It is ridiculously stupid so it’s no great surprise that 5th Elefant is now trotting it out.

it’s not really, look at The Third Wave experiment :

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_Wave_(experiment)

and compare to how certain sections of both the labour party and society in general are behaving, it is not inconcievable that a skilled operator could head the party off down that road.

We are just lucky that Corbyn is not that skilled operator, although McDonnell might be – see his youtube videos celebrating direct action and spitting in your managers tea being a victory for the people.

noticed yesterday that the swype functonality on the keyboard in IOS 13 on the ipad only works if you float the keyboard, making it much smaller.

Can’t see the logic in that at all, has to be a mistake, had to install google gboard again.

How on earth can she stand on the top step of the podium in a rainbow jersey and not feel embarrassment is beyond me

    Lance Armstrong managed it…

I pass someone every morning that has hair like this – don’t know if he identifies as trans or anything and not bothered, and he seems to be ‘fairly’ comfortable in his skin – not sure this will do him/her any favours if it gets major publicity.

Bare in mind that you can get from Waterloo to London Bridge by just walking up to Waterloo East – the trains are pretty regular as there are two platforms for trains that will go to London Bridge, and it will be covered by the same ‘London Terminals’ ticket so there is no need to buy a tube extension ticket.

Taking the waterloo & city line at peak time can mean missing several trains before you can get on, so depending on where you have to get it it can be preferable.

Or take a brompton up. Cycling can be a good way to counter the drudge of the commute.

It’s simple, take gender out of it because that’s fluid.

Replace gender classification with two categories, one for people with XX chromosomes, one for everyone else.

or some other catagorisation, forget gender.

Would allow women to compete meaningfully with men of the same same catagorisaton.

Might then make for better, and more watcheable, competition as matches would be closer and therefore more exciting to watch, and therefore closer the ‘pay gap’

Would dramatically reduce Serena Williams earning capacity though as she would be in one of the lower categories !

Maybe in 20 years time you will discover the macebell and then regret not trying one earlier…

Stay home and use a macebell…

Very time efficient and very good for stabalising the back due to the offset nature of the weight.

Combine with some Indian clubs for even more effectiveness

Obviously a big TV can’t match a cinema screen

depends how big your TV is :-)

With 4k, and parrticularly 4k bluray, it is feasible to have a TV that fills as much of your field of vision as a cinema screen.

Next problem is having a sound system as good/powerful…

I’ve been with both several times for the complete coach from Victoria to resort experience :-)

Skiweekends do lots of flight packages as well.

Was Ok, especially if you can fall asleep on the coach – the seats have a large recline and loads of leg room, not like a normal coach.

Valmeiner was really nice – we had a 1 star Michelin chef that year – got 8 days skiing out of a week whereas flyers get 6ish.

    https://www.snowcoach.co.uk/valmeinier-1800-france

Hotel is close to the lifts (across the road).

TBH I used to ski a lot but when you compare to mountain biking their so many similarities that it starts to look like very poor VFM.

Plus if I need that ‘carving’ feeling I just take my Gotway MSX out for a sping :-)

Book a holiday somewhere within reach of several Welsh mtb centres instead – with decent waterproofs…

Soething that goes around the hip as weighty locks are much less noticeable there.

But anything decent is going to be heavy.

The only other option is somethign like a decent padlock that you put through the chainrings if you stop for a short break – stops anyone riding off on the bike and is a bit of a deterrent as it will have to be cut off, which wil be harder than a cable, or dismantled.

You can complain about the upgrade all you like but the simple fact is that had to happen as the old forum was becoming increasingly unworkable under the hood

agreed, but it was just the screwed up way it was done – speaking as a developer of over 30 years experience :-)

A copper came into our school years ago to give a presentation at assembly.

His son was of the age where he could get a 50cc moped, but his father knew of the dangers on the road and was unhappy, so offered his son a 250cc trials bike and to take him to races, etc.

The son took up the offer, got to spend more time with his father, and looked cooler to his friends than if he had got the 50cc moped.

Maybe there is something similar you can do ?

Sit down with him and outline all your fears and show him the stories on here about how people have seriously messed up their mental health.

Strike a deal that he doesn’t go down the drugs path at all but follows another activity/hobby which may also get his ‘cool’ points and keep him away from his peers that might be guiding him into drug use.

A form of bribery, yes, but so what ?

If there are no kids there is no next generation to try to undo the huge **** ups of the last few generations.

Filter out kids that are going to have a low IQ or are genetically inclined towards occupations that pay badly, as we need the taxes from high earning kids to try to tackle climate change as well as pay the pension burden.

Perhaps embryo screening ? But before 3 months as abortions after that can get messy…

Same with immigrants, if they are not likely to earn a good wage then we don’t want them as their tax yields will be low.

Just received mine, might make a review later on.
    First impressions:

Flood mode gives the typical even brightness that zoomies do, however it is slightly smaller than my led lenser p5r.2 which is about 60 degrees when fully zoomed out.
In spot it also doesn’t zoom as tight as the led lenser, with a bigger corona around the square die image.
Edges have a significantly yellow tint, while the led lenser is almost all pure white.

UI sucks, there are 4 modes then strobe and sos or blink and you need to cycle through all of them.
To turn on and off you need to hold the button down for like two seconds.
At least it has memory so you can just leave it on high and not have to see strobe when you want to turn it off.

I wish the host was just a few mms bigger diameter to fit 26650 cells, since it is significantly thicker than 18650 size.
The build quality seems good though, nice finish on the outside and smooth one-handed zoom.
Will be fun to mod this thing.

plus you can lift the front a bike on a fixed turbo and tilt it back against the wall to take up less space – I have my turbo between two bikes hanging from wall brackets in the garage os it takes up the same amount of space, then I lower it down to use it, with a laptop on a wall bracket that pulls out to in front of the bars, and then pushes back against the wall when not in use.

And three fans controlled remotely by a remote controled power socket so I can bring them on line as I need them :-)

that’s really going to happen – lots of people may die but extinction ain’t going to happen…

    TurnerGuy

I don’t like the rigidity of an all-in-one bike or even a turbo normally as it doesn’t feel ‘natural’ – and I am not much of a roadie.

The rock of the Tacx Neo looks good but I use a gen 1 Wahoo Kicker on a Wahoo mat but with the side supports slight wound up and with sorbothane sheets underneath, so there is a very slight rock, not noticable but enough to remove that horrible rigid feeling.

If you are using the turbo a lot then consider just consider building ‘half-a-bike’ just for the trainer – you only need a cheap front wheel, a cheap frame with the same geometry as yours, no brakes and no gearing really if using erg mode. Or buy 2nd hand from ebay.

in favour of the most far-right piece of legislation this country has ever seen.

or far-left if Corbyn gets his greasy hands on power…

it’s not far right – it’s just your idea of what could happen – but the electorate have the power to vote a government out and change direction – unlike being able to change the direction of the EU as there are too many levels of indirection plus that half-arsed degressive proportionality thing
