That’s great. So just to confirm, with a normal short cage rear D.A mech, I can add the wolf tooth and it will the accept a 11-32 cassette, even though the short cage has a 28 tooth limit?

I actually put a down payment on a moots route (having a custom vamoots cr and now a mootox) then I though this is nuts zero the frame is going to take a bashing from bike bags, I’ll be commuting in it and I can build a cheaper frame with top end parts for the price of a moots frame.

I went for a croix Der Fer ti, built her up with xtr/ Dura ace, king / stans wheels, woodchippers, king ti cages etc. Just did a century ride on her today and was out yesterday riding singletrack (I change out the wheels). Cracking bike, supa comfy and versatile. Glad I didn’t go for the route…

Highlands in july – no midges – unlikely.
Torridon is fantastic with lots of trails / exploring. North west is great around stac pollaidh also far north around tongue (the local shop does a great sticker “I love tongue”).
checkout the developing mountainbiking scotland website for lots of recommendations

oh forgot to add, my mate has given me his terra nova Jupiter bivi on long term loan…so may use that. Also, may invest in a good sleeping pad though, the ol alpkit base camp model is a wee bit big for this adventure.. not one of those klymit inertia ones as i can believe they are actually comfy (especially for a wriggler like me)

so, a wheel (stans grail) built on the new XT dynamo using a igaro D1 with exposure light would do the job….
