I uaed the lite 209 on all.my bikes now, have been changing the saddles when funds / ebay finds allow. I’ve been riding since the 80’s and sat on many perches and these are in a different league (for my ar$e) FWIW, did a.200 miles loop on Sunday night and no issues with my butt.

I don’t look at how much power increase a saddle can offer just how fitted it is. Shame they are on the heavy side though… good luck with it

If staying in golspie, the wildcat trails are definately worth a blast. Nip down to loch fleet to watch the seals going catching fish when the tide is coming in. If you’re prepared to go off piste, there are some fantastic routes all over the place and don’t forgot the world famous ‘stones’ shop in golspie, great place to get your amethyst crystals.

The issue we have up here now is that of limited facilities especially on the NC500 route. It’s a shame hat the highland council don’t put more.money into infrastructure as many locals, esp those on the nc route, now hate tourists… especially when they dump chemical toilets on the roadside. BTW, they don’t discriminate, I got into a heated discussion with a resident of scourie last year when doing a wee bike pack.around the coast about wildcamping and I live here.

cheers. I will get 2 sets of wheels eventually. i have a nice set of tune hubs which will be the primary build so will ponder rim size a wee bit more. As im more an xc kinnda guy and have the mojo HD for playing, 29ers are looking like the option at the mo….ahh, come to think of it i can always change the rims on the 650b hadley wheels and use them as the +….. now why didnt i think of that sooner….

i wanted to keep my sram red mech levers on the gravel build but having had mixed experience with TRP’s etc wanted a hydrolic brake. Check out the Juin tech R1’s or the new GT-R (4 piston version of the R1’s). ive been using them for over a year in all conditions on road , gravel, MTB terrain and they have been faultless

i did my first 24hr solo last year and completed it, was over the moon but totally f*ked.  Had a celebratory bottle of my fav warsteiner larger (only managed 1/2 the bottle) and proceeded to feel absolutely crap for the 4hr drive (as a passenger) home.  Basically my body was so stressed even a slight dose of booze knocked it for 6. i never drink after a ride / event now.  Im 47 so that’s  part of the reason, in my 20’s id stop mid ride for a pint….

@andreasrhoen… rattling can be sorted by replacing the bushings..you can get a kit with the bushing tool for around £25 from your LBS….

Ive already got a set of lauf grit SL’s coming in time for PR so I think I’m already ‘cheating’
