@brassneck. this is exactly why i want to do it. would like to have use off it myself and rent it out when im not using it ( which would be most of the time!)
The cobbler (or ben arthur to give it its right name) is just about 45min outside glasgow, and the starting point is a place called arrochar. Its just short of a munro in height..
Pretty sure if your buying frame new you void the warranty if you fit anything over 140mm forks. Ive also heard of people that have cracked the swingarm been refused warrany as they had 200mm rear brake discs fitted as they recommend nothing bigger than 185..
Well, did the three passes route yesterday… stunning day for it and some great scenery and trails, but.. what a brutal hike a bike up nan bield! that really was brutal, and to top it off there was a howling wind coming through the valley which made it a lot harder..Absolutely spent after it, but thoroughly enjoyed it!
@timba.. yip, exactly that problem. It had stuck solid where it mounted to the mech hanger. Just ended up soaking it with gt85.. an hour later and all is good. I hadn’t washed and greased after last outing and just put iy in cupboard. . Not the best idea! Thanks all..:)
My inlaws stay in rhodes and ive been out several times. Lovely island, but head south. Stunning scenery and as previously said you can do a bike trip with rhodes roads. I usually take the roadbike over with me, really good roads and you discover some gorgeous village’s, especially in the centre of the island.
Good dropper. Spring at the seat end needs lubed quite often to keep it smooth and its a doddle to service. Im using a teflon inner cable and find it a lot smoother. 🙂
