto solution just to pack some grease in your can to reduce volume? Infinitely adjustable too

Am I right in thinking this makes insurance cheaper and has a higher speed limit on motorways

Not motorways as that’s still 70mph. Dual and single carriageways it drops by 10mph for a commercial

Put skirting back on then fill smaller gap at bottom of skirting, save yourself a few quid on mastic.

Not so keen on the stretchy carpet look but it hides a multitude of sins and the only option on the bulkhead which has been a bit of a pain in the arse to work around as nothing is square but done and looks ok ish. The curtains are ace, off the shelf generic campervan curtains from Kiravans.

    More wallpaper for the splashback

Still lots to do, mainly the shower which is non existent but even wannabe pikeys have to wash occasionally 🙂

If it were me I’d be going the split charger leisure battery route and leave the vehicle battery for it’s intended purpose. A VSR and cheapo leisure battery is a doddle to fit and as said above will cost £150 max.

Taps a household tap from Screwfix. The sink is a Smev but its a bit pants tbh, barely any lip to seat it in your worktop, no rubber seal, the brackets are crap and the waste is a waste of space so not really recommended

Fresh tank is in garage, eating in to my bike stowage space but rather that than have it freeze. Waste is, well I havent got one yet so its draining through the floor and into a bucket if I need to. My gas is calor exchange refillable under the hob. I had an lpg tank fitted on the motorhome but found it a bit of a pain looking for a garage that sells it, this was in Spain though, perhaps easier here.
    You got your van yet?

    EDIT; Tank is here

    Still plodding on…

    This happened

A job I’ve been putting off for fear of f***ing it up but all went well

Running water in a van never ceases to amaze

Wide vinyl hung(?) on the ceiling, finally a finished surface!

Spots over kitchen and bits of stretchy carpet here and there

Still so much to do but feels like I’ve turned a bit of a corner as a few bits get their final finish.
Just about functional as a camper though so maiden voyage is imminent.. 🙂
